I'm from Canada. Somehow on my MP3 player I ended up with about 7 songs that had no title, no artist, no anything.... downloaded somehow on my PC.... i love a rock & roll puzzle like nothing else!! so as the weeks and months passed, any rocker I saw, usually at the gym, while listening I would ask... who is this by? one of the songs was "Sorry Go Round" but I had no clue, only knew that whoever it was, they had what it takes to make my blood rush faster and put a smile on my face just listening to the fantastic lyrics and music! No one knew who it was, one guy said Orgy but I never pursued that. Googled once, came up with nothing, guess i had a word wrong. Googled again tonight, and WOW! it's POETS OF THE FALL???? WHO ARE THEY???? I'll be checking this site out for some more.... I hope I like the rest of it as much as i like that one song. I am always looking for new music, especially by bands that ONLY THE COOL PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT ;)

My first POTF song was Lift. First time, I was at a friend's place and he had it in his playlist. I went ":O" and had to beg (yeah, he was cruel, I know...) to have it...
And then I infectted a lot of other friends...
He he he... That was nice...

It all began with max payne two. My dad had just finished the game and called me to the computer for the end credits. The music entranced me. Its lyrical majesty held me in a firm grip, holding my mind a hostage in its beauty. I listned to those credits many times, but never thought to check for the band.

A year or two later my dad was using 3dmark 2006 to test our PC. I watched and i heard the voice once more the song was lift, i was hooked. I found the band but never a CD (im not good at finding things). A while after my uncle Lenny brought over a CD he had recovered from eBay and to my suprise I heard the music once more. This time i checked eBay and once more i was dissappointed, but after a week i had 'Signs of life' ordered. After carnival of rust came out (the CD) i was awestruck once more, I simply hope for more and more of the poets music. Maybe someday it will reach Canada and demolish the crap that holds 'Top 10' spots on the radio.

LOL, Hey robyn. Sorry Go Round is one of the best songs by the poets but I'm nearly sure you'll like most (if not all) of the others.

In 2003 my sister had heard "Lift" from the radio and she went to see their gig in Jyväskylä. She tried to make me a fan also, but I was so deep inside the heavy-metal music, that nothing else interested me.

At the time I was dating a music producer and my intrests started to change. Soon I was listening some other kind of music as well. Then one day, when my husband was making some melancholy-metal-bands album, one of their song reminded me of "Lift" and I went and bought Signs of life and Carnival of rust. So, it was a long journey for me to find this band but I´m glad that I did it

I remember hearing Lift from radio in 2004 and liking it a lot, I didn´t buy the album then though. I heard some songs from Signs of life after that but I didn´t "wake up" until hearing CoR from radio. After that I bought both albums at the same time. I´ve been a fan ever since, I just simply haven´t had time to do forums until now... :P

Don't laugh now ;) : Through a Robbie Williams forum.

I made some Finnish friends there and they all kept telling me how great POTF were - that was in 2005. That year, some of us did Secret Santa for Christmas and one of my Finnish friends was my Santa. among other stuff she sent me an mp3 CD with lots of different music from different Finnish artists.

I went almost straight for POTF because I had heard so much about them. I remember Lift was on there, 3 am and late goodbye. I listened and I instantly loved those songs. I knew I needed that album. Not much after that one of my other Finnish friends wnated me to order something at Amazon.de for her, so I asked her to trade me for SoL - she did and that's how I received the album :). When I listened to the entire CD for the first time I fell in love with it right away.

My brother had few songs of Poets Of The Fall. He listen to them very often, and showed me the video of Carnival Of Rust, well after that I couldn't get the song out of my head! I went always listen to the songs in his computer, when I was so hooked that I bought both albums.
Now, I'm bigger fan than my brother!

I thank my brother every day for founding this an amazing band and showing it to me. And if it would be possible, I would like to thank Poets Of The Fall every day too.

I kind of discovered them two times.

Back in 2006 a finnish friend of mine sent me "Lift" and I listened to it for a while.
But since it really wasn't my style.. I forgot about it.

Then, a while ago I heard "The Ultimate Fling" on the radio, and I totally fell in love with it. :) So now I'm a fan.
