true, I think some U2 songs would sound good POTF style. Also something like I'll go crazy if i don't go crazy tonight ^^

Hehe... Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me, just perfect for POTF, YEP! Agreed also about I'll go crazy... :)
So curios about so many U2 songs in POTF version, actually:
Vertigo
The Fly
Electrical Storm
Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own
Staring at the Sun
One
Elevation
All Because of You
Original of the Species
...
And what about October?!!! (guitar version, maybe, or it could be the chance for a Captain piano solo, even Marko's one! However, no doubt about his interpretation...)
And Party Girl!!! So delicious "silly song" (I can see them performing this song, sooo well  )
And don't forget about Tomorrow...

The first thing that came to my mind was The Cardigans - My Favourite Game. I tried to think of others but nothing really came to mind. Many have mentioned different 30STM songs, so I'll go for one too: Echelon <3
One more: Bleak feat. Ana Johnsson and Kimmo Pohjonen - Fate. And I'll nominate TheArtist for the Ana Johnsson parts ^^

Coldplay - Major Minus

IAMX - Spit It Out
(would sound SOO amazing with Marko's voice)

Good Charlotte - Victims of Love

Combichrist - Through These Eyes of Pain

HIM - Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart

Lostprophets - Sway

I think those songs would sound beyond amazing in a PotF-Version :)

Another interesting song would be I'm so excited by Pointer sisters...not only because of the lyrics but of the way Marco would get them across. We all know how energetic he is ( ' Im so excited and I just can't hide it!')

Some songs from Phil Collins could be awesome aswell ...maybe Two worlds from Tarzan ( Disneymovie and musical)

Agreed about Phil Collins, thinking of In The Air Tonight and Another Day In Paradise... and True Colors... "In the way of POTF"...
And by the way, I imagine Poets so well performing also Mama and Land of Confusion by Genesis... SO COOL! 8)
Oh and No Son of Mine, too!

Why would one do that? It is said that imitation would be a high form of respect/ admiration... I wonder what Sanatarium or Nothing Else Matters would sound like if Poets took a chance at them :) ...or what about Sandman? Would be a nice continuation to sleep?

A featuring this time but the other way around:

Apocalyptica feat. Marko Saaresto

Wouldn't that sound appealing? 8)

I seriously think the poets could do an amazing cover of "Imagine".

Such an iconic song, but they'd do it justice.

I think it'd be awesome if they covered a song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol... :)

What a great topic! I think the possibilities are limitless on covers for them, personally, here is what my list would look like:

Nine Inch Nails - In This Twilight, Discipline, The Great Below, And All That Could Have Been, pretty much any NIN cover would blow my mind!

Collective Soul - The World I Know, Better Now, She Said, Run, Adored, Tremble For My Beloved, Compliment, Crown.. Heck, even the whole Dosage album itself!

Nickelback - If Everyone Cared, Good Times Gone, Leader Of Men, If Today Was Your Last Day, I now there is a huge difference in vocal styles, but Leader of Men and a few of these would be rather interesting to hear from Marko's perspective..

Kiss - Journey Of 1,000 Years, Dreamin', A World Without Heroes, everyone loves a bit of Kiss sometime in their lives, but that first one would be even more epic than it's original version coming from Poets!

Seether - Here And Now, Broken, Plastic Man, Rise Above This, poets would really make these songs sound unique, that's for sure..

Shinedown - Burning Bright, If You Only Knew, Lost In The Crowd, Some Day, What A Shame, Shed Some Light, if anyone can bring the vocal power and emotion that can touch what Brent smith does to the songs, it's Marko and the rest of the guys with Poets, so pretty much, POTF can deliver any of these perfectly.. :)

Might be the Xmas mood, but I think Santa Claus is Coming To Town would rock: I could imagine sooo well Marko singing lines like "He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good.. so be good, for goodness sake" :D

maybe it reminds me a little of "the candyman can.." ^^

:D :D Whenever I read those lines I hear Bruce Springsteen singing them (I have a few times at different concerts, most memorable in Tampere in June 2009). Sorry for the off topic.

I'm sorry, but I'd like to hear some Disney covers!

My reason for that is my imagination. Can you imagine Ollie, Captain and Marko doing "Hakuna Matata?" Hehehe. :) I think "Reflection" from Mulan would be a great song for them..

Off the Disneymoble now, I have thought of some other covers that I'd think they'd do well.

"Flightless Bird, American Mouth" - Iron and Wine

I personally like this song for the softness it brings. Even playing it live on the guitar it sounds like a lullaby, and this is a trait I admire in this song and quite a few of the Poets songs. I can just imagine Marko's voice singing this song! :)

"Company You Keep" - H is Orange

This song is kind of rough, but the lyrics are good and have a nice flow. I think that it is just me, but I think it would be kind of neat to hear a POTF version of that song. :D

"Our Town" - Iris Dement (feat. Emmylou Harris)

This is a personal favorite. It's an old country song, but it was my Great Grandmothers favorite song. Iris has such a unique voice so it'd be hard to make a good cover of this song, but I would completely trust the Poets judgement with it. :D

Oh I love Iron and Wine. I could actually imagine Marko doing some of Sam's other song too. The lyrics are pretty cool. Weird but cool!

Wow, Disney songs would be awesome (as a Disney fan it sounds awesome to me) :P
Haha, "Hakuna Matata" could be quite funny and I thought about "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" also

I think something from Tarzan would be great, like "Strangers Like Me", "You'll Be In My Heart" or "Two Worlds". Or something from Tangled, "I See the Light" would be nice.

No, I'm not in a Disney mood right now
