They have to come back and return Jaska (since they abducted him last week and he is needed on stage tomorrow). If the music helps to bring the aliens back, that's a good thing. ;)

Oh that's awesome Victor. Your first one is much clearer than mine! Perfect!

Hey Victor, it says you're from NY? Have you thought about joining the US Street Team, or are you already on it and I don't know your user name?

Hey guys!! Poets won Creme Brulees top 20 pick of the week! This wasn't a US street team campaign but we can still promote thru this. I posted under the winning link of Poets how great this is and if they are playing Poets then I am listening. They are very friendly and had good things to say about the band, including that they have been playing them since 2007! It would be great if everyone went over and commented their support of Poets under the winning link right here

And here are the top winners

They said this as well, which is awesome!:
"This is also the first time a track has gained enough votes to top our airplay charts within 24 hours of debuting on our station."

Also, share this on your twitters and Facebook walls:)

ETA: The DJ from Creme Brulee just joined the team :) This is great :) More promotion!

Hey folks, if you would like to help out a bit, Renegade/EuroRock Radio played CiL and Fragile today. I have already gone and thanked them on their page. The more comments showing support for Poets the better as they are thinking of doing a full Poets night next Tuesday! And here is the link for your convenience!!

Hey fellow US Poets fans! Want to know what's happening with the US street team? We are working hard and moving right along in our efforts to get the band more recognized here in the states.
We've got a cool online radio station campaign that's quick and easy and we have actually seen the rotation of Poets songs INCREASE on these stations we are watching! We also have a few of the stations DJs on our street team now, which should mean more Poets play for these! We actually just got another DJ this morning who joined the team from TapDetroits station after he played a nice big block of Poets songs for us! He has promised to play a lot more Poets music from now on! See what we can accomplish?
This weekend, a few of us from 3 different states are meeting up in San Francisco to do another flier/music campaign!
In 2 weeks, another member in another state is holding her own music/flier promotion day on the day of her colleges' orientation! She will have lots of people around to pass on fliers to!

If you would like to help us do these cool things to help Poets and have fun while doing it, come check out the team! We can always use more feet hitting the street!!

Our motto is "Let's hit the streets so Poets can hit the States!!"

Come give us a hand!!

A Poets of the Fall Street Team USA(Any Region)

Hey guys! Tonight is DJ CJ Plains' test run for his new radio show on Renegade Radio which airs out of Texas USA. He will play a 5 block set between 6-8pm CST. CJ has joined the US street team and promises to play more Poets music!! Anyone who can, give a listen and then give some feedback to CJ and Renegade Radio. The street team will be listening and giving good feedback, but you don't need to be a team member to do this :) Lots of good feedback = lots more air time! Thanks!!

Hey folks! I thought I would post how our street team endeavor went yesterday in San Francisco.
Two of our team members from other states were coming to CA on this weekend so we decided to get together with two of us who already live here and do some street work!
We didn't get to do what we really wanted which was play Poets in Rasputin Music Store or in Amoeba Music Store and hand out fliers. Those stores have a promotion department that we had to go through and the departments decided since there is no US distribution that they didn't really want to support that :( It's kind of a vicious circle...they don't want to help us promote because they can't sell their CD's, yet they can't sell their CD's because not enough people in the US know them so we have to promote...Anyway..,it wasn't a total loss...

We went to Amoeba anyway, just to hang fliers there and met a really cool employee. We chatted up the guy about Poets and he seemed very interested so I asked if we could leave a sample CD with him that maybe he could pass on to the managers, he then asked for 2 so I know he really was interested and not just trying to be nice! He said he liked our "vibe" and so he would definitely check them out. We then noticed they have an in store magazine that is free to customers that lists the employees recommendations and has little write ups about the bands and CD's they are recommending! SO I went back to cool employee guy and asked how a band could get a rec and a write up in the magazine(which is given out in their 3 locations, SF, Berkley and Hollywood). He said the employees just have to like it and they can put it in there. I asked if I could call him next week to see how he likes the CD and hopefully Poets can get a blurb in there. It's small but something! We will see! We then hung a few fliers in the store and left a bunch of smaller fliers for people to take. I guess we were lucky when the Rasputin in my neighborhood let us do 2 promotions there previously without going through the promo department.

We then went to the oldest bookstore in San Francisco and they allowed us to hang several fliers there. Why a book store you ask? This book store is definitely a San Francisco landmark and gets a TON of people going through it, so good exposure. And wow this bookstore was absolutely beautiful!

Ok then we went up and down one of the busiest streets for foot traffic putting up fliers.

Also, we had to drive A LOT and we had the poets magnet on our car :D

So while we didn't get to PLAY the music for anyone this time, I would say it was a pretty successful flier campaign :D

So if this sounds like fun and if you folks want Poets in the US, come check out the street team and give us a hand!! :)

Good news! The street team is starting to get more feedback from our online station campaign!

This response came today to one of our members from one station:

"Hey there! This is DJ Leo from the Italic Lion. I just wanted to let you know that I received your feedback and that you should prepare yourself because there is a ton of Poets of the Fall coming down the line for you to enjoy. I'm glad that you are a fan of such a great band! Thanks for listening and I hope you'll continue to get many hours of listening pleasure from the Italic Lion!"

And another one posted this:

"Redback Radio
Some new songs added to the current playlist, from Poets of the Fall, Sia, Doug Parkinson and a few others....."

And yet another station has significantly increased Poets airtime, some days to once an hour!

This is due to all the feedback people have been giving these stations! We are requesting, watching, waiting and responding when they play :) Pretty simple really.

We are also working on fm broadcast stations but those are harder :)

If anyone in the US would like to help us with these kinds of things, come check out the team! We could always use more help!

Hey guys! We are having some good success with our online radio station campaign! Poets is at #1 AND #2 this week on Radio Creme Brulee with The Distance(again!) and Signs of Life! This is the easiest of our campaigns and anyone can join in! Just listen to the stations and give your thumbs up when they play Poets!! Simple as that! The stations are listed on our team facebook page for anyone who wants to join in!
Look at this:

Image

Many of the stations have responded to our feedback and have added many more poets songs and air play time! Some now play them at least once an hour! And we are now hearing songs on these stations and that hadn't been played yet! We heard Delicious, Morning Tide and the LIVE version of CoR last night and Sleep today and last night. I have requested CiL and am waiting to see if they play that as well.

Any folks here in the US that would like to come help us out, we want you! check us out here

It's me again! :D

Lots of cool things going on with the US street team! Last night we had a MASSIVE online radio station search for stations NOT currently playing Poets and we sent out messages to these stations suggesting and requesting their music. This was just late last night and I wake this morning and my inbox is full of replies, all of them positive!
Several of these stations even began playing Poets today already!

Some examples of their feedback:

From one: “U got it we will add Poets of the fall to our playlist. Any particular songs?”

From Another: “We don't have anything by them at the moment, but I'll definitely check out their music. ~Melody”
I sent her a couple of songs and she added them into rotation. She tweeted this morning about it, Poets even retweeted it. And just this very minute I received another email from her saying: “Thanks for sending the MP3's! :) Really great songs! I got them added to our playlist today, and they've already been requested several times! :) YES! Also, it looks like this station gets a LOT of traffic if their twitter feed is any indication!
See the tweet? Image

Another: Hi, Thanks for contacting Permanence Radio on the Live 365 network. We will most definitely do our best to get Poets Of The Fall on our playlist in the very near future.” (sounds promising and we will be watching this station)

And here: “I will check them out today - thank you for the tip”
And then he obviously did check because tonight I got this: “We are going to add Show Me This Life and Morning Tide tomorrow. Will air between 7pm and midnight CDT for the first time.” SCORE!

And yet again from another: “Hey, thanks for the tip. I managed to find "Sleep" from a few years ago. Will be looking at their latest release later today. "Sleep" should come up before the "Breakfast Blend" show ends at 10am US Eastern.” One of my favs too!!

And here: “I can put them in rotation but I'd like to know when is it convenient for most of their fans to listen? My impression some fans might be in Europe?
Either way it's exciting meeting new people and learning about new music.
Best Regards”

And he has since played The Happy Song at least twice that we heard and also promoted it on their facebook wall, see?? Image

We did another mass search and request again this night and so I would expect some more feedback in the morning.
All of these online stations we are watching have the feedback button which makes it really easy to give good feedback!

With all of these stations starting to play Poets, we sure could use more eyes to help monitor and give feedback. The more feedback they get, the more airtime Poets gets.
If you’re from the US and would like to help Poets get to the states, why not check out the street team and maybe give us a hand!

We are also working on trying to get Poets on some FM broadcast stations, although this campaign is a bit slower going and successes are hard to come by, but we will keep trying!

US Poets fans, come give us a hand!<<<click that to give us a hand :)

Edited to add:

The one that said this: “Hi, Thanks for contacting Permanence Radio on the Live 365 network. We will most definitely do our best to get Poets Of The Fall on our playlist in the very near future.” ...

I just perchance went over there right now and they were playing The Lie Eternal...only one day later :)

Hey guys! An update on how things are going here on the street team!

We mailed A copy of ToT and Alchemy to our friendly Amoeba guy for them to listen to and hopefully put in their in house publication. I thought real CD's would be better than just a few sample songs and I had spares of each! He was very excited to get them! I also sent him Poets contact info because he said they were possibly interested in selling Poets CDs in their stores. All of that is now in Amoeba's hands and we can only wait and see, tho I may give him another call to see how he liked the CD's since he said I could call anytime:)

Our FM broadcast station campaign is proving to be tough but we are forging ahead! Most don't accept mp3s in their emails so now it's all dependent upon the hard copy sample we send them and a follow up email or two. If even just a few decide to listen and play, that will be great! It only takes one and the ball may get rolling if it's the right one! So we continue on with that!

Our online station campaign on the other hand is going really strong!! We have had two mass emailings to stations and have had great responses!! Many of them are already playing Poets and they are getting great feedback, and not just from the street team members who are watching and listening and responding to them, but from people who were already listeners and had never heard Poets before :D Even the DJs themselves are finding they love the band!! One went out and bought every album and plays so much of them! One has thanked us at least twice for introducing them to this music!

Chestnut Radio put this on their FB wall: POTF "Lifts" chestnutradio.com! :D

Emerald Sea Radio put this on the FB wall: AND check out some brand new tracks from Poets Of the Fall, thanks to suggestions from our very cool listeners (who know a thing or two about great music).

And after only 1 week of play Poets wins #2 for listeners fav song from WISE Radio's playlist for The Distance AND #10 in most requested artist of the week! And a lot of people tweeted after that how much they loved the song!

Plus lots more emails from stations responding to our requests for them to check out Poets saying they will surely check them out. Those are on our watch list. :)

As you can see, we are still going strong with no intentions of slowing down!! Any US fans who would like to help us out, just click right here>>>>Check us out!!

And yet again, Poets rocks Radio Creme Brulee with spots 1 and 2 in their weekly top 20!! It's just reversed from last time :)
