Same here. I am going to wait to listen to the CD. I mean, it's going to be out soon. I can wait... and I would feel like it was some sort of treason too, if I listened to it before the 21st.

Mahoniara, you totally stole my idea! All listen the album next Saturday, in the evening, when no one gonna see me crying...

:D
Let's say I didn't steal it, but we just think alike in this matter

Nicely said, this is what I'd feel too.

Same here, it hasn't been easy and I know these last few days are going to be even harder...and like now...very bored on a Saturday night and it feels oh so tempting to go to YouTube...but I won't. I'll wait. Until Wednesday. It's not that far away. Really. I can make it. I know I can. :D

Am I the only one that wishes Balance Slays the Demon was on Temple of Thought? It's a fantastic track!

I'm happy with it not being on there, as it may not fit the theme of the album, plus it's Old Gods. But When ToT can be bought from the digi store, you can add it onto your own ToT! :D

Disclaimer: This is coming from someone who was totally blown by Late Goodbye, and I've been a fan ever since that day (has it really been almost 10 years? O_o ), and I've yet to hate any song from them, so no, I'm not just trolling to get you all riled up.
I do have to say, that after listening to the songs a few times there is definitely something missing. Nothing really stands out, and many of them seem to try to be too... massive? I don't really have a word for it, but it's like there's a lot of attempt to get that kind of stadium-like sound (strings, synth/keyboards that rise from the background), that just falls short. Again, I can't really explain what I mean, but I hope you kind of get it though. Also I think they've already used those effects before, and after a while they do wear out a bit.
Lyrics are great as usual, but I think that the songs themselves seem to be lacking some creativity. After running a playlist today from youtube, I still haven't been woken up by any of the songs. You know the feeling: you are doing something, and suddenly a song just grabs your attention, and totally holds you (Carnival of Rust <3 ). Well, maybe The Happy Song, but that's about it, and I don't think that the song itself is that good. It just wakes you up with it's totally different sound. I'd like to do a song-by-song thingy, but I don't want to impose my own impressions on you that much, so I'll just skip that. Suffice to say that I think that the album seems to be a bit dull and grey, with nothing really getting your attention. There was a bit of that in Twilight Theater, but some of the songs stood out enough to make me like that one, though less than the first 3.
Of course I'll have to listen to it more when I get my hands on the album on Wednesday, but right now I'm thinking that I won't be too happy with it :( Well, I guess all bands have to do a "worst" album at some point. And if this was any other band, I would probably just skip buying it altogether.

Happy people who can hold it in their hands in two days! I'm the unlucky one who'll have to throw oneself upon Russian post service's mercy :D But actually it compensates for all my *not virgin* listenings to the album!

I believe that's what the Poets themselves described as "cinematic rock", and they classified Twilight Theater under this genre. IMO, Temple of Thought follows in the same vein.

TT had great melodies, so this "cinematic" sound worked well because it never fell into cliché territory. But the issue with ToT is that the melodies themselves are not as original, and feel a bit "by the book", formulaic...
I still think it's a good album, good lyrics and pleasant to listen to, but definitely not their best. Better than most stuff out there, that's for sure.

Big re-opening of the Temple of Thought-topic after the official release on March 21st.

Please respect, that some of you folks who illegally downloaded the album are spoiling the fun and anticipation for all those, who are eagerly waiting for the official release.

Thank you. :)

Whoohoo! got it from digistore this afternoon (waiting for cd in post!) been listening all eve...

Words escape me... how do these guys create such mastepieces every time?! Always unique yet distinctly POTF... the emotions it creates when listening to it just swell in my chest, the only reprieve to listen again & again...

Stand outs for me: Running out of Time, Temple of Thought, The Lie Eternal (goosepimple song it's so good!) and Skin, but the entire album forms such a wonderful whole, not a single song I don't like...

Think I'll keep the rest of my thoughts to myself, no need to analyse, just gonna immerse myself in this music-scape and not return to the real world for a while... :D

It's 3am and I need to go to bed, but real quick, the album is fantastic! I can tell how much the guys put into this and I am so very grateful to them for it!! I will post more later today but for right now, let me just say that Morning Tide takes my breath away! It is simply beautiful!!!
And Skin...wow, just amazing!! And I so can't wait for a discussion on Jeremiah Peacekeeper, that song is just begging to be looked at deeper.
Once again, I love every song on a Poets album. Who else can do that??

One more comment I would make, is that even though Marko's singing is always amazing, on this album we really get to hear his range... Incredibly silky smooth, deep and rich, high and full, spine-tingling....

Plus Ollie's riffs and Captains production is incredible! Why these guys don't rule the world is beyond me... the world would be a better place for it... :P

The album is great.

Now we know the word on the cover of Kamikaze Love that none of us could read-
hijack.

:P

Edit: The lyrics of Skin, the house and the walls part, it reminded me of the CiL video...

Yep! And as I already said in the "PIcture galleries" thread: I rally want a poster of that on my wall! (hoping that if I say it often enough, someone will hear me and put it up in the store for sale :D )

Right now I really wish I could check my mailbox at home. ...

I told you I'm a Psycho

Lets just say Temple of Thought leftme disappointed to a great extent...I had bren too exhilarated to listen to it but tge first song that mildly attracted me told me that I was expecting too much. But my expectations from you guys had always been too high...a band that could give songs like Given n Denied or War or You're still here once has given ne a song like Kamikaze Love or Lie Eternal? SICK!!!
The album was purely NOISE...with just three songs to hold attention...Cradled in Love, Mornung Tide anf Temple of Thought..
If not being rude, The Happy Song was still better cuz atleast that voice could make me smile...where are the ballads, soul, meaning?

Technically we recognise Poets as a band that can serve us something different like a meaningful song in an age of rapping nd sheer noise...
Maybe my expectations were too high but a switchover to a style that is of no use and nothing different is pointless...get us more like the poets of Twilight Theatre...or Signs if Life...

Expecting much more cuz

I didn't get the cd today, there was only a Donald Duck comic waiting in the mail box, when I got home from school (oh me, I'm so unlucky because I had the newest Donald Duck comicbook in my mail box  )
Well, I hope I get the cd tomorrow and also the ToT t-shirt with it :D

Wish that I could. My parents can be paranoid about putting their credit card number online. So I have to use an itunes card.

Dammit. It wasn't in my mailbox this afternoon. I hope it will arrive today, or tomorrow at least (I remember the time I got SoL, LG and Lift in the mailbox the first time. It arrived at 6 pm or something, so I haven't given up hope just yet :P )
