What version do you prefer - the original, or the 2004 remix?

I'm far too young to remember the eighties - the only thing from that time being the ZX Spectrum boot-up screen
Code:
(c) 1982 Sinclair Research Ltd.
but to me, although you can't go wrong with the original as far as music is considered, I find the music video for the mix much more compelling - and it captures the "feel" of this time period for me, too. Much better than some guy in a crown walking around secluded places ;)

Thoughts, anyone?

I voted for the remix, cause it`s done by Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park! And i think you whats my favourite band... And and it`s sounds better then the original for me

Fantastic song, both versions work, but the original is better.

Honey please don't understand me wrong, but you like nothing! I see in the movie-topic, every movie you saw in the last time was not your taste of good entertainment! But I'm just joking honey... *hugs*

I think original is better. It was not so loud as remix, and video was about "enjoying the silence". Walking in mountains and other silent places - I'd like to do it now, b-cose I'm a student and have got session now (exams, if you now)
New video is anti-corporational, for me.

Unfortunately, Sascha, it's true.. there are only a few movies I really like, and I'm well-aware of that. Okay, if you want to know what movies I like, I'll tell you - my favorites are Vidocq and K-PAX. Under-rated and infamous, unfortunately :( I like psychological movies like K-PAX and movies with nice scenery, cool plot-twists and, um, call it 'tasteful' violence (though I prefer no violence at all), like Vidocq. So yes :P

Back to topic - my bro listens to Enjoy the Silence so much it's no surprise I hate it :P

Hey no shame, it's good that you not like every movie. Everyone has his own taste and not every movie is made for everyone. I also like K-PAX, it's really a good movie to think about. Never saw Vidocq, but if you say it's good then I have to watch it. :D And I think we save those brainwash for another one! *hugs Donna*

I didn't vote, cause I too don't get this thread...
I thought it would be something about "without silence there can be no music" or something like that, but...
no...

Buy Depeche Mode's Violator NOW!

Enjoy the Silence is one of the best songs in the world. The original rules, naturally.

The remix of Enjoy The Silence is not bad, but it can never match the coolness of the original version on Violator

Yeah. I cried so much in the end... It was Christmas, was at my grandma's apartment. I was alone in the room with the TV, just wanting to escape the smoke and boring relatives who always ask the same thing over and over.. and that movie came on. I just watched and cried... I rarely cry on movies, but that one touched me deeply. I must get it on DVD somehow..
