Hiding deep within, doors cry opening
Lead into the light of love deep like the sea
Rich in variety, heartfelt and open, wide like a life, unique, yet so alike

Can you hear me, I know I'm just a whisper
Can you hear me, brother mine, sweet sister
Love will find an answer

You flow inside of me, language and imagery, pure in simplicity
Thirsting for unity, realised harmony,
No need to hide away your life, unique, yet so alike

Can you hear me...

There's yet life in these words I speak for peace of mind and our release,
And you can have what you want if you want it like you need to breathe,
like you need to breathe, like you need to breathe
Embrace reality

Can you hear me, I know I'm just a whisper
Can you hear me, brother mine, sweet sister
Love will find an answer

Even though the song is already for sale here in high quality, i'm waiting for CD release. Must pay for something i can hold in my hands. Shall not even read the song text until then.

when i first heard the song it didn't hit up to my expectations at all, to be honest nothing grabbed my soul like all their other songs do..
but i'm not gonna shrug it off coz i felt the same when i heard their old stuff for the first time, i then fell in love.
I'll give it some time :p
(I'm probably gonna get burnt out by everyone for saying this lol but i'm not gonna lie and go WOOOOWOWOWOWOOW when i didn't really feel like that haha)

I've listened to the new song for a lot.

Nothing, i don't like it. It's too pop. Above on "2.10" part (more or less).....no no, i don't like, too "noise".

I listened to it on YT and even considering its low quality i liked the song,it's really catchy in its unique style 8)

The only weird thing about the song is its emotional lyric which i wasn't expecting from a song for the "Death Rally" game :? Once again, another surprise from Poets of the Fall!

It's a very strange song indeed, it's a time bomb :) At first it didn't moved me at all but it keeps getting better and better every time i listen to it. I had the same feeling when i heard 'Change'. Didn't like it but now one of my favourites.

Keep up the good work Poets, we love you! Rock on :!:

When I first listened to this song, I immediately fell in love with it. Lyrics and music are heavenly beautiful. It is pure LOVE... and CYHM is about LOVE, its power, its complexity. Love gives sense to our lives, it gives us hope and pain, joy and despair. This song is one of the most touching one I ever heard. It is magic... once again!

Disappointed. There's nothing catchy in this song.

It's interesting how this song grew on me. I first heard it on webradio. My notebook's speaker's are not the best so the quality wasn't great. I immediately loved the lyrics, but didn't care for the music at all, thought it sounded too "pop", too much like other stuff on the radio, not so much uniquely POTF.

Yesterday, I bought the single version in the digistore and hearing it in good quality made a world of difference. Suddenly I could hear nuances in the recording that completely got lost in the first version I heard. So there it was again, signature POTF: totally different from everything previous, yet very recognizable. And while I won't name this as one of my favorites it's a really good song. The lyrics are really amazing too.

So to all those who have only heard it on youTube, even the "high quality" version, I can only say: Unless you have your comp connected to great speakers, you haven't really heard it. I can't force you to buy it of course, but in my humble opinion it's 1€ well spent. :)

CYHM strangely does get better every listen IMO. As the song goes, it's unique, yet so alike...
I'm like repeating your thoughts because mine are the same type. First it didn't move me much and sounded a bit corny, but as always, I'm so slow and now the song is stuck in my head... The same thing happened to me a year ago with DWA........ 8)

And the sound reminds me of DWA.... It's almost a ballad but still a faster song = a fast ballad
Ach, it just shines through my memory like jewelry in the sun, the long chorus vocals, the guitar and keyboard harmony or whatever, just so weird, can't stop.... Its sound feels like half from older POTF and half something whole new............ :!:

I can compare this song to a viscous rubber. It’s not easy to listen to the CYHM because of unusual pronounce of familiar words and difficult verbal constructions. But at the same time this song is difficult to break away!

I think it's probably unlike anything I've ever heard, that's why everyone feels so weird about it, because it is, in fact, a very weird song, and I like weird songs! Needless to say, but this is a wonderful new piece of music, no wonder they chose this for a compilation, because it really is a stand-alone track, it feels like something that really takes elements from every album they have thus far. Another well done creation..

What's this? I come back from a week of absence and... Can you hear me! It took me two minutes to get it. Actually this was my first Digistore usage. It's neat (except the 5 downloads part)

For some reason I don't think that this is one of their top works. It's nice to listen, but not that great.
Have you noticed there's a hidden heart in the cover? (not that hidden, but anyway)

Finally downloaded the Radio version. As of this post I'm still waiting for the full single. :P

It's unique, and in a good way. My speakers suck, so I might have to hear it with headphones or wait until I get the actual cd in my hands to give it a fair chance. I will say it showcases the sheer power of Marko's voice, which is a joy to hear. I've always been eager to hear more range from him, including lower tones. It's a different rhythm, different genre, meaning more pop than rock, and the feelings I get are wistful, celebratory and heartfelt. Who else can throw all that into a song?? :P Very few, especially these days, imho.

And how could I forget to mention again how much I love Marko's singing on this one?

TA said it well so I can only agree to that.

Sounds like Mark's finally fell in usual-kind love. Lyrics herald something... (Joking) very different lyrics. especially in speaking of love...

Lyrics are great. but generally, my opinion is the same as TheShield.

I hadn't noticed it before.... :|

In addition to Marko's superb vocal work the guitars are just beautiful and melodic, especially the ones after these lyrics: Lead into the light and pure in simplicity

Maybe we'll have even more sophistication of this style on Alchemy vol. 2 or (who knows) already on vol. 1......? Nevertheless, I've grown to like CYHM.... 8)

Song is really great! Good job Poets, keep it going.

As English is not my native language I have some troubles in understanding some parts of lyrics. Especially with Marko's very unique writing lyrics style. Well, I could use some help here. Due to my habit of writing down every single song on the piece of paper and translating it into my own language I just have to do this or it won't give me sleep.

I've stucked with the first line, exactly that part:
"...doors cry opening"

What does it mean? Doors are opening, but what with that "cry". I don't get it.
Then we got second line which is pretty understable to me. So we're leaving it.
Third one however is a bit troubling, thoug I understand it well I have no idea what is it refering to. Is it love mentioned in the second line?

Ok, we're passing chorus and getting to second part. With translation I have no problem but again, what is it refering to? Who is that "you" person? Who flow inside him? Who doesn't have to hide away his life?

Passing chorus. Again I have no trouble in translating. Just one question. Why there's YET life in these words? What is that suposse to mean?

I owe a huge hug to someone that will help me with it :)

PS: I know my language skills aren't very good so correct me one every mistake I've made.

nieckamil,

"Doors cry opening" refers to the loud sound door make when opening. Imagine a really old wooden door squeaking as you open it. "Cry(ing)" can be taken literary, I guess, so it's up to you to decide what it means.

The third line seems to refer to sea (which is before that refered to by "love"). In short, love = sea = life.

In the second part, I think it's a general "you"? It could be anyone. Feel free to insert yourself or someone you care about, idk.

I'll leave the "yet" explanation to someone else, I understand it but I'm not sure how to explain :/

Hello, nieckamil
I made the translation of the lyrics into Polish, So if you would like I can show it you
Anyway, I think about those lines:
- “Doors cry opening” – they are opening, but they are crying at the same time, because nobody important for this person (I call it: “the main person”) comes inside (of the house)
- “Rich in variety, heartfelt and open, wide like a life, unique, yet so alike” – I think that this another person who is important for the main person has a different soul and habitat, is heartfelt and open for life, unique, but so alike like the main person
- “You flow inside of me” – The main person fell in love and just feel that her/his heart is full of love to this another person
- “Yet” – I would translate it like a “jednak” I mean this person is “jednak taka podobna” to the main character, despite of all contrasts.

Marko’s lyrics are famous of that everybody can translate it in their own style, so this is just my opinion.
If you want understand something I can answer you on PM, so feel free to asking, I will be glad if I could help

haha I love that line "realized harmony", especially because I'm a huge music theory nerd and harmony realizations is the first thing that comes to my mind. ^^
