But yeah, pretty weird coincidense, that's why I was going to lose my jaw. :P

By the way, a little correction: I meant I wrote that story-thing the day before Skin-tweet, not yesterday. This is one of these absent-minded days.

Yep. And then it turns out it's more like... More or... CotEG

So 9 so far... I can assume that there's going to be at least 11 songs, considering that we still miss The Happy Song and a slow closing song (if they still go on with that scheme).
That's great!!!

I guess the last part of the trilogy can’t be perfectly similar to the previous ones at least because of the six years of hard work which past after the Carnival of Rust.

By the way, there will be 11 tracks! :)

"The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper" sounds interesting. and there will be 11 songs as they say. "(hey, we have one more to go!)"

If The Happy Song is going to be on the album and there's only one more to go, that would mean... no ballad as the last song of the album?

The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper.
Sorry, but I really don't know what to think.
I don't know what to write either.

"The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper" - a ballad, I think. (think. Geez, I don't know what to think.)
But... If someone guessed THIS one... 8)

I first thought it would be OGOA....

But then there was this:
http://rewindpoets.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/269-potforogoa.jpg

And this:
http://rewindpoets.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/272-thehappysong.jpg

I feel like I don't know anything anymore. :D So I'm not going to give an opinion on this particular POTF or OGOA topic anymore...

Edit: I just noticed... (how silly I am). The comment in the latter link can mean 2 different things, actually. That you can get it from Alan Wake or from the album. It can mean that you can get it from either one, which ever suits you. Or it can mean that you can get it from one or the other (not both), but they're not yet telling which one.
I was going with the first interpretation, so for a while I thought it's going to be on the album.

And as a result... I still think it's OGOA (but that's only my guess, nothing else).

I have a lot of songs by blues artists with "The ballad of" at the beginning so based on that I'm guessing it'll be a blues influenced song :P . It's fun to speculate.

I'll stick with what I've said initially: It sounds like OGOA to me - you can all go and laugh at me if I'm wrong. :D Oh and of course it could be Poets and still not be on the album, because it's a AW exclusive. Who knows? To me the FB message does not sound like and either..or.. though

I also had the "Dawn" association with "Morning Tide", but also lots of images again. "The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper" leaves me completely blank, other than that it makes me think of folk songs (which is not a bad thing fro me at all) and somehow leads me to believe that this will not be a typical POTF song. Then again, what's a typical POTf song anyway? ;)

@Dark Side of Light

O___O

Okay. If THS is going to be in ToT, our dear Poets have either named it differently or are changing their album style... Or sth...

// "The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper" reminds me of The Poet and the Muse... Oh my. I shut up now and stop thinking too much. Or maybe try to make some sense of this AFTER school...

I have an explanation. The Happy song will be an OGOA song but it will be a bonus song on Temple of Thought after the usual closing ballad. Did I win? :)

I thought this, too. And think that THS is an OGOA song. But. You never know :?

I am sorry but that is just bizarre.

I was literally O_O when I saw the title..

It's a surprise(no surprise. Poets keep surprising us.(what is that, irony, paradox? expecting surprises! Oxymoron... Okay, I'll shut up.)). I can't think of anything but how weird the title is.

@Dark Side of Light: When that question was asked it was well known that Alan Wake has the song. Hence, it obviously means that the first interpretation is right.

....Which means we already know the 11th song. :O

My honest first impression was that "The Ballad of Jeremiah Peacekeeper" is some kind of joke, but now that I've thought about it more, the song could be pretty epic.

The name makes me think of some kind of "storyteller" song where there's some music on the back, and a calm voice is telling a beautiful/mysterious/etc. story or poem. The whole song wouldn't necessarily be like this, but in some parts, for example in the end which sets the mood for the final album song.

I'm most likely wrong but I've always had a major eargasm with these kind of songs so :P

I imagine Jeremiah Peacekeeper like a hero, who is desperately seeking his lost lady in a deep forest...

Now I really hate that I thought it was a joke  Must be because I had just gotten up from bed and was thinking about twisted Happy Songs about psychotic killers.

The name really has a lot of potential. Wish it was March today :(

Just shot in the dark about "The Happy Song", but do you remember this
http://www.poetsofthefall.com/secret/
Maybe the song would be available there?

I no longer know that either XD

This is exactly the 3rd time that at first sight I wonder if a tweet is true :D

anyway, for the song: I think either something like You're Still Here (I mean.. not exactly like that, just something like that), or an epic kind of song. You know, the kind that lasts minimum 10 minutes, with some variations and so on? That would be cool :D they said they've done some experimentation ^^

So tomorrow's the last song
I didn't expect The Happy Song to be the last track of the album
Will it really be it? At first I thought it was OGOA, then some comments and tweets suggested it was POTF... may there be a new turn in the story? gosh, you're sure driving us psychos! ^^

Sam Lake himself tweeted that the song was called "The Happy Song" and was by POTF.. but it might have been a joke (like: it's a merry happy song perfrormed by POTF!).
Or it might be by POTF and not be on the album (like Grinder's Blues).

Or POTF might have decided that a thing to esperiment was quitting the "soft song as finale" and having a psycho songthere instead.

Or we all might be part of the esperiment by POTF, that consisted in driving your fans mad with enigma. if so.. great done guys, you succeded!

Well, if the last song is not a calm ballad, then you need to stand your ground... (cheers for the people who understand this :))

Yes, cheers

This Jeremiah Peacekeeper reminded of Green Day who tend to create a storyline with characters for their albums (at least the latest two ones)

I just realized something: tomorrow Alan Wake will be released, right?
They'll announce tomorrow the last track... and it just might be exactly The Happy Song, that's also featured in AW that's released tomorrow. It'd make sense. Evil plan or lucky coincidence... or mere speculation by me.

Yes, I know I could easily wait for tomorrow to know the answer, but it's too funny to make up thoughts whil waiting
No, I don't have a life, why you ask? :|

Ediit, because I meant to answer to this:

Just because he pointed out the song was made by POTF it doesnot necessarily mean they will release it under their own name. Yes, I will stick by my theory about it being OGOA until proven wrong!

I'm not upset at all, hence the wink smiley. And I have no problem whatsoever with them being amused by what I say or post here - quite the contrary. :)
Sorry about the misunderstanding. :)
