ummm...I think I was the first person to save with their music. :D
MP2 saved Mona and Poets saved me along with Skillet's "Rebirthing".
Well....I lost my mental sanity (not that important after all) but kept my spirit alive.

And after that I went on a beserk saving rampage on all the forums I "lived" at that time.
The majority liked POTF, other not quite.Even my brother (who is into other kind of music - bad one) likes them (SoL and CoR especially).

As Rise Against say "save me while there's still something left to save"

Yesterday I was in the car with a friend of mine, and "Change" was playing.

Suddenly my friend said "POTF singer has such a beautiful voice..."

first thought: did she just recognize whose the song was? :o
second thought: yay! 8)

Hm...people I know were never in a need of salvation of any kind...but if they were and if I tried 'rescuing' them by introducing Poets' healing tunes to them, they'd probably send me to hell and request money instead :)
And how many people I converted into Poets' religion? Let me see..............none. My dad likes their music a lot. My fiance likes their music a lot. My friend likes War, Dying to Live and Given and Denied (don't know which way the conversion is gonna go yet). So if I'm a fanatic in this religion, they are just simple, normal, unobsessed believers.
Oh and by the way!! Oh how pissed off I was...... Once I gave my mp3 player to an acquaintance of mine to take a listen to a few of Poets' songs...and he was right there beside me, listening to it, having a look wow-I-love-this-shit on his face, obviously enjoying the music, foot-tappin' and all... I was so happy about it!! And then after a pretty while he came to me and said: 'Oh they are good!! They remind me of Nickelback!!'

Strangely, I've heard that exact comment too :| Obviously they're very similar, because Nickelback is so very unique and, uh, very... :| Yeah I can't even pretend that I agree, and I actually like Nickelback.

Anyway, on topic. My mom belongs to the latest one in the row that I salvated. Gave her a CD with some TT songs on it and she's been listening to it ever since in the car. I had to give her also some CoR songs to please her hunger for More  Once I can afford it, I'll make sure she gets copies of the real CD's.

I also salvated my best friend, now our creative sessions always go to the tunes of TT set on repeat and the song "War" inspired her so much that she began to make a huge painting of a battlefield. Me likes, and is prouds :)

I don't think POTF and NIckelback are similar.. but I love Nickelback too, so there might be some similarity somewhere :|

Yeah, Nickelback is alright I suppose...must give them a second chance now cause of you guys :)
I just can't believe that people ain't able to recognize when something is totally different and unique!! There are some bands which simply always remain alone in music 'genre' they created and no band could ever copy it successfully. And Poets are one of those bands.

How come when you tell people you've got a favorite band their next question always is "Oh, what genre is it?"

I have troubles defining POTF's genre, as it should be :D

^ exactly the same

sometimes I've come up with answers like "well, they are.. er.. kind of "melodic rock", I guess. Like.. like... gosh, they're not like anyone else" :|

But next time I know what to say: "They're cinematic rock 8)
What? you people don't know what cinematic rock is??? c'mon, where do yu live? You need to listen to them!"

The cinematic rock answer is a good one
And I have the same trouble. I always say you cannot put them in a box.

Some of you know this story already, but here it goes:

I took the ferry to get to Helsinki for the Virgin Oil gig and back. Upon arrival in Travemünde I met a nice French guy who needed help getting to the train station, so I took him to the right bus to get there and then helped him with tickets. We first went to Lübeck together, then ran into each other again in Hamburg and ended up on the same train from there.

We were chatting about what we did in Helsinki and I told him about the concert I had been too. Being a music teacher he was naturally curious about it and asked several questions. He also told some nice stories of his own.

I had picked up two copies of SoL on sale while in Helsinki and quite spontaneously decided to give him one. When he realized that I was actually giving it to him as a present, he asked me to sign it. Thus I wrote: Sometimes great music comes to you in mysterious ways. Enjoy!

He promised to listen to it and play it for his friends. I never asked his name or email address so I’ll probably never find out if he actually did or what he thought, but should we all of a sudden have an invasion of French people on this forum, it might just be my fault. ;)

He also likes "Forgiveness" from Marko's Solo Album

Just for the record: It's not a solo album, Marko recorded it with his former band Playground.

I think salvating Sweden is going pretty well. Today in the local CD shop I found this:

Image

POTF has their own category nowadays! :) May not seem very big, but it is. A few years ago the guys in the shop were "Poets what?"

Let's hope the guys won't run out of inspiration or interest in their band.

Long distances can be walked slowly, but knowing that you're already walking helps quite a lot.

That should be an easily-bearable downside, then. :D

I recommended listening to War to a friend of mine who's very into music.. and now she's obsessed with it :D
She's constantly saying how beautiful the song is (like I don't know, my dear.... )

I don't think she'll ever turn into a 'fan' of the band, but she likes them ^^

My mum is in love with the Twilight Theater album and just went to the cd shop to place an order. The guy in the CD shop said, quote "I don't understand what's going on with these guys, we keep running out, I already have five copies ordered for next week". If that's not a sign of salvation then what is :)

I've gotten my fiance, who is so terribly picky with music, to like them by insisting that we get the Collector's Edition of Alan Wake so I could nab the soundtrack. Sadly I had to find "Children of the Elder God" elsewhere but my insistence and him playing the game got him turned on to the band where I'd play it before and he'd just make his "This sucks" faces.

I also make it a habit to tell people who ask me for recommendations (I work at a CD/DVD store) about PotF. We may not be able to get their CDs in stock here in the US but there is always Amazon or iTunes.

I've salvated my Mom and my 3 friends.
Everything thanks to my lovely sister, who showed me Poets 4 years ago :)

I guess this thread is the best one to put on a story I read on YouTube.

There was this guy from the States commenting under the DWA video. He/she had requested a local rock'n'roll station to play TUF. After it a big number of people had called the station just to ask what the amazing song was. There we see how big of an impression Poets' music can have on people unaware of them, and just one song! 8) The person also encouraged some other commenters to act the same way. It's very nice to hear such stuff...... :)

I was very surprised when I was at my local physics bar today (well, technically it was yesterday) when I around 2 pm suddenly recognised a song they played. Just in the beginning I was like "what is this song? I know it..." then I sang along a little "yeah, 'cos it sings the blues..." and I went like "O! M! G! IT'S FIRE! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
Then the next song played was Sorry go 'Round and after that Carnival of Rust and I realised we were listening to the entire CoR album! I was so astounded that I had to go to the bar and ask who had that excellent taste in music :P
That also led me to find out one of the guys from my year knows Poets as well because one of his friends is a big fan as well!
So there ARE other Danes that know of POTF.

Aaaaand, I know it has nothing to do with salvations, but I had no idea where to put it instead :P

That's awesome! :o Everytime when I'm at some party I hope to hear potf play (never happens :? )

I'm very happy because yesterday I got a radio to play POTF!!! :D
it's a show where every week they pick a European country, and yesterday it was about Finland... so I requested POTF... and it worked: they briefly told something about the band and played Lift :D
I could not believe it! It was the first time I heard of potf on a radio (and hearing the speaker say my name too made it even more unreal, lol  )
It's not a big station, but it's always better than nothing: someone of the listeners might have been.. 'salvated'
