Date sounds good, but if it's going to be a work day, please, pretty please, make it at evening. I'd hate to miss it because of work :(

(I suck at time zones sometimes) That'd be 17.00 (5pm) to 19.00 (7pm) CEST in Poland, right? Thanks, that'd be fine, I'm back from work usually exactly at 5pm :)

Good to go on my end! :D

For USA:

CST: 09:00

EST: 10:00

PST: 07:00

MST: 08:00

April 13th! Right?

(conversion table, maybe it will help? http://www.worldtimeserver.com/convert_time_in_UTC.aspx
The one I found was only for the USA, this one is for all over the world, but I haven't tried it out)

Are we talking GMT as in English time, or are we adding the summertime hour?

GMT as UTC.

I'm guessing that's 11:00 AM EST. Looks like I'm waking up early that day

Just to pull all the info together:

An effort to make #poetsofthefall a trending topic on twitter. The tag is changed cos I think it will be easier to look up, if you've never heard of potf and (hopefully) see it in the trending topics.

Date and time: Friday the 13th 2012 from 15.00 (3pm) to 17.00 (5 pm) UTC (GMT). The date is the release date of Kamikaze Love single in Germany and I thought the time might be alright for most time zones.

You can spread awareness of this everywhere you like (FB fan pages, street team pages, your own twitter and anywhere) but I'll be taking care of POTF FB wall. I'll notify about this one week prior (it will just be lost in the timeline if I do it earlier) and will throw in a couple of reminders closer to the D-day.

I'm almost sure I'm gonna miss it. But I could join in the late hours with my share of spam :)

@DSoL

okay, afternoon/evening is a good time for me. But one question just to be sure. GMT+1 is summertime and that makes it for CET - GMT+2 or do you mean with GMT already the summertime?
http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

So it will start at 16:00 (4pm) for England and 17:00 (5pm) for central Europe and 18:00 (6pm) for Finland.

What a great idea! I'm in and I hope that this works. Someone could be very happy, if he/she finds PotF because of this.

I have a question and a possible idea.

First of all, does anyone know, do retweets count for the total for a #hashtag and if so, that leads to my idea.

While most of our tweets should be Poets related, what if we were to throw in a few tweets that relate to groups of people that follow us, but they might not necessarily be from our Poets group of friends and ask for retweets.
This is what I mean. I will use myself as an example, but it could pertain to any groups that follow you.

People have fan groups they follow and that follow them. I have a lot of people in the Supernatural fandom who follow me and they retweet anything Supernatural at the drop of a hat. What if I were to make a few of my tweets something like this...."#Supernatural fans! Retweet if you want a #season8!! #Poetsofthefall" Just include the Poets hashtag in with the tweet. It can be done with any type of fandom that is in your follow group. I know my SPN friends ignore my Poets tweets and vice versa, but if I included the other group in my tweet, might we get more retweets that way?? And like I say, the majority would be Poets related with a few randoms thrown on for possible rewteet by other groups. Is this a bad or good idea and is it in even legal in the twitter law to hashtag something not related to your tweet?? What do you guys think. Supernatural fans get things trending and that's why I would like to try and get my SPN friends doing it somehow...but it could be any group really. What say you guys??

Since I'm new to Twitter, it's somewhat difficult for me to understand how this all works. My question is: Must I make a new Tweet with #poetsofthefall once or often and/or should I retweet. Or combine all this and retweet everytime I see a tweet with it. Or how? What counts most?

We should ask Justin Bieber fans, they are trending almost everyday...

What did I say? :? #psycho

Unfortunately, as far as I know, retweets doesn't count... Or maybe I'm wrong...

No idea if retweets count. what I remember from last time is that we need a lot of people over a longer period of time and that if you tweet too much in one hour you get blocked by Twitter for one hours. I forgot what the magic number was though. 100 Tweets maybe?

It was about 150 if I remember correctly.

I don't think retweets count. And anyway: it's not the number of tweets, but the number of people using the hashtag that counts.

@Unity: you just need to write your normal tweets... and put #poetsofthefall in them.

Here you can see some examples: https://twitter.com/#!/search/%23poetsofthefall
here all the tweets containing the word #poetsofthefall are listed.
During the trending event it'll be extra fun to check this, cause there'll be many people tweeting that. It'll go from 'funny' to 'crazy' actually

Here is a link to the twitter limits page:
tweet limits

I couldn't find anything about retweets but it did say that our tweets have to related to the hashtag so my idea is out anyway. Oh well.
