so the story is about a guy who writes books about the spookies cemeteries the spookies houses and now hes gonna do one about the spookiest hotels, where ghosts visit yopu at night XD basically that guy doesnt believe in all that stuff and is more or less amused how people reeally believe this. then he he finds a postcard in his mailbox, that says do not enter room 1408 in the dolphin hotel in new york. well, that really caught his attention and he tries to get that hotel room. the rest you have to find out yourself. ;)

its not bloody at all, just damn thrillerish XD and some parts of it are really insane, to be honest i really dont like staying in hotels anymore XD

I'm curious now too. I do not like horror movies though. Is it more like horror with loots of blood and stuff or more like a thriller where the worst things happen in your imagination?
I do like John Cusack though

I´ve been under the impression that it´s a ghostly type of thing. Could be totally wrong though.

Somehow the story makes me think of "The Shining", but I have never seen that one either and only have a vaue idea what it is about ;)

Anyway, I might give it a try and watch it with the lights on or better yet in broad daylight. ;) I'm really chicken when it comes to horror movies. I do love good thrillers though and sometimes there is a fine line between those.

yeah there are pretty great thrillers but damn crappy ones as well. but this one is damn good. and theres one point when you think, ok now i got it, it will work like this, and turn out like that, but then the entire story works in the opposite way youn know? you thought you got it, but the story really has some parts that turn out completely different from what you'd expect

I haven't seen it and I don't want to. I haven't even seen Nightmare on Elmstreet. I know people who think it's funny, but it gives me the creeps. *shudders*

well it depends on the movie. i'm damn picky and have a pretty precise taste XD so if just a little thing doesnt fit i dont like the movie XD so you could say out of 100 movies i would consider 3 to be cool ;) so i just put the dvd in my laptop, snuggle in bed and watch it ;)

I have seen so many movies that I have become pickier. I still enjoy going out to see them. There are many that I find OK, many I really enjoy. And once in a while there is one that I find brilliant, or one I love. Those I need to own. I also own a lot that I just know I will enjoy waching again.
If I can make it, I go to the Hamburg movie festival once a year, just to check out movies that I may not be able to see elsewhere. Not this year though *sigh*.

Hm, is it about time to get back on topic?

Not the last one I watched, but one I did think was brilliant: Control

Hm, do we have a favorites topic somewhere? ;)
And I'm personally happy your message cause a stir. I had completely forgotten about 1408. :)

Edit: geez, so many mistakes - did I mention I'm spelling impaired? ;)

... i did not know that it is an animated movie, took like half an hour to get used to that but then it was okay, just a bit too much blood and gore and too less characters.

One of those movies that leave you with a smile on your face and feeling good. Nice story. Nothing special, but I liked it.

Just watched The Bank Job, it was decent... not that exceptional but wasn't bad either. And, Jason Statham is in it, so... =)
