Not necessarily, you should be able to hear it soon on Radio Rock too.

Not really, since it was already announced a couple of days ago on Myspace:

No doubt it will succeed 8) the music is reeeally nice, thickly layered and foamy. Too bad that the singer's voice doesn't really appeal to me either.

Sounds good, but "Phoenix Effect" is a pretty bad name.

WHAT! Since the moment I heard it, I've concidered it awesome! :) It's simple, catchy, fits Janne's history, .. all that. And it kinda reminds me of the butterfly effect which gives it even more drama and destiny-kind-of-wibe...

Oh well! We can't all like the same things, aye?

agree: I like the name, especially because I think it's quite "fitting".
And I also think it has some.. rock feeling in it, if that makes sense

there´s only one thing which makes me worried. you know, Janne was kicked out from SA.. and it was kinda big thing. it was in many radios and stuff. and now, when he has his own band, every media will remember his past and write and write and write about it. and Phoenix Effect.. people know them only because of that thing, not because of their music. :?

Is that worse than no-one knowing them at all?

@ Roccari

You are so right. Janne is such a loser. Phoenix Effect are just like this other loser-band that most non-Finnish people only know because of a benchmarking-software and a videogame. I just forgot the name.. you know, the one with the lollipop.. no, not the Sugababes, the other band....

Enough sarcasm for now.

You don't have success automatically just because you once were in a very successful band. You need luck and must be willing to work hard and be patient, too. Otherwise you will not reacxh your goals.

I like their music. I do not care about their private life and past. Is it bad?

I have will to vote!!! :)

PS: I have to add something about one of my previous posts. I meant… I don’t care about their personal life. But I do care about tunes they have made. I listen to music without remembering all personal things. (Like ex-girlfriends, fights and sexual orientation for instance)

sure ;)

@Roccari: I don't see where the problem with that is.
I think people are used to changes in bands or members creating other bands: it's not that unusual...
and anyway, at least they'll be talking about them (and there's no reason why they should say anything bad about them), then people listen and decide if they like the music or not (I do hope they'll do great: I love Broken Promises).
That's basically how it works, I guess... :)

by the way... does anybody have the lyrics to the song? They're nowhere on the Internet, and there are some words here and there I really can't get... :?

Just saw potf's note on facebook and downloaded the song off of amazon (only 89 cents!)

I also wrote up a little preview/review based on the single, which you can find here: http://theloehdown.com/node/24

for everyone who comment my last post: I didn´t say that I don´t like them. I like them a lot and that´s why I´m worried because of that bad publicity they may get.. :? That thing was just going down and nobody talked about it, at least I didn´t see any conversation.. But now, when they give an interview and so, don´t you think that reposters don´t ask from Janne about what happened with SA? It would be so much better if nobody remembers Janne´s past. it´s past and nobody can change it. butbutbut..

Don't you know that any publicity is good publicity? :) Seriously speaking, of course interviewers will ask and have already asked about this, but similarly every other interviewer still asks POTF about Max Payne & Late Goodbye and how they got their big break by having their song in a computer game. It's just something that happens and can be a little irritating at times, but in the end, it doesn't really hurt anyone.

Yeah. And, for example, the way things are with Foo Fighters these days, it seems the past can be forgotten (in a decade or so :D).. at least I think there's no more talk about Kurt & Nirvana that much with Grohl anymore.

hmmmm.. you keep telling me I´m worring for nothing. :? maybe I am.. I´d like to say something but well, better if we (read: I) just wait and see how it goes and support them..

Quote:
1. Go to: http://ylex.yle.fi/ylex-musiikki/himotu ... ction=form

2. Choose Phoenix Effect - Broken Promises from the drop down menu to "Biisi 1"

3. Choose any other song to "Biisi 2" and "Biisi 3"

4. Scroll down to the end of the page and press "Vastaa!" button

5. The system directs you to the page where the last weeks chart is displayed. Your vote is counted if the page says "Kiitos vastauksestasi"

6. Choose "Äänestä" button at the top of the page to get back to voting

7. Repeat the same as many time as you want and have strenght in your fingertips :)

And, as added fun, you can type "Poets of the Fall - Revolution Roulette" in the field that says "Oma ehdokas" ;)

LET'S DO THIS PEOPLE!!! :) Your efforts are needed and they don't cost one bit!

I heard the song, but, isn't it more related to metal than to Rock? I might like it if I listen to it few times.
