oooh - there can be several distances, for example between humans in general, between friends, family members and so on...

distance between light and darkness, good and evil, poor and rich, depth and height, silence and din etc., like two extremes??? *thinking*

and how to handle them... maybe how to bring those opposites together like Ying and Yung...

hmm... whats about our egoisms that makes it impossible to put those opposites together - just popped up in my mind :?

The distance between all that has already been said about ToT and the real significance of the album...

Maybe the guys have some sort of telepathic abolity for writing songs...

This one, The Distance, it's like I know what the song must be about... but for sure I'm not sure. :P

Another way to think of The Distance could be in context of emotions...
I mean in a way our beloved Poets always sing about things in life with their focus on love and trust - in what form whatsoever. So maybe in this temple of thought they wonder how emotionally detached one could be in face of a relationship?

(Just don't mind my jumled thought on that matter for I know next to nothing about emotions except that I could not handle them)

Somebody here said that maybe some of the song names could be fake (like a joke). I have another theory: What if the tweets themselves try to hint for the last song's name?
Quote:
And it only gets darker from here...
Deeper and deeper...
And further and further...

What do you think?

So many images in my head and associations oon my mind right now that I cannot put into words. All caused by this one tweet. :D Just jdging by the songtitles alone this is my favorite so far, but of course it could all turn around once we actually get to hear these songs.

No idea, I've never had the titles so long in advance so I#ve never put any thought into what they could belike before I actually listene to them. *shrugs*

@Arvigeus: I think you might be on to something there.

Based on the song titles so far, I think this album will surprise me. And I think I'm really going to like the album. With some of the previous albums, before the release, I've been scared that I'm not going to like it (but then I always have). I don't have that kind of a feeling this time. Maybe I've come to trust POTF. :)

@Arvigeus, it almost sounds like line of the lyrics to me, new tweet also fits: "it only gets darker/from here deeper and further/while life awaits..." I can almost hear that :D

I can't help the feeling that it will be that a little sad and full of concern album. Concern about world and humanity: we're lying, we're running out of time, we're separated by distances (that's the Fall part). But maybe we can also end up Cradled in Love  Only The Happy Song doesn't fit my theory so far, I admit :P

I know basing this just on the tracks titles is crazy, but it's a great way to sweeten the waiting.

To save some extra requests to Twitter's servers, the tweets are cached locally and updated every ten minutes. So once a new tweet is added, it takes 0-10 mins for it to appear here.

well, 'Show me This Life' leaves us with hope for a really better life not only for a few individuals but for all of humanity, a life that differs from what there can be seen in this world today...where enough will be enough again - enough material things for all to live where no one lives on the expense of others, where the real values count, such as trust, honesty, friendship, where everyone perceives a responsibility for the neighbor, this would be a new society all over the world.... dreaming of this life :D ...Utopia ?

but who knows... there's always hope

It's like.. the person is sad.. because of whatever life he is leading.
And then some wonderful person comes to save him or something, and then the person requests to please get him out of his miserable life and show him that life of happiness....

that is my guess.

somewhat similar to what Unity said.

Imagine...

thundering and pounding waves of the tide try every morning to take you with them into the ocean....

a day-to day routine without thinking about of what we are doing or not doing, the mainstream style of thinking of the surroundings/environments can be such morning tide, when you get up, so you have to strenghthen yourself to not to drift away with these waves into the ocean of thoughtlessness and shallowness and to drown...

so Brave the crashing waves...

Hey! The same happened to me, but with the name Skin! (Actually, the day before I made a "poem" or a little story about my feelings and the word "skin" was very important part of it.) When I saw the tweet, I just stared at it for a while, jaw dropping  For now it's one of my favorite song names from ToT.

Morning Tide reminds me of Dawn... (Or rather it's lyrics, I think. ) Really I've no idea. I guess 1st and 2nd are stronger (and maybe 4th and 6th, too?)... but we'll see :)

I know the feeling  but seriously, you've undoubtedly got to a higher ground as i would have never had a chance of guessing the Skin word

And about the 'Morning Tide' title, only a slow song can come into my mind :?

an observation, that will surely get me crucified by angry crowd...

TOT artwork uses square logo while SOL/COR use curvy logo
so, from design standpoint, one less proof for the "trilogy" idea

Not crucified, but once again I can explain how things actually are.

The "curvy" logo has not been used anywhere by the band after the "blocky" logo was designed in 2008. The reason is that the new logo is much easier to fit into different layouts, since it uses its space more efficiently than the old one, plus its more readable. The old logo is pretty horrible typographically, and it's understandable if the band does not use it any more.

So it's just a question of "old" and "new" designs. Just like with promo pics, when new ones are released, old ones are removed from the site, and hopefully other sites will start using the new pics too. Old ones belong in the past, and renewing logos and promo pics once in a while is part of basic brand building.

The trilogy idea is in the theme of the albums (mainly lyrics and the ideas behind them), not in some font on the front cover.

(Besides... wouldn't sharing logos etc. with some old albums be exactly the kind of cheap and gimmicky way of creating a sense of a loose trilogy...?)

Just a side mention: would be really cool if the shop stocked patches with the new logo, only the old one is available... love putting my favourite band patches on my bag, but an updated POTF one would be really cool!
