(From Save Me) :D

Kudos to anyone who can tell me what that means...

The goose=music business
What's in it=going further
I think about the same kind of thing on Clevermind's chorus. Now I feel like a freaking tabloid reporter but anyway it might be about a lost record deal or something and the teller sings it to himself using sarcasm. I went off-topic here, sorry!

@VesQ: I don't think all their lyrics have something to do with the music industry :D
(though they can also be interpreted like that sometimes, in the end it's them who always say everyone can interpret songs in their own way...)

@em: I think the line about the goose is about when you lose what you had for having wanted more, or for not taking care of what you had :)

Yeah I always seem to do that here...  I can't help it. It just appears to me that RR and TT are more personal lyrically than the 2 previous albums.

:D It's fun finding these phrases! It's different when one speaks English since there are some I don't put down because I understand them already, but the ones I do find are really fun ones that either I don't get or I have to see the phrases together and then I feel I can interpret them. Hope that makes sense! :?

Save Me is one fantastic song too and some of you guys were talking about this so I will take a stab at it:

Did I really cut open the goose
Just to lose what's in it

Did you ever read Aespop's Fables? There is one called "The Goose That Laid The Golden Egg"? A Fable, if anyone hasn't read them, were written for children in order to point out a moral or "be careful what you ask for". It's short in this paragraph below and maybe this is what Marko was meaning:

A man and his wife owned a very special goose. Every day the goose would lay a golden egg, which made the couple very rich.

"Just think," said the man's wife, "If we could have all the golden eggs that are inside the goose, we could be richer much faster."

"You're right," said her husband, "We wouldn't have to wait for the goose to lay her egg every day."

So, the couple killed the goose and cut her open, only to find that she was just like every other goose. She had no golden eggs inside of her at all, and they had no more golden eggs.

Moral: Too much greed results in nothing (I didn't assign that moral to it, whomever wrote the down the story online did, but yeah, it's like that) and there are different cultures that talk about it in different ways.........that was the one taught to me.

Sometimes I think most morality stories are really "be careful for what you ask for, it might not turn out to be what you wanted or needed". That's the way I see them anyways.

Let's see here:

1. of ego cultivation

2. I'm rolling my eyes like the stones for the lies

3. Ashtrays filled with the fruits of our transgressions

4. Bloodhound and of no better pedigree than what you see so you could not offend

The Ultimate Fling is one of those songs that goes back and forth between a heavy rock and, sort of a narrative, rap without the rap beat maybe (ok no one kill me for that comparison please and I happen to like some rap) which is so interesting!! Of course awesome song and I like to watch the vidoes of that one!
(Gimme a reason, c'mon now make my day!)

@Lisa

Sorry Lisa! I didn't see what you wrote about the goose and you summed it up sorry about that!

^ but it was nice to be reminded of the fable, I hadn't thought about the golden eggs (in the Italian translation it was a chicken that laid them ^^)

I know right? I hadn't thought of that fable in forever and I have read that in some other languages it's a hen or chicken and I suppose it doesn't matter since they are both fowls :D ! I love the word "fowl"! It shall be my fave word for the day!

I always thought fables were like fairy tales but I liked fairy tales better. I mean the older fairy tales, not the Disney ones (although I love the princess stories!).

Ok here:

1. In all this turmoil, before red cape and foil come closing in for a kill

2. Packed her teddybear, so as not to go alone (I like this one cause I take a teddybear with me when I travel  Well he's like company in my little mind)

3. For how could an amputee ever pick a bone

It's a bit like a trip, but you hit it with a slip of a tongue, like a whip, and we're sinking

we're living out of shells in a shotgun

Heheh, Fire is a weird but awesome song! :P

@VesQ

Oh yours are super!! I like those!

Yes Fire has some wonderful ones and I love that song too (ok I have yet to come across a POTF song I don't like :D )

@over_maybe

Oh that's good!

Here are my offerings:

With no-one wearing their real face
It's a whiteout of emotion

I tried a shanty with the fool to find my pace
Anything from puns to jests to intertwine our ways

She's habitually paradoxical, a parallel perpendicular

(I love Miss Impossible! :D )

funny, I don't find any of the Poet's lines weird, just very very poetic.
That's probably why this thread put such a big smile on my face. It's always interesting to see how others view the lyrics.

Hey guys, does anybody know what are they saying in Passion Colors Everything
between these lines

And when I'm finally brought to my senses
( )
Parade the rain on my parade
( )
Before I'm back to my defenses
( )
To watch the whole thing escalate
