Carnival of Rust is now available in Australia, Russia and Ukraine! That's great news! I'm looking forward to see some reports of availability in these countries. Is this album promoted in media? Does it mean that CoR will be played in radio stations? Will it be released in other countries soon, too? 8)

I googled it and it was the first page in results. "One of the largest independent record labels in Australia."

Good news indeed. Not that I wouldn't be happy for any country, but why Ukraine? I mean is there a special reason for it or sth?

Yup, not that it's bad, it's just quite strange. It was stated in PotF facts from SA that SoL was also released in Ukraine. It seems that our band simply had no problems with singing a distribution deal there. :)

Nothing wrong with Ukraine, just from a finnish standpoint the choice seems a bit strange :). I mean "usually" it's sth like Japan or Germany...

I don't know all the details on how publishing music in different countries works, but I guess it depends very much on different companies, the deals between them, and so on. You need to have someone in the target country to actually handle the distribution, and in this case Playground probably already had some established connections to the countries in question, or something like that. In any case, it's not like "publishing our album in the US would be nice - let's do it next!". Music business can be tricky, I know...

Did anybody else notice Amazon is finally selling the Carnival of Rust album? £16.99 and a 4-6 week wait. Joy.

I'll stick to RecordShopX

Sorry, that I didn't read the whole thread - I'm in a hurry. (and I'm German which means I'm just terribly stupid and annoying ... *winksatcarni* xD )

Can someone tell me if there are any online stores that have
the Lift and Late Goodbye Singles (or one of them) available AND
are shipping to Germany?

Thanks! ^^

There aren't any... Hard copies of the singles haven't been selling for a long time now and the band isn't planning on doing a re-release any time soon (if ever). You could get lucky and find them on eBay (or a similar bidding site), but look forward to a hefty price tag. (I spent about 50 euros for my pair...)

You could always buy/download the singles from iTunes, but it really isn't the same as having the actual CD.

Perhaps there will be the same situation with current singles in the future when they become famous for the whole world.. We could become millionaires :D

By the way, I also noticed that it's possible to buy CoR single in Poland thanks to Germanies - it's available in the "Foreign Catalog" but currently it's not available.

*sigh*

Patience, as it has been stated time and time again!

Me = poor college student, can't afford $50 for an import CD in the US. :( Guess it's iTunes for now!

Here's hoping, though. ;) It's only a matter of time before PotF goes worldwide. It's inevitable!

Time...

I hear you on that, Nachende. However, check out Record Shop X in the Shop link. Their prices are insanely cheaper, they're pretty fast, and they accept Paypal. That's where I ordered my copies from, and I'm one happy camper. 8)

Hey nachende, does it actually mean that you have downloaded their music from iTunes? So it's possible after all?

If you want the CDs, I also recommend Record Shop X. They're the best! 8)

I guess not. :/ I hadn't actually checked until after I'd posted, in the rare hope that there was a way of finding the actual CDs. *sighs, shakes a fist at iTunes*

Thanks again! Cookies for all!

edit: just bought Signs of Life and Carnival of Rust -- though they'll probably be gifts for my roommate. She'll be ecstatic. ^____^

Hi guys, I know this question doesn't really fit into this topic, but I didn't really find a better one... So my question is: Can anyone tell me when Potf are going release a new album? I just can't get enough of their songs ;)

Yep, at least lots of Finnish users have already used it, with great satisfaction!
