Drums weren't awesome either. Perhaps this is their first shot at real drums recording, don't know.

Just one more note about this since you mentioned Phoenix Effect in another thread: it was the same drummer,

wait...(this might sound stupid) Jari didn't do the drums from DWA? just got confused by that quote above

when Phoenix Effect recorded the album, Anton was not in the band yet. :) Hope that clears it up.

Yep, like redbossfan said, Jani & Jari play the bass & drums on Phoenix Effect's debut album.

Not the right topic for that, but is there any chance Marko and Janne to to sing together again in the next PE album?

I have absolutely no idea. There's always a chance, of course. :)

As far as I know, they're still working together. So, there's a real chance. And BTW, drums in Cyanide Skies are very good. though I still cannot say anything about DWA's sound cos I haven't got my CD yet, f*ing Post Service.

About keying, I understand it's a joke but I'd just like to add that it's a very time consuming process and as such, it's also very expensive and difficult to do :) But yeah, it's possible, if you have the time and the talent to do it. We used a tiny bit of keying in this video, on the flower disappearing when the man reaches for it. That effect took about four hours to complete.

Pretty sure of it! I've worked for a studio for a few months, and had contact with keying process.
The idea itself is amazing, but it sure takes a lot of flawless set lights, angles and keen post-production professionals to make it credible.

I wonder if directors in general get somehow pissed deep inside reading jokes and negative comments about their work. If so, they probably just breathe deep and talk soft, for most people don't understand how hard it is to produce such things.
"Take a deep breath, remember it's not personal, smile, and give them a friendly answer", according to an advertising director I've met once. Oh, and he practiced Yoga. :P

Do you practice Yoga, Oskari?

This has been my most played single before any album release :P First I was a bit suspicious about the song, but seems that POTF has won again. Why can't I stop listening to this song?

No yoga for me, I learned a long time ago to separate myself from my work and not take things personally. It helps if you're happy with the finished piece, and I am very happy with DWA.

Like they say, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen... :)

Wise words!
I'm pretty glad you were able to learn such valuable thing in your life.

Sometimes, I wish I could separate myself from my work, my studies, and everything else that concerns me when it shouldn't and spoils my sleep at night.

Any wise advices to share, jedimaster Oskari? Your padawans are thirsty for knowledge that could help them thrive. :)

It just has a different sound, which seems to suit radio very well. It's already playing on several radio stations in Sweden, something that no previous POTF song has managed to do. I don't think they would play a song that is "terribly mixed". Anyway, like I said earlier, this song is quite different from most other songs on the forthcoming album. Maybe we'll get some samples soon. :)

Poets are awesome. This album is going to be epic. I'm glad you (POTF) remain genuine by putting forth your best effort every time. It clearly shows and "Dreaming Wide Awake" is an excellent example. Best of luck on the album release, you have my support.

Cheers 8)

I agree to this! I've been going through the newest album a couple of times now.
There's a lot of creativity and golden moments in here and I think the quality generally is above that of DWA. I might miss some of their "cool & rocked up" side, but no matter. What they're doing now is great, and that's what matters.
