All these mysterious postings on twitter this last while from PotF, saying about a secret project, and about recording stuff. Could it be yet another game soundtrack? They sure seem to like them so that's got to be my first guess. Also I'm just curious also as to why noone else seems to be discussing this already on here.

On a related note, I now have a craving for bbq food....

Since Diablo 3 is out, I guess the same thing as me:
"Yes, mom, I'm studying... Yes, mom, I'm cleaning my room... No, mom, I'm not playing games again..."

In their case:
"Yes, fans, we are recording new stuff... Yes, fans, we are very productive... No, fans, we are too busy to do something else..."

Wondering what Jaska is doing on the studio? Simple answer is: co-op.

They said some time ago that they want to do something really new. I guess it’s not a game soundtrack.

judging by the news about 2nd single that's remixed once again, now it's only natural they remade entire album for German audience. lol. also it'd be coherent with the recent quote about doing something very unusual. double lol.

The main thing that's got me thinkin it's game related is their 'couple of days' deadline coincides with the end of E3 gaming expo.

Exactly, it 'coincides'. Usually POTF don't release stuff "when it's done", there are couple of issues needed to be solved first, so nothing comes right away. Depends on the situation, but what I mean is that in this particular case there's no connection.

Here's a random thought that came to me. What if they're releasing an "old Gods of Asgard" album? They already have some of the songs from Alan Wake, after all

Not to burst your bubble, but I doubt that putting together an entire album goes this quickly...

You know what, in my opinion Old Gods > PotF

So HELL YES.
