The "broken lyrics" as you call them are not new to POTF - just listen to Lift and you'll hear the same thing.

It's not exclusive to POTF either, many artists use it. One example that just popped up in my mind is "Hell is living without you" by Alice Cooper, but there are many others.

Just wondering, how do you know they made the song for the game and not the opposite? Marko said in Voice's interview his was origin of Olli's random inspiration after not seeing for a while. It's funny how fans try to find out weird explanations for different things :)

Either way, I really wonder what Death Rally will be like. I mean, it's called Death Rally, and CYHR is pretty "poppy" and happy. Either the guys thought that a happy sound would fit to Death Rally, or the guys at Remedy thought that it would when choosing the song.

I don't know the original Death Rally, but for whatever reason I think it will be like Micro Machines now. :? :P

Yeah, I know what you mean... but I meant something little different: in LIFT lyrics and melody blend perfectly, so you don't have "broken lyrics" effect's impression, neither at first listening; in CYHM, at first listening, it seemed lyrics and melody weren't made for each other... don't know if you see what I mean... (in fact I said it seemed lyrics were hardly fitted into melody, appearing not much fluent, but that just in 2/3 points...). Anyway, this is not a "problem" anymore, cos now "I can hear them" very well :)

The poets are my favorite band, but I find the song too boring. Hope that future songs'll be better. Besides I've played the original Death Rally and I don't think it suits the game.

I must admit, it didnt make me feel as: "OMG THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING!" as other songs like Illusion and Dream, Lift, Dreaming Wide awake, Carnival of rust, given and denied etc. did. But, hell, I certainly like it. I've listened to it on repeat, over and over, non-stop from the very beggining i got it!
....Then again, I did that for months when I got Illusion & Dream and even longer with Dreaming Wide Awake...

Love it. Maybe not as much as other Potf work, but i still love it. Good job poets! looking forward to the next album! :D

I really can't say that I dislike it. It keeps me from saying anything negative anyway because it's a Poets song and I usually like all of their songs because everything they do with music is magic... But I can understand it when some of you say they don't like it... You certainly have to get used to it, but which doesn't make it a bad song. I, myself, like it a lot and have been listening to it more than often already, as usual. (: Even though the melody of the "Can you hear me" parts in the chorus don't seem to fit for my ears. Oh no wai, now I DID say something negative about it. Eww, whatever...

"You can have what you want if you want it like you need to breathe ... embrace reality" <- those sentences are giving me shivers of joy

The Discography tells us that CYHM is a "Digi release". Can we expect that POTF are not going to release any more physical singles in the future, or is it only for this single (and War and other songs) that they are not releasing any physical singles?

guess it means the short version is real exclusive and long version will be on Alchemy?

I didn't like the song on the first hearing, but then I bought it (naturally) and now I love it!
Another great song from our beloved Poets.

I'm looking forward to the DVD.

What bothers me the most in this song is it's most random rhythm... which I'm sure has its own deliberate wisdom but it's not coming through right for me. That's what stops me from completely falling in love with most of phoenix effect songs too. Eh...

p.s. the part where marko screms "Embrace realityyyy..."- it so old dont you think? :?
the "i scream filled with emotions and my voice fades away in such a melancholic way..." . i mean i know i'm not buying myself fans here but they need to bring something new to the table. and it bothers me this much cause i know they are much better then this...
but hey, i'm still a fan!

In my opinion it isn't so old. Yeah, that's a way to show emotions and for me it's good. Every song needs something different and on CYHM, that fits perfectly

I don't agree with you Melody. What I DO agree, is this:

CYHM is currently the only song I listen from my mp3. I simply love it! I love the rhythm, the lyrics, rhymes and pronunciation. I don't hear it as pop at all, just potf =) The intro reminds me of 30 Second to Mars' song From Yesterday.

Can You Hear Me is so beautiful song! I fell in love right away, when I heard it on last week and my mom liked it too. Once again, PotF has made one more masterpiece :D

I completely agree... Each new song is a surprise, never the same as the previous one... that is called genius... 8)

First time heard - meh...
Second time heard - pretty nice...
Third time heard - OMG AWSUM.
This song is really cool... but how, the hell, does it fit into Death Rally? I mean, isn't this game all about crashes, destruction, stuff? And isn't this song all about love and different feelings? It doesn't seem to fit...

I already posted I really like this song and it might be a "pop" sounding song (if it makes some feel better to label songs like that, I don't) to some; but when I listen to it this song makes me want to spin around and dance! It makes me feel good and I love the lyrics, they are just as special as any other POTF song lyrics, unique. If anyone can point out another POTF song in which the lyrics are the same let me know.

Today it's one of my favorites for whatever reason.....each day I have fave songs and they might change during the day or tommorrow or next week or 2 1/2 hours from now or 47 mins from now........that's why I love this band. I am never bored by their music and Can You Hear Me is just another awesome song to add to my collection of the best modern songs ever  .

That's why with each new song, I love them a little bit more (if it's still possible  )

Finally I've heard the new song and I love it.
For me the single version sounds better, perhaps it's because the radio edit starts so suddenly without the intro of the single version.
I had to listen to most songs of PotF a few times before I really fell in love and as "Snow" so perfectly wrote:

Now I start to reply to my own postings. I hope I won't hear voices soon

Okay, I just want to say, that I burned with Nero the FLAC versions and it's amazing. I can hear you now loud and clearly 8) and the song starts to be my favorite one ... for the moment until something new comes up :)

First of all, I love this song. Ok, i'm probably crazy saying this and Wikipedia is the worst source ever but... In the videography section, it says 2011 Can You Hear Me TBA. Im obviously not getting my hopes up but it's good to know :)

:D Wikipedia is the worst source for factual information........doesn't mean they are 100% wrong........they are still only about 99.7% wrong.

I still <3 this song and it is repeating in my head and my car and here even

A magic moment in CYHM is when the 3 guitars are playing together so harmoniously  I just can't describe the emotion...

I can't imagine they will have two singles in such a short time so my bet is on CYHM. I also believe that will be the first song on the setlist, but we'll see about that (in 17 days  )
