I wonder was "The Happy Song" written or made exclusively for AW or was it actually intended for the new album and that it just worked out for the game?

I suppose after all if you weren't too crazy about this song you could take it as a bonus song even though it isn't technically labeled as such.

This "Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper" could be the real album closer if you wanted it to be.

Supposing that it's the traditional ballad? but just cause ballad is in the title doesn't even mean it is one so who knows lol ya just never do with POTF :P

If we hadn't heard it in advance, I don't think anybody would've guessed what a song titled "The happy Song" would sound like

Hey guys i know why The Happy Song is the last song of the upcoming album! Temple of Thought is like a labirynth and looks like we are gonna drawn in our own minds to find somethink really wicked in the end. I'm really afraid that my brain will burn after i heard all the mindblowing songs and then i will become a PSYCHO! Or maybe not... but the risk is worth it anyway :D

New song is really cool and change my state of mind. I feel so unreal somehow. Do you remember the clown that appears in Alan Wake War videoclip? I think he was the one who tells Marco that he is a Psycho! It's like he possesed Marco soul to write this song

I see a connection between "Psychosis" and "The Happy Song":

In "Psychosis" Marko sings:
"...Psychosis by recreation
Happy till the next deterioration..."

Well... "the mental deterioration" seems to be reached in "The Happy Song"!

There's elements of both, actually. The song is based on an old demo that was made without any particular purpose in mind (other than to make a fun song), but the version you are listening to now was arranged specifically for the game.

From what I have heard, it's indeed a ballad, but depends on your definition of "traditional" if you consider it to be one or not. :D

While waiting tomorrow, I couldn't resist - I visited on Youtube and listened to the full version of The Happy Song. A couple of times, actually  The first thing that came to my mind was "this is purely PERFECT!" and my smile was something between  & - quite close to that smile on the cover art of TT

With the word 'perfect' I really mean, perfect. Not only because I love the song, but the boys were meant to do a psycho song and they managed perfectly. There's nothing too much, nothing's missing, everything fits just perfectly. If you ask me, THS is mad, insane, complete, perfect (I don't use that word anymore, I promise!), mindless, piece of art... It is a real psycho song! Listening to it really makes me laughing and smiling and feeling like I was on cloud nine!

Marko sounds amazing, he really cathces up that psychotic tone. Olli makes history with his guitar playing (OMG what an epic guitar solo! *the smile I mentioned* ) and Captain makes all those wonderful crazy little tricks and outlines the song. And then we have the name... Well, is someone still thinking it should be different? I can't imagine any other name to this song. 'The Happy Song' is the cherry on top, it's a perfect name. Oops, sorry 8)

And yes, I think THS is kinda demanding song and doesn't blow everyone's mind. That's why I respect Poets: they're very courageous and do things differently, in their own way, even though it's a bit risky. Taking a risk can also bear fruit :)

Today (!!) I'll be able to buy THS and BStD! And seems like Remote music is going to release a piece of news :D Hmm, I know today is a better day ;)

Phew.

Does this mean that the song that we will hear on the album will be a different cut? (longer) or a vastly different take on the same song?
Just curious ; ) I thought i would hate the song but i love it now that i've really listened to it.

I understand it will be slightly different, but the differences are pretty marginal (could be just new mix & mastering and nothing else).

I'm glad I kept myself so far from buying the songs on iTunes! :P

And I think POTF should start with midnight releases ^^

@Chen, Yeah, I can see how it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. And you don't have to like it. Don't be sad, I'm sure the whole album won't be like that and you'll find songs that you will like in there. What did you think about Cradled in Love?

I suppose you are right, thank you!
I love Cardled in love very much!, and Balance Slays The Demon is a good song either!.

I dont know why I took "the happy song" too personally..

Well, it makes sense doesn't it? You don't expect a psycho to sing well formed proper poetry with lots of words!

It's crazy and it's meant to be.
It's awesome and it's meant to be.

Well, I think it's too early to have any sort of opinion about the album. Personally, I love The Happy Song as a single or a song alone, but I'm not sure how it would sound as the finale... :? I've ever been against "A fast song as the final song". But who knows, maybe POTF would change my mind...

Bought both new songs and I've become a fan of FLAC files now :D
The Happy Song sounds even better (if that can be possible)
And finally the full Balance Slays The Demon, and it's really wonderful! I too like the calm part in the middle, and Olli's solo is great as always (altho I do love The Happy Song solo a little bit more...)! :)

OH MY... Kamikaze Love will be the German single.. and you can hear a bit of it from here.

Again, unusual sound... and, again, I LOVE IT! *.*

I've found out that for POTF there's something I feel really quick about songs: some just give me tears in my eyes at first listening. Happened with War, NENB, THS... and Kamikaze Love gave me that kind of feeling too ♥

Oh so I was right about the Germamn Single being a ifferent one. :)
Sounds unusual, i.e., not what I expected, but I like it

Edit: And there will be a real, physical single - yes!!! *happy dance*

Note that the single (=radio) version is mixed in Germany, and a little different from the one on the album. Which means you get even more music, of course. :)

^^I noticed that. Also Remote Music tweeted that this version was not on the album. What I find even more intreguing is that the tweet cotained "who says the album release here will be the same?" - does that mean there will be a different version of the album in Germany?
