We have a thread for movies we has already seen, but what about those we look forward to or just might go see because our child(ren), husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, sig other, fiancee, step kids.........ok I know you get the idea.

So to start this all important and need to know topic here is what I want to see:

This weekend:

The Expendables....yes I know what I am getting here so that is what I am looking forward to (ok doesn't hurt to have Jason Statham in it doing all his own stunts, as always).

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Ok, Michael Cera would have to be the very very last man on Earth for me to even hug, but this movie is going to have some great stylized action (see that's funny there cause it's action so I don't really care what kind it is although I am hoping it means bullet time action cause that's wicked awesome!) and clever little exchanges like this:

Wallace Wells: If you want something bad, you have to fight for it. Step up your game, Scott. Break out the L-word.
Scott Pilgrim: Lesbian?
Wallace Wells: The other L-word.
Scott Pilgrim: ...Lesbians?

Stupid but funny and

Stacey Pilgrim: Next time, we don't date the girl with eleven evil ex-boyfriends.
Scott Pilgrim: Seven.
Stacey Pilgrim: Well, that's not that bad.

Ok sorry enough!

Anyways that looks like me for the weekend! They look like fun and my head hurts from Inception (and yes, believe it or not I am considering going to see it again)!

So what do you all want to see? Or not?

Nothing really in the cinemas I'd like to see at the moment...Inception maybe, if it was cheap (which it isn't), though I have a feeling I wouldn't find it as superb as everyone else seems to think it is.

I'd like to see The Last Airbender and Despicable Me, but neither is out here yet. Also want to see the Extraordinary Adventures of Adéle Blanc-Sec.

At home probably going to see Star Wars: Episode I on Sunday, tomorrow I could watch WALL-E or Kiki's Delivery Service. Feeling slightly down so those could be nice.

Nothing in the cinemas for me too but I'd like to see The Crow I & II, Requiem For A Dream and Control

Have never fully seen The Crow, missed Requiem For A Dream when it was on tv, also Control which was first aired on tv last Wednesday but I missed it too :(

Will have to rent The Crow-movies and wait for Requiem For A Dream and Control until they're on tv again (no video rental store has it here and I don't want to buy for watching once).

@Darkness_of_Heart

Well as far as Inception goes it really depends on what you are looking for in a movie. I know people who love it and those who think it's ok and some I know don't even want to see it. So it's not for everyone of course.

I tend to like mind benders simply because I like a challenge now and again, but I like simple entertainment as well (of course I repeat that after stating above which movies I will see this weekend :D ).

I love WALL-E! One of my favorite cartoon movies!

@Sire

The first Crow is awesome! I love that movie and can play the whole thing over in my head. I never bothered with the others since Brandon Lee is no longer the crow. I hate what happened to him.

Which Control do you want to see? There are two out apparently.

Ah you reminded me of Requiem for a Dream! I don't think it even came out here so I am ordering it now form Netflix! Thanks for mentioning that one!

@Snow:
Well I have nothing against challenge, I'd actually like it. I've just heard some opinions that Inception isn't that much of a challenge, that it tries to make sure you understand it. Which is fine as well, just gives it another meaning. But I'll make my own opinion once I see it, just need to set my expectations on the proper hight.

On topic: Might go with EarthSea for today after all.

Today of course is Expendables day and I am psyched over this one since I saw a fight scene on Jay Leno last night between Stallone and Steve Austin (I think he was a wrestler?) and Steve said they really through some punches :D

Anyways, next few movies I am looking forward to are:

Resident Evil: Afterlife. I love this series of zombie movies! I also like the idea of a strong female lead who can do her own stunts (puts Jolie to shame) and I think the 3D is actually worth it for this one. Ok I am a member of the unofficial Milla Jovovich fan club too  .

Fading of the Cries: This one I haven't heard of before now but it looks really good! I have not been watching any horror movies lately (the first time I have taken a break in years! Ok that doesn't include the SAW movies........they are different) and this one looks pretty awesome.

Takers: Well this one looks like the regular action bad guys vs the cops but maybe some trick in this one so I will see it.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark: Another horror film on my list. This one is a Guillermon del Toro and this guy can really make some odd movies so I am in!

Now this one wasn't my idea but hey, I like some spoofs and my son wants to see this for all the reasons many people will want to see this so hey, let's go:

Vampires Suck: Now surely you know just from the title what movie saga this movie is going to spoof. It might be fun, although some of the stuff I have seen from the trailer look pretty lame, but some of it looks funny. I will say this though.........why is it being promoted for "guys who don't want to sit through another vampire movie"? Surely there are plenty of women who are tired of it and hate it as well; and what about a spoof of Harry Potter movies? I mean I have been sitting through those for years! Sometimes more than I cared to. Maybe this one will bite  :D

Buried: Yes I am a Ryan Reynolds fan so I will see this one. I am not sure how it will play out after seeing the second trailer but I am willing to take my chances here!

SAW 3D: Of course! I mean I am a SAW addict and I will watch them as long as they make them. After seeing the traps in SAW II (SAW didn't have "traps"), I have loved the way they think up new ones! I wish I had been on that crew! In 3D? I dunno.........I can see Resident Evil being filmed in 3D but not so sure they should have done this; but as usual no one asked me! I do think it should have been named SAW VII and say it's filmed in 3D but they didn't ask me again :? .

There is one particular movie reboot coming out this fall that I am debating on. It's not because of the gore (hey gore in movies is fake), it's the subject matter.

Ok well that's enough for me.

I know when I started this thread I had to give it a name and I kept it simple, but I don't care if anyone goes off-topic. I like discussions about movies, especially when I hear of one I might want to see. So post as you like.

Well for me, this is an obvious one: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Only a few months left!!! Ugh I'm bursting with anticipation, but at the same time, I really don't want it to come that fast! After Part II, Harry Potter will be OVER! It's really sad because I grew up with the HP books and they have been a huge part of my life. As much as I'm excited to see the last movie, I don't want to see Harry go.

Vampires Suck is second on my to-see list...haha...looks like a cute comedy and I love the double meaning of the title. :D

I saw a preview for "Due Date" when I went to see Inception a few weeks ago, and it looks hilarious! Plus it has Zach Galifianakis from the Hangover, whom I LOVE! He's going to be great in this movie, I can tell.

There are others, I just can't think of them right now... :)

@emeraldincantations

It'll be ok! Hey Dan has to move on you know! He's too old to be playing a high school kid now  .

I just hope this HP is better than the last one! Damn that was weak! No Luna! What? The best character in the series and yet she is left out, mostly.

Ralph Fiennes will save the next two when playing Voldemort.....well if they aren't good....I don't know. I don't even know what is supposed to happen but a showdown between Harry and Voldie! That scene looks awesome in the trailer!

:? Vampires Suck title has a double meaning? Shut up! Yeah I'm going to that one. A couple of the jokes look lame but if the Jersey Shore people are there I'm there! They bring class to everything........uh wait.....this movie has the Jersey Shore people, Snooky and all, in it? Hmmmmmmm..................I might rethink that one! (Snooky? How much did they have to pay her??)

Due Date does look fun! I LOVE RDJr! But then who doesn't?
(I dislike Zach Galifianakis but many people like him. I thought it was really great in The Hangover when he clunked the baby's head on the car door........oh wait why was that funny? I'm not sure but there were many people laughing at that...ok I really disliked The Hangover and can't stand any of the guys in it and that includes Brad Cooper who gets more and more ridiculous the more I see him.)

Ok for all Guillermo del Toro fans:

Dont' Be Afraid Of The Dark R rated trailer was shown during Expendables today and it looks AWESOME! Of course I love del Toro so I was thinking it was great before I even saw a trailer for it!

Another cool one coming up:

Machete!!!!!!!!!! Yes! I have been waiting for this one since I saw the fake trailer during Grindhouse! So wicked that Rodriguez is bringing this one to the big screen!!! Can't wait! This one is going to go so far over the top it's going to be sick! 8)

@Sire

Oh ok yeah there are two on Netflix so that is why I asked. I have never heard of Joy Division, I do like punk, but I am afraid I am not familiar with everything about it. I did read about the group though and will check out some YouTubes too! Not to interested in that type of movie.......I think the only reason I know of Sid Vicious is because the Sex Pistols music was still around the US for a long time. I did like them though. Never saw Sid and Nancy either. I know a bit more about Johnny Rotten really.
I am actually interested in the other with Ray Liotta in it! And Willem Dafoe too! Ray is great as a sociopath! So I ordered that one.

lol, when I saw Machete trailer I thought it was a shame that it was a fake one and there was no movie... now I'm curious for the movie too.

Movies I want to see:

Final Destination 3D, but I think by now I missed it in the theater (I'll see it somewhere in 2D). I'm not much into this kind of movies usually, but final destination is one I've always liked :)

Inception, but I have to wait till Sep 24th for it to be released here. Luckily there is a friend of mine who wants to see it too: she is fanatic of some almost-unknown band called Forever the day, and since the singer wrote of twitter he liked the movie, she wants to see it :D

lol, a little like wanting to see it because a not so well know Finnish band we all adore tweeted about that - well at least that's how I heard about it ;)

On topic:

Rautaa rajan taa
A documentary about Finnish metal. I hope it will be shown at the Nordic Movie Festival in Lübeck in November, since Finnish documentaries are usually not released with English subtitles on DVD.

The American
Dierected by Anton Corbijn and starring Samuli Vauramo. Enough said!

When you're strange
I love all sorts of music movies so this is a must.

Stone
Trailer looks interesting.

Nowhere Boy
Did I mention music movies?

Allt flyter
Description sounds very good and funny.

The weird thing is that they run with English subtitles at festivals, but then the subtitles are not on the DVD. At least that was the case for "Katastrofin aineksia" and Punk - Tauti joka ei tapa". I saw both in Lübeck two years ago and both had English subs, but the DVDs are not subtitled. Don't know why, maybe it's too expensive.

maybe... though since they've already made the subtitles, the most of the thing is done. Maybe they don't consider converting it for the dvd too cause that's only for the national market. Or maybe it's those who organize the festivals who put subtitles there because they need it for international audience.
actually I have no idea how these things work ^^

Ah yes @redbossfan!

Stone looks awesome! I don't think you can go wrong with DeNiro, Norton and Milla, but I am partial to each one so........ But the trailer does look like it will be a good one for sure!

The American! I am glad you mentioned that one Stef since I just saw the trailer online yesterday and hadn't seen it yet. I am partial to George Clooney (as an actor only  ) and every movie I have seen him in I haven't been disappointed. Michael Clayton was a great one!

@Lisa

:D Yes, sometimes when you hear someone you admire say "oh I loved that movie!: then it does put it in a different light. I had been waiting to see Inception for many months. It had been promoted here for a while and I knew Nolan would do something wild, so that was all I needed to know. Inception is one of those movies that is a different experience for everyone; my friend made up her mind at the end what happened in the end. She really liked it, she just didn't want to take the thought any farther. Well for me it was like a riddle or a puzzle so of course I took it to the next level of seeing it 3 times to get the absolute end and even after finding so many hints and clues I am still not sure and one of the questions I have that would at least put it into a better perspective, is never answered, although it is a key element in the movie.

I love all the Final Destination movies and own them all. And yes, if you, like me, just like the whole basic recipe of the movie, then you will love each one after it. The 3D one was super awesome! Wow! Now that is some 3D!

Machete looks awesome and like you I loved the fake trailer during Grindhouse! I was like "oh wait they should totally make a movie like this!" and apparently I wasn't the only one  Rodriguez said that after he made the trailer he really thought he should go ahead and make the movie since he himself loved the idea. It's gonna be what you see is what you get and many times that is what I want to see1

Found a new one!

My Soul To Take.......this one looks like a bit more than a slasher (which would be great in itself) and the soundtrack is great! I recognize a couple of these actors but really it might have been from tv :D . Ah one of those I just want to see some horror fluff. Nice.

Now this one looks really strange! Therefore I must go see it!!

Black Swan with Natalie Portman. Really dark!

One more!

Monsters.........looks like Cloverfield on steroids! Awesome!

The Legend of the Guardians. Don't care about the plot (though I'll probably like it anyway), but when was the last time you saw a movie that looked liked this one? The feathers, the rain, the fire, the ash...I get all giddy just thinking about it :D

Red
Fighter
Priest
SAW 3D
Buried
Leaves of Grass
True Grit
Due Date
My Soul To Take
Don't Be Afraid of The Dark

And maybe this week
Chain Letter - possible low budget horror sleeper a la The Collector (excellent on dvd now)

Actually, I want to see Resident Evil: Afterlife on 3D.

Another movie that I would like to see is The Secret in Their Eyes, a film from my country which had won many awards and good international reviews, but, honestly, I never saw it. :|

LOL, of all the ones I mentioned above I've only seen one so far...

Current list (in addition to those):

Gainsbourg
Trailer looks awesome and guess what - musician's biography. See a pattern there?

El secreto de sus ojos
Saw the trailer yetserday. Wow, this looks good. I hope it will be.

Harry Potter and the deathly halllows
... but I nmight just wait until next year and see them both in a row. I hate waiting for a year to see the end of a movie.

I'm undecided regarding Somewhere. I loved Lost in Translation, but heard so many bad things about this new one that I am not sure. Maybe.

Less than that I am eagerly waiting for the programme of the Nordic Movie Days in Lübeck to be released next week. I'm already counting down to 5 days of great movies.

Well I want to see Harry Potter too! It's like I have invested several yrs in the series!

Stone isn't playing in SF or Nashville so I guess I'll wait till it comes out on dvd.

RED is out this weekend and I hoping to see it tomorrow with my friend. It depends.

And then of course the rest of my list.

I didn't have Easy A on my list, but I did see it the other day since my friend wanted to and it was so funny!! I laughed about it even after I saw it! :D

There isn't too many films that I really am expecting these days, so even though it will take a few more years:

The sequel of Porco Rosso

That should be interesting, to see how Miyazaki sees that universe after 20 years.

I want to see 9! Even though it's said not to be the greatest movie, I guess it's worth a shot, and at least Tim Burton has his hands somewhere on it, so why not. :)
