Same voice actor, same music that was in Max Payne 2. Maybe Admin knows this but it seems like they're not only making Max Payne 3, but bought the whole Max Payne generation instead?

I...don't...know. I'm not liking it. The song does not fit in that trailer. Nothing noir about it. I say Rockstar should've just made a new character to go along in their story instead of using the New York City cop, spewing metaphors left and right, man with nothing-to-lose who brought most of us here to discover the Poets of the Fall. It's just not right.

It looks good visually but there are many things that i could go on to a long winded post about as to why i don't feel too thrilled with what they're doing in this game.

We'll see what happens though, i will be playing regardless.

well anyways my thoughts are they need to put the painkillers, rain, darkness, youth, Remedy and Poets of the Fall back. Then this game would be pretty good.

I really don't wanna be pre-judgemental about this game.
Nevertheless, I always loved MP 1 and 2, but as far as I'm concerned, it seems that this game has no connection what so ever to the storylines of the previous games, except for the fact that the main character is Max. We get no mentioning of what has happened since game no. 2 in the trailer, there is no hint of Mona (or anyone else we might know) being there, and to make it all worse, they moved Max out of the dark noir NY to sunny Brazil.
It seems to me that the game is all about form and nothing at all about content. So instead of making up something new, they take the basic game properties of something old and puts it with new characters in new settings.
However, as I haven't played it yet (obviously), I won't judge the game, but I do judge everything I've seen so far, and it looks extremely disappointing, seeing as I have looked forward to Max Payne 3 ever since the words "Max Payne's adventure through the night will continue" ran over the screen accompanied by Late Goodbye some 7-8 years ago...

That's true. There are conflicts about the atmosphere. Now we have Brazil, so it seems we'll have situations like a bloodbath or razed buildings, a flood of sweat and sunburnt girls, Max with beard and bottles of drinks and so on. It really looks like american action films like Die Hard 4 with an undying strong as an ox character. Max wasn't like this. The whole game wasn't like this.

Just played Max Payne 3. Was such a let down, the story was over the top with Max surviving several certain deaths that would have definitely killed him if he was in the 1 and 2 series. Plus they didn't mention much about his life and back story. Also the story takes a bit long until it gets good.

Overall I say it's a good buy if u don't really care much about the story. But if you're a die hard fan than I don't think it's worth it.

I watched the first 15 minutes of the game. It really blew me away! The graphics engine is so plastic that nothing just "stands" in one place. Story-wise, it lacks the comics, they would be a bad choice for exactly this game. Max is clinical, brutal (haven't heard him swearing though), but after all of the events he's been through, he is exactly what you'd expect for such a guy - he is barely in this reality. Do you remember the "Thing That I Want" from MP2? Now it all makes sense. He is not a bad ass just because Rockstar want more sales - he is exactly a man with nothing to lose in every sense of it. I wan't be able to play it, but at least I'm calm that he is not in the wrong hands.

A warning: It's OK if the game is too bitter for your taste. He is totally out of faith, so don't expect kissing in the ears with metaphors and moral lessons. I understand.
