Hello, PotF fans! I think, everybody like new PotF song "Dreaming wide awake". I'm from Russian fan community. I would like to translate that song on russian right now. But we have some problems with writing down the lyrics, nobody can catch some of words. If somebody have few free minutes and want to help, please, could you write down the lyrics? Please...

No problem, I know it was only a misspeling :)

Here's the "current version" of the lyrics (created by Gambit, and many others):

Dreaming Wide Awake

Too late, the melody is over
The joke seems to be only
‘Cause I’m the one who’s laughing
Down here on the floor
Deflate, the mystery of living
In the most heartless fashion I could ever imagine
No pretense or decoy

Chorus:
Another place and time
We got to break devine
And we could be flying deadly high
I’ll sell my soul to dream you wide awake

Another place and time
Without a warning sign
And we could be dying angels-like
I’ll sell my soul to dream you wide awake
I’ll dream you, I’ll dream you, I’ll dream you wide awake

With me, disaster finds a playfield
Love seems to draw dark twisted, pleasure tearing at me
‘Cause I can’t let you go
Mercy! Like water in the dessert
Shines through my memory like jewelry in the sun
Where are you now?

Chorus

It’s like I’m racing to the sun
The lighting face, the blazing ...
Is that the fate I will be left here without you?
That I can brace enough to run
You give me more when I have none
‘Cause I’m afraid I will be left here without you
I will wait, I will wait

Chorus

Edit: used suggestion from Elemental as it does sound like that, although mczolly's could also be right and would be the more fitting one. Maybe the line above is wrong?
Edit 2: I think it's "brace" in the meaning of "preparing"

Thanks to all the people who helped me with this!

Too late, the melody is over
The joke seems to be on me
Cause I’m the one no laughing
Down here on the floor
Deflate the mystery of living
In the most heartless fashion I could ever imagine
No pretending on decoy

Chorus

Another place and time
Without a great divide
And we could be flying deadly high
I’ll sell my soul to dream you wide awake

Another place and time
Without a warning sign
And we could be dying angels high
I’ll sell my soul to dream you wide awake

I’ll dream you, I’ll dream you, I’ll dream you wide awake

With me disaster finds a playfield
Love seems to draw dark twisted pleasure tearing at me
Cause I cannot let you go
Mercy! Like water in the desert
Shines through my memory like jewelry in the sun
Where are you now?

Chorus

It’s like I’m raising to the sun
The lying face, the blazing gun
Cause I’m afraid I will be left here without you
Like I’m raising up to moon
You give me more when I have none
Cause I’m afraid I will be left here without you

Wide awake, wide awake…

Great job Sir, great teamwork everyone who contributed to the lyrics

I still think it is "raised into the sun" and "racing up to moon" in the last verse - I could be wrong though

And at the end of the first verse I hear
"No pretense of decoy"

Everything else seems correct to me.

How do you know we didn't understand all of this by listening just once? :|

I hear that too.

and to me it seems like "It's like I'm racing to the sun", while in the line right after I just don't understand a word (I'm not too reliable, see  )

I enjoy this "let's guess the lyrics altogether"-thing :D

I first thought it was "racing to the sun" too and then I was not sure any more :D

Comparing the lyrics, I think Sir's are the more accurate, but listening to the song is weird: Depending on the lyrics I try to verify, I can hear Marko singing Sir's version and the next time the version I tried to piece together with your help o.O

Although it is undisputable "Wide awake, wide awake" at the end.

Compared to other bands, PotF songs are more abstract, philosophic and have cryptic, almost impressionistic lyrics, where (that's at least my impression) the different single independent thoughts compressed in the song are of importance and easier to grasp than the general meaning, but that depends on the song. "Deflate the mystery of living" for example reminds me of all those enemies of (neuro)biological science (some philosophers I read about) who are unhappy about the reseach, because it destroys the "magic" of live. I can be so unromantic :P

Nevertheless I would be glad to hear some interpretations, although I know, it is hard without being 100% sure of the text. Furthermore, I really hope we are going to "see" Dreaming Wide Awake in a music video!

I like it. Some of it reminds me of LUtS, and other parts remind me of the RR album in general. But I will reserve judgment until I get the single.

it's a luck it came out right on the day AFTER I'd had an exam, it could have been a problem otherwise
