Oh yeah, the infamous Space Debris is there :) Now I just have to have it (not that I wouldn't have wanted it anyway) ;)

What I wouldn't give for a game themed gig with songs from Alan Wake and Rochard...

So, I don't have a Facebook account, I was one hour late to participate the competition anyway and I don't have an MP3 player....... Can I borrow a kitten, Ben? :|

What, did someone say second chance....... Interesting.......

EDIT: There, I certainly hope the second chance works with me!
Pleeeeease! Work! Or then cry and work!

I've heard Grinder's Blues and... I'm sorry, but I don't like it. I'm very sad about this. Just listened to it once, and I don't want more. I'll give myself some time, but I don't think I'd love this song :(

I was dying to listen to the whole song and I love it :D The second stanza is wicked awesome :D Great country - bluesy style and I adore the character of Marko's voice here - like a bit hoarse... (sorry, I don't know how to describe it well even in Polish, let alone English, it's just a "thing" ). Besides, it will be the best song to light up my very early mornings.

I'll be very grateful for the lyrics, I'm always doubting my hearing. (That reminds me: can we get Old God Of Asgard songs' lyrics also on the site? I know they're somewhere in the internet, but it would be nice :) )

Oh, remix of the Space Debris is equally great

Old Gods of Asgard lyrics

I like Grinder's Blues. I love the difference to everything else POTF, love the singing. Might say more when I have listened a few more times.

I find Grinder's Blues very interesting. Very guitar driven, very unlike everything they have made before. And the reason I love it: You can hear from the very recording that they have had much fun making this song!

I have the same impression. It sounds like lots of fun.
Still trying to pick my favorite from the instrumentals. :)

You should consider Grinder's Blues as part of the soundtrack, and written specifically for the Rochard universe, rather than a genuine POTF song. It could have been released under a fictional band name like Old Gods of Asgard, but in the end, for one reason or another, they still decided to keep it under the POTF brand. :)

I like this song :) At least it's interesting. Even if I don't think about Marko singing, I find the way of this singing lovely  And the music of course.

Phuuuh, nothing so bad that something good can't happen. I managed to salvage my old laptop partially. It starts now, and all the files are there unharmed. It doesn't work very well anymore though so I guess it's time to wave bye-bye to it and just learn to deal with the new laptop.
Anyway, teh soundtrack :) Grinder's Blues seems to bring forth opinions. Have to say I don't like country music at all in general, but Olli's wonderful guitar is making this song a little better than just tolerable for me. And Marko uses his interesting lower voice range for a change, refreshing. It's not going to be a favourite though.
My favourite's now. They're definitely Aliens & Indians and Arizona Bossa Nova (too bad it's so short!) I like the slowness of A & I and the Indian theme with the drum and chanting comes together really nicely at the end. The flute is really beautiful there too. Arizona Bossa Nova doesn't sound anything like its name or what I expected, I thought I heard some interesting Asia inspired sounds in there :)
The rest of the soundtack is very nice, but reminds me a great deal of Shattered Horizon. Nicely placed brass instruments give it a grand booming effect which turns sinister at times.

Oooh yah, I'm havin' the hots for Grinder's Blues! Gets better every time I listen to it (a cliche but a true one)............................. The song rocks and swings and flows..... Now I'm thinking they could do a blues album...... :P 8)

Hey, I edited the post about the alternative competition a little:
viewtopic.php?p=316048#p316048

So in the slot for town/city, everyone from outside Finland should try and write their country in there also. I'm not sure how it will work out, but you can at least try.

I kind of like the sound of Grinder's Blues! It's definitely not old Poets, but what would be the fun in that? Plus, I think it's cool that Marko's voice is so versatile. He sounds amazing singing everything from their signature "cinematic rock" to 60s folk-rolk to country!

As for the rest of the Rochard soundtrack, all I can say is wow!! I really love Markus's composing style. It's so celestial and ethereal...I am so loving it. Very epic!! :)

I LOVE Grinder's Blues *____*
The guitar is gorgeous, and Marko's interpretation is just superb!
I love that they take part in all different projects, and so we get some unusual music from them... and it's also impressive how they master anything from regular cinematic rock ( ), to '70's hard-rock, to old good blues :) I wouldn't dislike an album where they expirement all different stuff ^^

The rest of the soundtrack is not really my cup of tea, but has some nice things, like The Fight... and most of all Space Debris! That one is wicked, I like it a lot! :D

Mentions of the soundtrack in game-reviews:

"From an audio standpoint, we get some decent voice acting and a good soundtrack. The latter tosses out a few rock ‘n roll themes with distinct country overtones for cut-scenes, and the gameplay score really fits. It’s actually reminiscent of ‘80s side-scrollers, as it has that futuristic techno beat; only such pieces are more accomplished in this adventure."

http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-reviews/523.html

"Rochard’s music is surprisingly epic - very Star Wars-esque stuff that gets your blood pumping during action, but then quiets down during puzzle sections to allow you to think your way through."

About the game reviews: after I had listened the soundtrack through a couple of times, it came to my mind how much better it probably sounds while you actually play the game. Unfortunately that's something that isn't possible for me right now (very much hoping for a PC version!) so all I can do is imagine it for now (based on the few clips I've seen). I could watch a playthrough in youtube, there is one already, but I don't want to do that since I'm hoping to one day play it, while enjoying the superb music of it...

Someone posted the lyrics of Grinder's Blues on YouTube so here they are (until the official ones are released :) ):

Verse 1: oh my lord i'm wake on bustin knuckle bone day 'n day i'm breaking my back for a way out but it never pays and we're down and dirty with the underdogs hidin with the numbers in the captains logs, and his evil ways he's a man who don't tell i see no way out of hell

Chorus: like she's away from home just my demons and i alone this hammer ; my key this mine ; my wishing well i gotta find my way out of hell

Verse 2: oh my lord i'm tired with the way i'm wired up to grindin' hammer, and the bitch called gravity with my baby back in memphis how do you propose we keep doing this? sucking up to the mastermind 'till i lose my sanity with no more soul to sell i see no way out of hell

Nice find there VesQ. :)

I have not yet tried to write them down myself, but I'm sure the chorus strats with "lightyears away from home..."

Will check the rest later, it is always so much easier once someone has written down what they hear.

^^ Yeah, in certain occasions I'm known as Ves "Nice Find" Q...... That's me name!

Hmm, lightyears away does sound more logical and fitting to the game like the rest of those unofficial lyrics..... I especially like the chorus lyrics {if they are correctly heard by this particular YouTube user}.......... 8)
