I went to see Flyleaf in concert last year. While they were fantastic, (sound like Evanescense and Lacuna Coil, only edgier) and a band you should definitely check out, two of their opening bands really grabbed my attention. One was Mighty Sideshow, a rock band out of Tennessee, and the other is Resident Hero, who reside in Los Angeles but started out in Texas.
Out of those two, Resident Hero was my favorite. They were just 3 guys (sound familiar?) and they were the funniest, sweetest guys there, and their music was amazing. Their sound is very rock-based, but simple, clean, and a little gentler at times. I wish I could describe it better, but I don't know how. As for Mighty Sideshow, they had an awesome sound as well, similar to Tool, Metallica, and Nickelback. Please check out all of them.

Omg  I never thought I'd see him of all people in this thread :D

The song isn't exactly new but agreed - it's a nice song at least for party moods!

Yeah I like it too :D I sent it to Alev a while back when she was asking for some songs by Swedish artists :D This Danny guy was in Swedish Idol like two years ago or something like that and it's gone well for him since then, although he's in this ... cheesy... boy band at the moment

I`ve just checked a few songs by the other two bands, it`s not absolutely my style, but sounds good anyway :)

I can't keep the pace up with this thread, but I'm trying my best!
I started listening to some of the Flyleaf songs... and geez... they're really, really good :) Her voice is so extraordinary, it's unusual to have a singer like her in a band like this :)

I'm working my way through the others!

End of Green.

A german band who describe their style as being 'depressed subcore'.

I like most of their songs, 'Dead End Hero' being my favorite of them all.

You can download that one from their website,
or watch the video on YouTube.

     O... M... G... first person I meet who has heard of this band... I love them so, so much... :)

A band I would like to share and I think is not that popular, even in Finland (correct me if I'm wrong guys) is Kiuas. Power/melodic metal with just a touch of black/death vocals. They are active since 2004 and so far have 3 full length albums and a couple of EPs and singles. Something like one month ago they released their second official video from the third album (The New Dark Age) - Conqueror.
Lyrics of all the albums deal with mythology and pagan gods, mainly Ukko and the other Finnish gods. Lyrics are written by their guitar player.

I've tried Pain, the other one I will try. :)

I was browsing my music and I remembered Timo Tolkki, the mind of Stratovarius. He recently did a rock opera called Saana: Warrior of Light. It's going to be in at least two parts, first one is called Journey to the Crystal Island, second one, as far as I remember Journey to the Azores. There's nothing rock in the first part, actually, but it's really touching and true to a certain extend. The booklet is AMAZING, I've never seen such a beautiful booklet. I might say it's the best opera I've heard so far and I think I've heard all of them from Aina to Avantasia and Ayreon.
Seriously, I was thinking this guy is some crazy a little too ambitious metalhead with some mental disorder, but after this opera I change my mind completely... he's crazy, but in a good way. So... everyone here, hear it. And do it with the booklet in front of you, it's magical 40 minutes...
