EDiT: About the festivals!

It took me quite a while, and I should really be studying, but who cares? I've so far emailed to the chiefs of festival at:

- Arvikafestivalen
- Hultsfredsfestivalen
- Get A Gig Festival
- Peace and Love Festival
- Tivolirock
- Way Out West

I chose the ones I thought might be appropriate forums for POTF to play at, from the site Festivalinfo. If you wanna participate, drop emails to these people like bombs and get them POTF to some of our beloved festivals

I was also wondering, I'm gonna make some CD's for spreading, which songs do you suggest I include? TUF seems the ultimate choice of course, haha =)

Right, one of the festival chiefs or whatever they're called emailed me back yesterday:

"Hej!

Vi lägger till er myspace-länk i lyssningen till årets festival, bokningarna sker i början av maj."

(ENG: "Hi! We'll put your myspace-link in the tune-in for this year's festival, the bookings will start in May." Approximately )

Great news huh? A small step for a street teamer is a giant leap for POTF... hehe =)

It's been a while since I used the links, but head to site Festivalinfo and check out these different festivals. Scout for anything that might be of interest and email the festival leaders you can get hold of. The more pressure we can put on 'em the better!

Also add the Street Team as friends on Myspace if you got one, and if you have time, bombard the radio stations with requests! Even those that wouldn't normally play it (these retarded pop stations)... I've heard rumours that TUF is sneaking its way in there too and man would it make me happy to see that happen!

Hey yeah! Spreading posters, flyers and stickers (starting a week or more) before the gigs in Stockholm and Gothenburg .. that's something someone would have to do. I'll obviously send you all the things you need for that and something nice as a bonus & a reward too..

I've just finished emailing the most prominent radio stations, local and national. I've requested TUF to be played, told some basic info of the band, mentioned the upcoming gigs and nicely asked if they might be able to mention the gigs on air, or possibly note some info down on their sites.

So far I think our biggest shot lies with Bandit Rock, since TUF is part of their playlist. But we might also stand a good chance to gain confidence with Megapol Radio City Gothenburg, since they have played POTF songs in the past.

Well I just got even better news!

This guy at Banditrock just called me up! He says they will promote the Poets gigs on the radio and on the site as soon as I can get them a little more information about the gigs. What he wanted to know was who the gig arranger is and how to get in contact. Also he says he needs something like a tour poster in .jpg-format to be able to add it to their concert guide on their site.

In exchange for this all he wanted me to do was promote Banditrock back when attending the gig - he would get back to me on the when's and the how's early next week.

Tiia, do you know where I can get some more info? In particular about the Gothenburg gig?

Arghs, I wished it would be that easy to get them played on radio here in Germany, or even better promotion for upcoming gigs.

Considering that Poets have played in a happening arranged by Bandit, they should already know all this. But as mentioned, Sami Peura (POTF's manager) at Sam Agency is the right person to contact..

Hey Tiia, d'you know if the tour poster's been sent digitally to this dude at Bandit? It's not up on their site yet I've understood that they might be getting the file from Anna Moore, but unless that happens...

Becca again. While waiting for the Sticky posters to arrive, I've spent a couple minutes (and ink) printing out the promo poster for the GG gig in various different sizes and forms. I thought I'd spend an hour or two asking around at cafés and stuff if I might leave a bunch there, probably during Friday.

Edit: I've put one of the RR promo posters (now safely arrived) up at work, along with a bunch of the GG flyers. Checked how many was still left today and was pleased to see soon half of them are gone I thought where I work'd be a good spot to promote since it's close to Uddevalla and a lot of people pass by there (it's a gas station).

I've been trying to convince my very cynical colleague to have a listen for weeks, and thought my attempts were useless until today, when suddenly he asked me how many POTF albums had been made. Turns out I promised (or forced it on him, depending on how you see it ) that I'd make him a sample CD til tomorrow.

Hey, unfortunately I was "on tour" for two weeks and wasn't able to do anything about these posters I'm sorry.

You said "have arrived", where did you finally get them? AND are there any people willing to spread flyers this week in Stockholm/Gothenburg? We can't send any, but I'm sure we could come up with something...

Ohh Tiia, don't worry, we've been doing pretteh good

They arrived Friday, not the last one but the one before that I think, and StenFan and me put up about half of them around Gothenburg the day after. We were saving the rest for the weekend that's been but then I suddenly had to work

I was planning to go down tomorrow or Wednesday to put up the rest. I was also thinking I'd text the gig place and date on them, would that be a good idea?

Also of course volunteering for flyer spreading, whatever the solution might look like. I will be free to do it all week!
