What I liked best was how he just lit up when talking about what really amounts to fulfilling a dream-playing in L.A. and seeing the Pacific. He told of how crazy Olli was because Olli apparently dove right in and swam in it!
As well he should! Good man, that Olli.

Yeah, the people in charge yelled at everyone to get out, but I stayed put, and boy, was I glad I did. Olli came out a little later. It took him about 3 extra seconds to recognize me.
Yeah, I didn't think they would really have dragged us from the hall right in front of the Band. What the Band wants should come first in any good venue. Artist, it is still so cool you know them like you do.

Later on, after getting buttons from Tiia (Thank you!) I introduced myself to Jani. Jani, like Jaska, sort of knew who I was from my adventures in captioning, which was cool.[/i]
TheArtist is the crowned queen of the Caption thread. Man, I wish I could have stayed there that long: bouncers don't scare me but my Ride was fretting about his parking....

I was so glad that Marko was well and Cap was almost there.
Are you kidding me? Captain performed like that
while feeling ill? Yeesh, if he's that lively while sick I can only imagine the wild force he is when healthy.

Cap told me the gig felt like their first one, because the crowd didn't know them, but I told him what I saw.
AND, silver lining: by arriving late you actually were in a position to make that observation, at least, a better position then we up in the front were, with our attention fixed as it was.
Poets music does have a bit of a learning curve: it's easy to dismiss their stuff as good but generic the VERY first time you hear it. But it sticks with you, soon you can't get it out of your head. By the time you can't stop thinking about it either and start pondering it's deeper meanings, you're done for, you're hooked.
I think if they'd played a longer set, they would have attracted more and more people. But if my Ride, a very smart man with no industry experience, said that he could easily picture these guys commanding a much larger crowd, then it's hard to imagine an experienced Music Producer can't.

The House of Blues sits on a steep hillside, and it was at the top where the taxis were. As I walked along, Jaska was the perfect gentleman and pulled my little carry-on for me. (Knock me down with a feather, why don'tcha?) Sami followed along. I hugged them both (Heh, I think I surprised Sami...he wasn't expecting that!) wished them well, and walked over to the taxi. I yelled, "Good night, gentlemen!" over my shoulder, for they were still standing back on the corner, making sure I was okay. I can't tell you how awesome that felt.
Talk about a story fit to warm the heart. TA, you are one lucky, lucky lady, and yet at the same time, I feel they're the nice guys who don't think too much about such small acts of consideration. How many Rock Stars can say that?

In all, I was probably there for no longer than an hour and a half...and yet, if I had to do it all over again, I would. In a heartbeat.

Well said, TA. VERY well said.
