I like the idea, seems it can't go wrong :) I'm sure we'll be interpreting the lyrics of War over and over again, and that it'll be metaphorical; and I doubt it'll be anything but wonderfully ambigous. After all I don't see the guys making songs for, I don't know, the newest GTA or something.

Interesting news, Alan Wake could be extended with DLC and even sequel! Nice! Nice! Nice!

The game's structure is borrowed from TV series meaning that the plot is divided into episodes but nevertheless it's a complete game. Think of the Alan Wake "episodes" as chapters in a book or a complete TV season in one box.

Time for another little piece of inside info, exclusively for the members of this fine forum. "War" will not be Poets' only contribution to the game... but it's actually a little more complex than that. Anyway, I'm sure you will like it!

A great musician called Petri Alanko is actually composing the soundtrack music for Alan Wake, he is currently posting interesting facts about it on Twitter:

I hope we could see POTF CDs inside the game. Do you remember there was a scene in MP2, where you can see some random LG singles? :)

That was epic :D

I liked reading about 'layered' music on that guy's Twitter. Isn't that what Akira Yamaoka did with Silent Hill too, to make it even more scary? Art of making music always amazes me so much.

It looks bloody awesome and I love the ending: "Yes, I'll write!".

Geez, AW is going to kill my social life for at least a couple of weeks!

I think it's most likely the publishers (M$) stupid policy, since they're turning away from PC-games almost completely. I think Remedy actually would have wanted Alan Wake to be released for PC too.

Wha?.. They must be kidding, huh? Do they believe the Game doesn't deserve more gamers than X-box owners? This is madness...

Pushing away the games from PC platform is a bad move for M$. Games are actual reason many people to stuck with their OS. Windows triumphs at gamers front and fails everywhere else. Too bad most of the people believe "Computer = Windows"...

I will never play Alan Wake.

A Microsoft spokesperson told Strategy Informer, "Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience 'Alan Wake' was on the Xbox 360 platform."

This is utter bullsh*t, any avid PC Gamer has a monitor screen resolution equivalent or higher than the xbox 1920x1080. I would have thought also, being closer to your monitor gives you more intimacy which is exactly what you want with Alan Wake? I don't want to share my game with other people in the room. It's a single player game.

This is nothing more than a political money driven decision, another exclusive game for the 360.

Remedy should have put their foot down, or up their asses.

Heh, somehow I have a feeling this is more like a question of principle for some people rather than a real problem. If you don't have an XBox360, just get one - the cheapest model is currently around 170 euros here in Finland. And you know what? You can also connect Xbox to your PC monitor, you don't _have_ to play it in the living room. :) After that, the only difference is keyboard&mouse vs controller, and I admit mouse is often more suited for shooters, but who cares. Millions of people play shooters successfully with console controllers without any problems.

No thanks, I'm not buying an end of life console nor using an inferior controlling device :)

This is exactly what Microsoft are trying to do, sell more consoles. Well, tough titties!

People who do not own an xbox 360 are not going to go and buy one now just for one game, (well maybe a few dedicated hardcore fans)
I am not one of them because I can't afford/justify paying for a games console and then plugging it into my awesome 'non HD' 576p CRT TV.

At the end of the day, Remedy are losing out on a huge PC fan base thanks to MS.

No way I would buy an XBox, everyone that I know owns one or had experience with it says it keeps malfunctioning and it's the worst console in the market.

We'll see about their No game for PC policy when their sales figures come tumbling down. :|

Did I say something about question of principle...

(Or "matter of principle", which might be more correct, or closer to what I mean... probably... me fail English, that's unpossible!)

It's unpossible that it's just principle and more leaning towards a problem. We could discuss this all night but in the end you will always be slightly biased as POTF have a stake in this gem of a game.

Goodnight <3
