Cool. I'm in Wisconsin and live close to Madison. I think we have many American fans here but we're kind of scattered all over. Any form of organization would be a big help. 8)

If POTF can come here, they've got to go to Summerfest, held in Milwaukee, WI and holds the record for being the largest music festival in the world.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summerfest
http://mobile.summerfest.com/index.cfm

Also, Madison's music taste has always been independent and eclectic. The band Garbage still has roots here, and the local rock station, 94.1 WJJO, is always promoting new bands and holding contests for kids to help them get started. I don't know if any of that helps, but I know POTF would do well here. I'll try to find out more stuff as I go and post what I find here.

I'm in Ohio, and know of some other PotF fans. I've gotten some of my friends into them also.
I'd love to help out here any way I can.

Are we each doing one for our own state? Our collectively as the USA? Or both?

I think a collective would make the most sense, considering how spread out everyone is. Plus we're the UNITED states :P

Collectively would be the best way to start. And then once things get up and running branching off to our own states also. That might keeps things more organise and focused later on. I know some teams it that way.

Jeesh, us Americans really are scattered around, aren't we... :D

Iowa, right here. I've been speading the word around like wildfire in my school, and am requesting Locking Up the Sun to be played when graduation annoucements start going through the area radio stations. Hopefully there aren't any legal issues (there shouldn't be, should there?), because I actually bought a single for them and will deliver it within the next couple weeks.

best way to keep in touch right now (myspace sucks for me) is email.

I'm gonna be doing more physically than i am on the net, going out and distributing the flyers, cd's etc. so if anyone needs to contact me, you can at

winglau13@hotmail.com

I really wanna see the band in America soon. They're quality stuff, and some of the crap music that DOES make it here doesn't hold a candle to PoTF.

Yeah. I've got a few myspace accounts myself. I'll set up an e-mail account for the team also. I'm on Yahoo messenger right now under Miss_Kaysea_X and normally AIM with Miss Kaysea X. But AIM isn't working for me right now.

All right, let's think a bit here. Until PotF gets an American distributor, there's not a whole lot we can do to promote the band as far as getting their music on the air. Copyrights and all that, unfortunately. Could we make flyers and paste them everywhere for people to visit the website and the MySpace page? That could be a start. Otherwise, it looks like it's up to good old-fashioned word-of-mouth.

I'm going to start working on banners for the myspace page this weekend. Hopefully I can come up with some decent ones. Any suggestions? Or ideas?

One banner for now. A couple different sizes...

Just copy and paste the code where you want it to show up.

Let me know if something doesn't work.

Code:
<a href="http://myspace.com/potfusa"><img alt="" src="http://kayseax.com/potf/a04.gif" /></a>

It looks great, Kaysea. I'd add the regular website first as well.

I've been thinking about a name for us. I wish that Prowlers would be universal, but since everyone is picking different names, I came up with something else. When the guys get here, they're going to be exploring new territory, breaking new ground, right? So I thought, how about the name, Pathfinders? If someone has a better idea, I'd love to hear it. 8)

Hey gang. My bf told me about this station in Milwaukee. You might know others, and if so, post them here! This is 102.1, and every Mon-Thurs, they play indie and underground bands on the air. I checked with Tiia, and it's okay to request that they play our guys, so flood them with emails until they get so sick and tired of us, they'll get the albums and play them just to shut us up. (It won't work, though. Mwahahahaha!) Here's the link.

http://www.fm1021milwaukee.com/onair/indie_soundcheck.shtml

Scroll down to the bottom and click there to send them the request! Again, if you know of any other stations that do this, don't hesitate to say so! Let's get the guys over here!

i haven't begun making fliers yet, but have made a bunch of cd's with one or two Poets songs on them, and have left them in all kinds of places with the website on the front. have already made some 40-50 cd's with only 3 songs on them.

Sorry I have not gotten to finish up any more banners. Medical and personal issues have gotten in the way a bit.

As for the myspace page, if everyone who is working on something, could message the page with what they are.
For example, the requesting at the radio station? Send the site and where to request.
I'd like to put up a blog with all the ways fans can help get the poets played over here.
Same thing for anyone else who has banners or ideas.

There is a local radio station where you can send them music and they'll play it. Or at least, that's how it used to run. If it's still doing things that way, I can request Maybe Tomorrow is a Better day. Since you can download it off of the internet for free I would assume it wouldn't cause any legal problems

Okay, the blog on the myspace has been updated. It has the information to the POTF myspace contest.
It also has a blog now with all of the banners/graphics for the USA street team.
There's quite a few now, so be sure to check it out. And send any ideas or comments you have too.

My first official street team contribution was made just earlier today. With the band's approval (thanks Admin!), I brought one of my Locking Up the Sun singles to a nearby radio station. It will be played during a "Class Days" event on Saturday night, where graduating students in the area request their favorite song. Obviously, since we're in the heart of America, the station neither had the CD nor heard of POTF, so I solved that problem. Starting this weekend, it has the possibility of playing in regular syndication with other songs after approval from the manager.

Free publicity for the Poets, gotta love it. 8)

ALL RIGHT!!! GREAT WORK, WILL!!!! YAHOO!!! Go get 'em!!! :D  8)

And let's figure out a name for us, huh? Do you guys like Pathfinders? Or, as a quip and a nod to history, how about Pilgrims? Or any other name? (It doesn't have to start with a P, y'know.) :P
