I'm afraid that maybe the people around me that think I'm losing my sanity are right!

I don't think I can go back to wasting my time functioning what people perceive as normal. I'd rather dream of a better tomorrow than waste my time contributing to not making my dream a reality!!!! But since I don't know how to change the world, I think I should get prepared for a crash.
I've been flying high but everyone keeps trying to pull me back down to what they call reality. I refuse to come down, but I'm afraid I'll lose my sanity if I don't!

Does that make sense.

My phobias aren't too weird, at least not in my opinion...

First comes the fear of heights and falling, I hate high places and get anxious and dizzy whenever I'm near a ledge of a high place. Whenever I think about falling or leaning over a ledge I feel horrified and may even get paralyzed for just that. I don't know why I think about it, sometimes I just do. I've come across some pictures of some really tall buildings with glass floor and.. well, you can guess :(

Another thing is deep water. Swimming pools are fine, but I can't stand deep pools of nature's water for some reason. I'm also scared of the fish and other creatures that live in said water. I get nightmares about krakens and other humongous water creeps.

...And spiders are really creepy, so are silent, still ponds and lakes.

Maybe that pond/lake thing is a little wierd, I guess others might consider such places relaxing, but for me they're places of creepiness.

Perhaps in a past life I was a witch. Clown burned me.
And I'm afraid to be underground. :o

I have a weird phobia, I guess. It's erythrophobia (fear of blushing). It really annoys me ... :x

Never heard of it, actually. Didn't know one can be afraid of blushing. Hope it doesn't affect your life that much :)

Arachnophobia here in full bloom, irrational, embarrassing and ridiculous.

I suffer from claustrophobia and acrophobia. I also get really anguished in crowded and noisy places, loud voices make me always nervous. Luckily it doesn't bother me so much at concerts, but big cities and amusement parks and sometimes even school make me wanna run away...

Oh, I know that one about crowded places :) But doesn't it affect your life much?

I admit I suffer from that too, but it's not a phobia yet, I just feel deeply uncomfortable. Few years ago I got smashed in a crowd, I remember some bits and pieces, some guy dragging me out and such, but I really came to in the ambulance.

May seem ridiculous, but I'd add balloons... They're pretty, but I'm afraid of the sound they make when popping...really...hate it.

I really, really can't stand the sound that happens if you put a fork to the bottom of a saucepan. Arrgghhhh. Perhaps not a phobia but I really... really... hate it :|

ahhhh, I hate it too! If someone does it I have to leave the room, I can't stand it!

I'm dead scared of animals, and specially of dogs. Fearing dogs is not such a weird thing... but in my case, if there's dog my minds goes blocked, and I feel my legs can't keep me standing. Even if the dog is just on the otherside of the street.. and even after it goes away, it takes me sometime before I can feel ok.

In fact when I go out for a walk I always follow the same path: through time I've banned out every street where i've ever happened to see a dog even just once :?

Does that include food (which is mostly made of what was once living)?

I don't find it lame at all! I have it as well. It sucks. I hate going to huge events, like huge rock concerts, even if they are outdoors because it feels like people are so close together it would be difficult for me to get out. We have lots of street fairs and concerts that take up all of downtown Nashville and I don't go down there then.

Other than that I don't think I have any other phobias but I might be wrong!

I am a dreamer though. Too many daydreams and not enough focusing on reality but I don't think of it as a phobia, just part of who I am. I won't go into the daydreams though! That might bring up some weird stuff!

Aw Lisa I LOVE dogs! You should meet mine! They are super nice and one is like my baby, her name is Scarlett. If you met her maybe it would help to change your mind? I don't know since I love all animals (well most I don't know if like bugs would be in there and then no, I don't like those!). Anyways I hope maybe one day you will like them!

If I can ask, did you have a bad experience with one? I guess they can seem intimidating but I have always had one throughout my life and they are always part of my family. Right now I have two that are lying around me sleeping! They do a lot of that! :) Scarlett is very soft and she loves to be held.

Sorry not trying to add to your phobia. Just thought I would share with you what my dogs are like :) .

Oh and dead things. Yeah I don't care for some dead things, like animals, but I did work as a nurse assistant once and had to help with a dead person and also go to an autopsy but that didn't bother me. Don't know why there seems to be a difference for me.

I have a terrible fear of hights. Although, it takes effect only if I know it's possible to fall, not otherwise.
And I'm studying to be a painter who has to go to high places? Wtf.

And my panic disorder has resulted as some sort of fear of masses of people. Really nice. :I

@Snow: as far as I now I have never had bad experiences with dogs, unless something happened when i was really little and then my mind removed it
I know there are a lot of dogs that are cute and totally harmless... but rationality can do little about it.
Through life I've been making up a few theories on this fear, but the one thing I've never known is when and how it started.

It's hard to determine when or why my phobia struck me and there is no rationality for mine as well. I hope you don't think I was trying to make light of it. I have found that everyone has "something" and that is the way it is in life.

Bees and wasps, or basically anything that looks or sounds like them makes me run to safer grounds. Oh and big dogs and horses make me very uncomfortable in close distance. Also, I can't stand the idea of anyone (or anything) touching my back, especially backbone area. If I'm ever going to have a lumbar puncture taken, I think I'd rather refuse it, run far away and die somewhere safe or demand someone to knock me out. It's not the needles that terrify me, but.. :?

Whoopsie. I forgot to mention one "phobia". Or maybe it's more a dislike... But anyways.
Men.
I have personal problems with them. I think it all is because of my so-called dad who just left without a word before I was born and didn't want to contact me. He didn't even want to admit his paternity to avoid paying money to my mom...
And then, domestic violence. I've heard many times how mom's boyfriends have beaten her.
I guess those are good enough reasons not to trust men very easily.

I used to be an emetophobic (fear of vomiting). It got to be so bad that I needed anxiety therapy just to calm me down. That was when I was pretty young, though. I also fear flying in large passenger jets. Small planes are OK, though. Maybe it's because my dad used to fly small planes and I flew with him a few times. I'm pretty claustrophobic as well. Also, if there's a fear of cocky or big-headed people, I have it.
