I was unintentionally salvated with POTF music by my ex. When we broke up, all I was left with was that music... But in time, ex began to fade away from my heart and Poets started taking over, slowly but steadily.
I'm really picky and weird when it comes to my own music taste, so it took me about a year until I realized that I feel incredibly pleasant while listening to Poets.

For full understanding of their songs one has to have a certain amount of life experience.
For example, I didn't understand "Seek you out" in the fullest (though I was convinced I did), until it happened to me. And yeah, I worried the consequences later

I think the point is to identify yourself with a song in order to understand it. And you need that to make sure that you're not wrong about some aspect of your life, and even if you are, this is the best way to fix your mistakes.

By my humble opinion, Poets have an extremely high level of quality experience in their music, conveyed in a beautiful way, so whenever I'm able, I influence people around me to start listetning this music. And I still think that the best way to tell something important to someone you care about is - through a song. :)

This doesn't exactly qualify as a salvation that I can take any credit for, but when I entered the classroom a couple of weeks ago some of the students in the third year were playing POTF while working on their sculptures. During the work session I heard songs from Signs of Life all the way up until Twilight Theater in a pleasant jumble. It's been a long time since it was that inspiring to sit in the classroom and work :)

Ever since I discovered PotF a few months ago, I can't stop listening to them so I have them playing non stop where I work. I figured my co workers would say something if they got tired of it because seriously, I play them over and over and over again. And they did say something. When one of them came in one day and saw me putting something in the CD player, she said, "hey can you put in that one with that Merry go round song?" I'm all sure!! Then my other co worker chimes in and says "you know, I think my girl would like these guys..."
Do either of those count??

Not really sure if that counts, but back in May I was touring with Martin and James, another favorite band of mine and I remember after one gig I was telling them about "other bands I follow" but they had never heard of POTF. I have a few times since tagged or referenced both bands (POTF and MaJ) in the same tweets.
Two weeks ago I saw Martin and James again, chatted with them after the gig and told Martin that I would have loved to come to their Vienna gig, but could not, because I will be seeing POTF in Helsinki and he goes "Poets of the Fall? Oh yeah, I've heard of them." Me: "Wait! How did that happen?" Martin: "I don't know, I checked them out because someone recommended them." Me: "Oh, that was probably me." I didn't ask him if he liked them or not and he didn't say, but I did mention that I hoped some day they'd play a gig together and he seemed to like that idea.
Maybe not a true "salvation", but certainly a nice fan moment for me.

Another attempt here: Was at my haidresser's today and she asked me about "the name of that band I always talk about". I gave her a sticker and she promised to google them. :)

and... (see my post right above this ^): yesterday the same guy told me he had his gf listen to POTF too.. and that she adores them, and has even bought an album of them! I was so happy about it! :D

saving the world, one person at a time ^^

edit: and just now a guy who was in my school posted a vid of I&D on FB
No idea if he knew them from some post of mine or from somewhere else or if he's a fan of the movie the scenes in the video are from. Whatever: double yay! :D

I'm working hard, the target is my best friend and she's really tough one. I made a small breakthrough, I played her The Beautiful Ones and she loves it, the lyrics and the song. She also said that Sleep is very beautiful song too, but seems like that's it.

Other (Finnish) friend of mine saw TT in my drawer and asked, what the heck is Poets of the Fall. She didn't even recognized Carnival of Rust when I played it  And at the same time people from remote countries know everything about POTF.

Quoting myself to continue the story:
Today I was back there and she told me. "That band is really good. I looked at a lot of their stuff on youTube" She still doesn't know the name, but she likes them. I think this should count. ;)

Well... after reading a few of the other replies in this thread I have to say, I was one of those people who started to hate music, because almost everything sounded the same these days, and there is a lot of overrated music... Then I heard Carnival of Rust on You Tube, and I thought that it was great (and different) and I really like Marko's voice. Now I am a big fan of the Poets.

I have introduced my best friend to the band, and he is addicted to them now as well... then he introduced his mother to the Poets and now she likes them too.

I have showed a few of the songs/music videos to my mother, but... she doesn't really like them to much... but I think that's because she isn't much of a fan of rock music... She likes pop music. My grandmother likes them though... which is sorta rare that she likes to listen to music o.o

and I have tried to get a few of my other friends to listen to them... I guess they like them, but probably not as much as I do.
