Alerion, I'm playing in nightmare mode and it's still wow. Going to defend the scene tonight. The most difficult moment in the whole game for me

Any comments on The Signal?
I loved it, the atmosphere and music were really creepy! Surreal and nightmarish. A bit more fighting and in some bits quite challenging. Can't wait for The Writer!

Yeah, loved it as well. Finished it yesterday, it was short but fun. Loved all the "new" light effects, like the "BOOM!"-letter-signs. Couldn't get enough of these. I already feel sad for the time after "The Writer", I doubt there will be any more content for Alan Wake. :(

There's this upcoming movie called 'Vanishing on 7th Street', and I swear some scenes resemble those in Alan Wake a lot!

TheArtist, I love the Wake Wars, the best yet! I hope you will make many more :)

The trailer looks awesome as well.

Here is my scrapbookings about Alan Wake, from the pictures I entered to the photo competition.

I never played it (gaming is definitely not something for me XD), but I just read the book cause I was so curious about the story, and wanted to know it all.. and loved it
And now I see the whole meaning of The Poet And The Muse too ^^

Had a funny moment when Barry asks "hey, if this was a movie, who'd play me?", cause all through the book I was thinking of him as Jack Black :D Also, if they ever make a movie out of AW, all the scenes at Andersons' farm would be epic XDXD

You're not alone. I live out in the middle of nowhere and therefore have dial-up. I'm stuck, too. People tend to forget that not everyone has hi-speed or the latest gadgets. :P

yeah. games in the form of DLC still uneffective for global market, since not anyone can reach them. they sell the xbox live card twice as expensive than in the us

It should have been for PC.

If it was for a PC, there would be even less profit for Remedy, thanks to the fans of Jack Sparrow (internet pirates). The only one that could benefit from this would be POTF themselves, cause more people would hear them.
It should have been Unix exclusive: nothing to lose, cause there's nothing to gain...

Xbox exclusivity was a Microshaft sales strategy for a dying console.. which will be 6 years old this December. I don't need to discuss this as I've already talked about it in past posts.

Considering most of the fan base for Remedy games are from the PC market and piracy for most popular games run on the Steam distribution platform or other online digital distribution platforms, I'd say they'd be a lot more in profit.

Valve are introducing a new kind of online authentication which a 'mild' form of DRM.

Baring in mind this is from the first week. (Maybe Admin can spread some light on real figures)

The simple truth is and I hope Remedy realise is that most Xbox gamers just are not interested in games like this nor appreciate it.

It should have been a multiplatform game. All that time and money on this game while other simpler games or follow ups get more attention, its's sad really.

PC gamers would have loved to play a game like this but can't justify buying an Xbox for it or play this game with stripped down visual quality due to the console limits.. oh and with a controller on top of that.

But here we are.. Microsoft's survival of the console war and exclusive titles.

Hey I love playing on Xbox. I'm terrible at mouse and keyboard controls, while the Xbox controller seems easier for me to handle. Besides, my only PC is a 1GB RAM netbook so nearly 95% of PC games are out of reach for me.

Keep in mind that Alan Wake took a full five years to develop, and game graphics quality on the XBOX platform have improved a lot over these years. There's also a bunch of other really cool games released this year, so Alan Wake got overshadowed by these other games pretty soon. I'm glad I played it though, otherwise I wouldn't have found out this awesome band called Poets of the Fall. :P

Maybe someone already mentioned this but there is another part to Alan Wake coming up in October called The Writer. It looks really awesome! It had a bit of a Inception feeling but then also an effect I saw in an independent movie called "Ink" (which I am sure is a coincidence because I am sure no one saw this fun movie but me and 10,000 of my friends) and the fun bullet time! It was posted on twitter at @remedyalerts.

Anyways just thought I would mention it. Cool trailer!
