Maybe it's a bit too early to talk about it, but why not? :)

I'd like to know how you imagine the next Poets' album? We can discuss what you'd like to hear on the next album, what you'd like to change... and when do you think it should be released? :P

What will be the title of the next album? Again "X of Y" (heh)? Will it once again feature the strong beginning and calm ending?

What new should be introduced to PotF music? I'm thinking new instruments (I'd love to hear PotF music with violinos, strings and even the whole orchestra!) and maybe... duets with female vocalists?

I'd like to hear PotF more melodic, like in All The Way, Someone Special, and also The Beautiful Ones (raw vocal without additional voices?), but also... more Lift like (Geez, it's so hard to decide! What about releasing two discs: 1 - "Good", 2 - "Evil" with two hours of music like RHCP =D). And another thing that's in my mind it's more experimenting with sound and instruments. Maybe more electronica as in the live intros, that are (from what I've heard) really great, of PotF concerts or in Overboard? And more non-typical songs (no default verse-refrain-verse-refrain)?

I hope we'll have a neat discussion.

I agree with everything. Especially with the duet thing with female vocalists; pick me, pick me! :D And I'd love to hear cello in their songs. It would also be nice to have a slightly different structure in their next album, and a bit more humour. But like Freakie, I'm sure I'll love the next one no matter what. Poets have really convinced me as songwriters.

I see that you're in fond of these topics, eh Wlodi? ;)
The title of the third album will not be "Sth of Sth", because Poets like to change many things, which are connected with thier music. I think it would be great to hear S&M-alike album (I think the best title would be S&P - Symphonica and Poetica ).
Anyways, all we can do now is just to sit and wait. =)

well they always got more than that....

i hope the new album will be more like SoL.
more the acoustic mystic songs like shallow, like seek you out, like illusion and dream like someone special, late goodbye, stay ........ and less rock songs like gravity or fire or delicious or sgr or luts...
poets are a great rock band.... but i think they better with the melancholic songs

poets of the fall... well i think they have found their style, all they need now it to keep on building on it, mark should keep singing, ollie keeping guitairing, the band is perfect the way it is

however, i like the idea of keep the theme of album title with x of y its awsome that way... i bet their next one is going to be in May of 2007, i am almost certain

:D

Yeah well I hope they never read this, because it would be awful if they felt some kind of pressure of what kind of music they should do. It has to come from their own creativity. But if they're looking for a female singer you could mention me... :P

Yeah n i forgot to say that i hope Mark doesn't do any duettos with anyone. His voice sounds so damn good by itself, don't want some female vocalist to ruin it.. except Ollie and Mark would sure sing together. That would be hot :D

I would be interested if they make such a tightly co-ordinated album with a real drummer and bassist.

but then they need a really great drummer (like travis barker *g*)
and a bassplayer like flea .)

but i think it should be as it is....
poets are THE VOICE and THE GUITAR and THE LYRICS and a great producer - thats all they need

If someone feels pressured by a bunch of fans, they have a problem. I don't think Poets of the Fall will start recording a new album, just because a thread "told them to." I is going to be up to them to decide when to make it, like it was with Signs of Life and Carnival of Rust. We are just a bunch of people who love Poets of the Fall, and are sure as hell that when the next album comes out Poets of the Fall, will once again show they beautiful skill, their wonderful talent, and more over, they will once again show that they are better than we ever imagined.

When the next album comes out. It will be all the things we hope for and more. It will carry many things that are new and some things that what we look for when we listen to Poets of the Fall. I am sure that we are all waiting, and all hoping that Poets of the Fall will keep their awsome talent in center of their music and make it resonate with power like the bells of an old church.

Poets of the Fall will live forever...

Better keep POTF away from this forum, or, like they are perfectionists, they will be terrified...

Long ago somebody posted a name (sorry, can't remember who), which I used for signature 'till the second album name was announced
When Silence Falls
That is my favourite for album's name

I want only one thing from the third album: more of POTF!

EDIT: Maybe "amor", "vita", "lumen"... come up with any names for the album, that would be formed out of these letters? :)
