One of LA's most important radio stations is KROQ 106.7fm, a venerable, wildly popular Progressive Rock station that specializes in providing showcases for independent artists. Since PotF is about as independent as they come (doesn't get much more Indy then running your own label) I think there's a real chance they'll listen if we just yell at them loudly enough.

I've been writing in trying to request "The Ultimate Fling" but I'm just one person. I cannot stress how HUGE the number of requests needed to actually get something on the air here really is. We need all the help we can get.

To put in a request, go HERE: http://www.kroq.com/ and select "KROQ Music" from the side menu. Since PotF isn't on the drop-down menu, click the button to write it in.

Give me a hand people. Several of them even. Please? Please please please?

Great Gogo! Thank you!

....Now do it again! And again and again: you can refresh the "request" page an unlimited number of times by just clicking on the "request a song" button again, so go crazy!

Yes, it's cheating, no, I don't care. Lets do this, people!

Here's a shortcut:
http://www.kroq-data.com/request/

Click on the link "click here to write it in" which is just below the submit button. (In case the graphics are as distracting to you as they were to me :D )

Oh yeah, I also voted. :) Hopefully Puff Diddy, Piddy, Yiddy, *sigh* Sean Combs is happy that I voted and won't come chasing after me like in that South Park episode.

Requested TUF. I think we should all request TUF as a song for beginning, huh? Good luck with that :)

Don't forget to vote multiple times, guys! Again, we need a BIG number to make this happen!

If they can break here in LA, the rest of the world will follow pretty damn quickly, so get those votes in!

You got me up and working at it, Dreamer! There's currently not much action in the Swedish street team so I kinda emigrated to yours for a while. Any street teaming is good street teaming :P

I don't mean to sound rude or anything... but why would you think that LA is the hub of the universe? I know that LA is a popular city but something like that happening?

...I remember reading some time on the forum that the stations won't play anything that doesn't have a contract/record label behind them in the country...

LA has a population of around 11-12 million and is the entertainment hub of the USA, population 303 million. The Sunset Strip (where PotF performed) is the heart of that music industry. Everyone from Frank Zappa to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Metallica to No Doubt to the Black Eyed Peas to Sublime to Snoop Dogg to System of a Down to Weezer hit it big using LA as a launching pad.

And Bel, what you're saying is probably true, but large numbers of requests, at least, will hopefully get someone out there wondering. And it's not like it'd take more then a google search to lead them here. We're never going to get what we want if we don't ask for it. 8)

Of course we will do everything that can be done to spread PotF music, but AFAIK indie bands' situation in US is kind of strange as Bel said. Let's hope this will work anyway.

My mother has been a lover of Rock since the late 60s, and listens to KROQ all the time. We were driving downtown and since it was my birthday -I- got to pick the music, so I made everyone listen to Revolution Roulette.

"Miss Impossible" came on and my mom got this wrinkled look on her face and said it sounded familiar. It was the first time I'd played the album for her, so I was surprised. She said she thought she'd heard it on KROQ.

I said I doubted that. For all I know, PotF doesn't have a formal USA radio dealie thingie yet.

Mom thought for a second and then said "Well, it's better then most of the stuff they play on KROQ."

DM, I could've sent this as a pm, but maybe other people can do this, too. Send this link to our Street Team MySpace page and tell her (Kaysea) to post it as big and bright as possible. Explain to her the significance of it. The more people know about this, the more votes we'll have. She can even post it on the bulletin board, and/or add it to a blog.

I'm glad you didn't PM me, because now I can announce to the world that I don't have a Myspace and someone else will have to contact the myspace street team since outsiders aren't allowed to send messages.

I'm researching the KROQ DJs. If I can figure out what they like and dislike individually, I'll know which one to e-mail.

Guys, we REALLY need votes, I'm dyin' out here.

Well, as long as I'm wasting votes, I might as well request "Lift." Just cuz my love of that song goes very deep. And a friend of mine was a Poets convert some 30 seconds into it.

See the sort of hijinks I get up to all on my own? Someone help me out here!

http://www.kroq-data.com/request/

And Artist, someone, message the Myspacers to join in...
