This thread can be used to ask questions about location, tickets and such.

General

If you are planning to attend a gig outside your own country, you might need a visa to go there. So please check on that if you don't know before you plan a trip.
If you are planning to bring your camera to the gig and take pictures, please read these rules first. Or read them on suomeksi.

Summer Tour 2013

Finland

01.06.2013 Virgin Oil, Helsinki
- tickets
- age limit 18
- location

Russia

28.06.2013 Park Live Festiva!, Moscow
- tickets - the site says eTickets are available for registered users . I didn't try if that works though.
- more on FB or VK
- location
- the closest metro station is VDNKh (ВДНХ‎) about 2 km away. - Moskow metro map - it's the metro line 6. There are several bus stops closer to the area.

Finland

- age limit: 22
- tickets
- location of the hotel. The club is at the hotel. Address: Hertaksentie 2
01300 Vantaa

02.08.2013 Siltakemmakat, Puumala
- tickets
- The site says the location is Pumala harbor. There is also a restaurant Satama there, so I would guess it is close to that
- map of the area
- if you rely on public transport, you can find busses to Puumala at Matkahuolto

Cancelled! 31.08.2013 MS Isabella
- age limit: 21
- go to "online Booking", select "Helsinki" as the starting point, add the correct date, then chose the Helsinki-Tallinn-Helsinki night cruise on the "MS Isabella"
- Information about the terminal and transportation

Accomodation, Transportation, other useful Information

a bit of general information about concerts and clubs in Germany (for those coming from other countries)
- the tickets state the start time of the concert! Often, they also state when the doors open, preceeded by the word "Einlass"
- the age limit is determined by local law: Unaccompanied teenagers must be at least 16 years old to visit a concert. Some clubs have an age limit of 18 - if so, that can be found on the club's website.
- admission to conncerts is often chaotic, because somehow Geramans are unable to form a line ;) Just go with the flow, you'll be fine

A bit of general information about concerts and clubs in Finland (for those thinking of travelling there for a gig):
- the time stated on the tickets is the time when the doors open, not the start time of the concert. If there's a time span listed it means the opening hours of the club. If the time for opening is listed separately, it says "ovet auki" (= doors open)
- people who go to a gig early usually arrive at the venue about 30 minutes before the doors open, 1 hour at the most. Quite a few come long after the doors have opened, just in time for the concert. So if you (like I) are from a country where people think they have to line up all day just relax - it really is not necessary. :)
- people line up at the door and they wait their turn, so no pushing and shovving or trying to get to the front of the line (as my countryfolks often do  ). Believe me, it is so much more relaxed this way.
- clubs often have a sort of door charge. It is officially the money you pay for the cloakroom, when you hand in your coat, but many clubs expect you to pay no matter if you have a coat to hand in or not. It usually costs between 2 and 3 €
- some nightclubs have a dress code. If so it is usually listed on their website.
- All clubs have an age limit. the lowest is 18, but it can be 20, 22 or 24. Be prepared to be asked to verify your age at the door.
- At festivals there is often no age limit indicated.

Here's some general info about accommodation in Finland (hotels, hostels, b&b)

- Helsinki: http://www.helsinki.fi/en/index/matkailu/majoitus.html
- Vantaa: http://www.vantaa.fi/en/tourism/accommodation/hotels or you could stay in Helsinki and take the train/bus
- Turku: http://www.turkutouring.fi/en/kohteet/2221%202222%202223%202224%202225
- Tampere: http://www.visittampere.fi/accommodation

Not in all cities, but in more and more: Omena hotels
Functional rooms, no breakfast, but starting at 45 € a night for the room (that houses up to 4 people). Usually centrally located too. So far in: Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Jyväskylä, Vaasa, Seinäjoki, Lahti, Pori and Oulu.

Travel in Finnland

- by train: www.vr.fi (advance tickets are much cheaper, can be booked 60 days in advance)
- by bus: www.matkahuolto.fi

Buying tickets offline in Finnland:
- tickets can usually be bought directly at the venue (at least at the door on the day of the concert). However, POTF gigs sometimes sell out in advance, so if you're coming from far away, I would advise you to buy tickets beforehand (especially if you are planning to attend a gig in Helsinki or Tampere).
- Sometimes tickets are not sold online and are only available at the venue directly.
- Also, the online sellers have ticket outlets in several cities:tiketti, lippupalvelu, piletti and
lippu

In theory, you need just one address:

http://www.livenation.fi/artist/poets-of-the-fall-tickets

There's always (or almost always :)) a link to get tickets, information about the venue, etc.

A bit of general information about Russian visa requirements (for those thinking of travelling there for a gig):
- from most countries you will need a tourist visa to go to Russia. It is my experience that it takes a few weeks to get one so plan early. General rule: The quicker you need it, the more expensive it gets. I am not going to go into details here as they will differ by county.
- There seems to be an exception if you go to St. Petersburg via ferry and stay only 72 hours, but I don't know the specifics here, i.e. which other conditions apply and which country's citizens are allowed to travel visa free.
- You will have to show the visa to enter the county, you also have to show it of you are planning to go from St.Petersburg to Moscow via train. I would assume it is the same if you fly, but I don't know.
- these are just some hints to point you in the right direction. I feel that more details would be too much.

- location

Nazrul Manch, Kolkata
- location I am finding two different addresses for this. The one on the map is Southern Avenue, Rabindra Sarabar, Opposit Poddar Court, Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata. I found this one more commonly. I also found a website that says it is located here: golpark, kolkata, WEST, 700071, IN. I have no iidea what's wrong or right.

Germany

Age limit: LiveNation say 18 for all concerts, but I did not find anything on the Clubs' websites and generally the legal age to go to a concert alone in Germany is 16 (provided that it's over by midnight). anyone under 16 needs a parent or legal guardian with them.

C-Club, Berlin
- location of the club
- Public transport: U6 to "Platz an der Luftbrücke", Bus 119 to "Flughafen Tempelhof" or Bus 104 to "Friesenstraße"
- Little warning: If you are planning to bring a pen to get stuff signed, hide it well. Last time I was there (in 2008 when it was still the "Columbia Club") they took two markers away from me at the door, and reasoned they were afraid I was gonna "write things on the toilet walls otherwise". I kid you not. And the pens were in the inside pocket of my purse so they actually searched really well. Not sure if it's still the same, but be prepared.

Backstage, Munich
- location of the club
- public transport: S to "Hirschgarten" or Bus 152, N43, N44 "Hirschgarten" or "Wilhelm-Hale Str" or Tram 16/17/N16 to "Steubenplatz" or Tram 18/19/N19 to "Lautensackstrasse"

Kantine, Cologne
- location of the club
- public transport: Straßenbahn 12 or 15 "Wilhelm-Sollmann-Str."

FZW, Halle, Dortmund
- location of the club
- public transport: U43 or U44 to "Westentor" or "Unionstraße", but you can also easily walk from the main train station.

Uebel & Gefährlich, Hamburg
- location of the club
- public transport: U3 or Bus 3 to "Feldstraße"

Alte Seilerei, Mannheim
- you can switch the site to English in the upper right corner above the search results
- location of the club The Map does not say "Alte Seilerei" in that spot, but this address is given on their website.
- public transport: Tram RNV1 to "Neckarau, Friedrichstraße" or train or Bus 710to " Neckarau, Bahnhof",

Travel in/to Germany

- train. Special offers can be booked from 92 days in advance - much cheaper than regular tix.
- cheap flights can be found atwww.swoodoo.com for example. Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Hamburg have their own airports. So does Dortmund, but it may be cheaper to fly to Düsseldorf (58 km distance to Dortmund). To travel to Cologne, Düsseldorf airport is also an alternative (58 km distance to Cologne). Weeze airport is in the middle of nowhere (130 km from Cologne or Dortmund). For Hamburg you can also fly to Lübeck (80 km to Hamburg) Mannheim also has an airport. The closest big one is Frankfurt (75 km to Mannheim)

Also, Live Nation doesn't provide any info about the town in general, places to stay overnight and so on. And there are sometimes questions about those (like now with Seinäjoki), especially from inexperienced/young travellers.

^^ True, but I find they are rather slow on updating sometimes. Also the information is not necessarily the same on the English version of the site as on the Finnish one (at least it wasn't last year). Just trying to help and avoid multiple threads. :)

Also, for at least one of the gigs the age limit information differed from the one given on the club's website.

Yeah, that's why I said "in theory"... :D Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

^^ :D I noticed that and you're welcome. :)

Now if I can't go to so many gigs next year, someone else will have to take over ;)

@DSOL: do you think it's a good idea to add hote information too? I can collect whatever people post here and edit it into the first post.

If you think it's necessary and you want to do it... otherwise I'd just let the thread go on and that kind of info can be posted only if someone's asking for it (the main info being how to get tickets + age limits + possibly info on the venue and starting time). It's your thread, you decide :D I'll just help out if you need me to. (We're nicely offtopic-ing already, a great start.)

yay for us! ;) :P

And considering hotels you are right: I'll add info if people ask.

So, everyone who wants to go to the gigs and needs help, here's your thread.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions and I'm sure someone will be able to answer (or point you in the right direction).
Also if you have any helpful information, please post it here. Thank you.

Tickets (I assume the locations are all in Bangalore):

The tickets will be available at the venue itself and all those who want to buy it in advance can do so at the outlets above.

The locations that you've mentioned are actually in Hyderabad. I suspect you got these from http://www.kingfisherworld.com/tgiof/ - the content as of now hasn't been updated for the Bangalore Oktoberfest

I spent quite some time trying to find it myself, I wanted to check the age limit before buying the ticket.

If you have to travel from gig to gig by train here is the link from where you can buy tickets and look for the timetable

http://www.vr.fi/en/index.html

Buying tickets in advance is much cheaper ...

I didn't find any certain information about this, but when you think the event is Octoberfest and advertises "loads of beer", I would think the age limit is 18 years, since that is the legal drinking age in the state of Karnataka.

ktpo.org website (If I'm correct, that is the venue of the concert) seems to be down, but koovs.com (the ticket seller) has a phone number you can call for information: Call +080-22251100 (24 hours, 6 days a week).

I hope someone else has sure information, or that you can somehow find it out yourself. Sorry I couldn't help you more than this.

Wow, this is really a good topic, thank you, redbossfan!
We bought our tickets for Helsinki's gig at Tikketi.fi. Quick, nice price and pdf-tickets!
 watching at them and waiting ))

^^ Thank you Nat! You can help gather information for Russia when we need it again (next year). It is always hard to find info there if you can't read the language.

I have added hotel/hostel/B&B info for Bangalore. Don't know if that helps though. Maybe soemone local can say more about this.
The venue's website is back online and has contact information as well. Maybe they know about an age limit.

Edit: Turku tickets are available now!

Someone asked for this on FB, so I added links to ticket outlets and information to the Tampere concert for those who want to buys tickets offline. I no longer have an FB account so I can't answer there directly.

Buying tickets offline:
- tickets can usually be bought directly at the venue (at least on the day of the concert)

Should you maybe add that this isn't always possible because POTF gigs get sold out beforehand now and then? As you know, people may not always check what has been going on with previous gigs and first timers might make assumptions that it's always possible to get tickets at the venue on the day of the concert.
