Sure, this all makes sence. The song has to be catchy for the radio and when I think of the station I am listening to it can't be catchy enough  Okay, I have to say that I listen not so often to the radio because most of the time it sucks.

Anyway! For the radio it might work and I so hope it will work. And when it will be finally on air I know that my heart will beat faster. :)

But I still don't feel comfortable that some German guys think they can do any better to a Poets song. I listen to Poets because they sound like they sound. :)

I trust the guys to know what they are doing and to have watched over that. ;)
Besides: We get their own sound on the album and as long as that is the case I am happy, because I too listen to them for their original sound. :)

I understand very well, but I guess this isn't about being "better" or "worse", just a different take on the same source material. Also it's not a secret that it's easier to "sell" a song (or a version of song) when you have some hot names behind it. And let's face it - so far, no German radio station has played any POTF songs (minus some cases now and then, maybe). So there's really nothing to lose. :)

(Also, 99.99% of all bands in the world do not record, mix, arrange and produce their songs from start to finish all by themselves, they at least use an external mixing engineer, and often a producer, and 100% of people find nothing wrong or odd with that :))

I want to reply to this but I've been rewriting my message 10 times now. I don't want to offend anyone. I'm glad that they (POTF) do everything to get more airplay on German radio stations and if that requires "another" version of the song then it is. :) Making that other version, was that a request from Remote Music or from POTF themselves?

Message from DSoL below me comes from me aswell fcourse :)

It's like I often say: You do what you can with what you've got. I think we're so used to the Poets handling things on their own, that when they actually get assistance from somewhere else, some of us are inclined to think, "Infidel!"

Okay, maybe not quite that harsh, but you get my point. :P

We want the world to know POTF. They may have to do something like this in every new country they give their music to. All right, so be it. Change is always a little scary, because we don't know what's coming. We don't know if it will work. But the guys are pros, and will no doubt work with pros who know what they're doing. It's all for a good cause, so I'd just sit back and enjoy the journey. 8)

.... probably that's why before Poets of the Fall I never found a band from which I really love the whole album. It's so pleasant to sit down and listen to a cd from beginning to end and being not bored now and than. So thank you Poets for being 0,01% :)

And I can imagine that on 99,99% of the boards fans don't get so much infos and answers like here. Thank you so much for that :)

But I really understand what you're telling me.
It looks like that we, the fans, are more excited than Poets about the release

TA, you hit the nail on the head :)

@Admin: thank you for putting things in perspective for us. It's always interesting to read abit of behind the scenes information. :)

So many new things have been released over the past couple days that I simply have not been able to keep up with it all! I saw that POTF released a snippet of Kamikaze Love! Sounds...catchy, not bad. :/ Well, I won't say anything more considering (from what I gather anyway) that this version has been mixed by someone else as a radio edit... I agree though, this version doesn't sound quite as strong and passionate as POTF's music usually is... it kind of has an electropop feel to it. I love the melody though and I'm excited to hear the full original version! Definitely not drawing any conclusions after only 45 seconds. :)

Kamikaze Love is awesome, but not at all like I imagined when I read the title..

It's kind of annoying, first with THS and now this, to keep on replaying such a short clip.
Cannot wait for the full version to come out. :D

Oh and you lucky Germans!

So far only the domestic and German releases are confirmed?
Hopefully Russian release won't be very delayed, will it be published/manufactured by Soyuz as usual? Is there any hope they'll publish Alchemy v1 here as well?

Kamikaze Love can be pre-prdered at Amazon.de or Weltbild.de or jpc.de

Amazon is the cheapest option

Preview of Kamikaze Love sounds like Sunrise Ave's songs. That's not bad, cause I like them too, but... SA are more like German band, not Finnish. They always have most of gigs in Germany etc. Germans are always in a better position, maybe they just spend more money on music.
I can only have hope that Poets won't be another Finnish-German band. And they will conquer rest of Europe/world, not only one country. I know it will take a lot of time, but we have to be patient. Maybe someday there will be [here insert name of your country] edition... :D

Don't have any details yet, but AFAIK a Russian release is on the way too! :)

The reason for investing so much in Germany (out of all countries in the world) is its position in the music world. If you can "break" in Germany, doing the same in many other countries becomes much easier. These things follow certain rules that are not always so apparent to most "normal" music listeners (of course I consider you guys here to be above that basic level :)), but behind the scenes, there's a lot happening that concerns what is released, when, which countries, what kind of version of which song and album, and so on, to achieve the best results. And I mean for all bands, not just POTF.

That's exactly the one thing that bothers me about that sample. I don't want POTF to sound like anyone else, least like a band I hugely dislike.

But, I say it again: I trust them to know what they are doing and this is a good move to conquer the German market (after all, Sunrise Avenue are a huge success here).

I will buy the single to support the guys and wait until I have heard it in full before I judge. I like the lyrics I hear and I like the chorus, so it could be interesting after all. :) Just because I dislike the beginning of a 45 sec clip, I won't dismiss it as bad.

And if I should dislike the mix, I will happily listen to the album version. After all that admin has said here, I am convinced the album version will sound a lot more genuinely POTF-ish.

And meanwhile admin has explained some more and better than I could. Thanks again for the inside view. :)

I mean guys I'm pretty sure the album version won't have this electronic sound. If you check on the sample page:

Drums & Additional Synths recorded by Mic Schröder @ Valicon Studio4 Berlin
Drums - Cani Nickels

So the first part with the "electro" synth and drums it's probably part of the German mix.

I really wasn't aware of Germany being in any position in the music world. That surprises me!

One can learn some new things being a Poets fan

Thank you, Admin, so much again for all the explanations. I never thought about music in this way and to have a glimpse behind all is very interesting.

@Redbossfan, it's the same for me. I don't like SRA, but it's so hard to tell something about a song when you have less than a minute to decide.
And sure I will buy the single and I will support them.

Hey guys I was thinking you know, looking at the Temple of Thought album cover...

Maybe each song is a different tarot card!

...I guess...

that's not something to be taken for granted. Everytime I see interviews of other bands when they're like "we mixed the new album in this super-studio with this famous producer and this great mixing engineer to get this special sound", my first thought is like "whoa, POTF do all that by themselves (and have much better result  ). How on earth do they even do that?"

true :)

As for Kamikaze Love.. i can't wait for the whole song. And it'll be interesting to hear the two versions of it :)

Hey! I like Kamikaze Love! Very much! :)
Again something new, indeed! And different from what title made me think, I smelled wild in it, actually... On the contrary, listening to these first 45 secs, I find it sweet, somehow... and it has a female taste... Something into melody and lyrics... as if it's written to be sung by a girl/woman... or better, as if the male character puts himself in girl/woman's shoes... Yeah, yeah, I'm getting it totally wrong... probably! :P It's only 45 secs...
And being the German single version, electropop-sound fits it quite a lot ( I guess); IMHO, it has got what it takes to become a cool disco-piece, too! With a proper additional remix, 'course... 8) Cos they still play this kind of music, in disco, or not? :? It's a century I don't go to disco... :| However! I'd dance it for sure!

I guess when you have a singer like Marko(A True Poet of them All!),you won't be needing any of those masculine/feminine feelings cos you have such an edgy soul that would exemplify both the feelings :)

You find it (or any other song) too gay? Skip to The Happy Song then ;)

Ah, thank you redbossfan :) I wrote earlier that I'm not convinced by the 45 sec clip and this was exactly the reason; it sounded wayyyy too much like Sunrise Avenue and I...well...don't like them very much (to be polite) :D I'm glad someone else had the courage to say the exact words I had on my mind :)

However, I repeat myself; I'll stay positive and open minded and more than anything I wish Poets will conquer the world 8)

Still, we live in a strange world where their song was the most played song in the German radios last year, like it or not... :)

^^ that's what I meant when I said it's the right sound for German radio - their songs get played here all the time (judging by the fact that I listen to the radio half an hour a day and still come across at least one of their songs every week).
