Yeah, but I think it would go more with the rest of the song with hall... :D

Hmm, fray could also be it, Lisa... I'll have to listen again :)

That's exactly what I was thinking! :)

I think it's hole. My bro agrees, too.

OK, I listened again and I do think it is hole indeed. This morning I believd the song was called "One more dead rat in the hall", then realized it isn't

"hall" rhymes with "all" the first two verses, but "hole" with "role" in the thirdso that is no indication either.

Didn't get anywhere with the rest of the lyrics.

I don't know if I'm simplifying it too much, but for my ears, "hole" and "hall" sounds almost exactly the same way...

As from frame or fray it could be both soundwise. However, frame makes more sense to me as I don't even have an idea what "pain under your fray" could mean. Yet I could be completely wrong
Any native speakers around to mexplain what the phrase could mean?

looking at the rhymes was exactly my first approach to the matter XD But soon I realised I couldn't get information from there.

I don't know, because I'm used to think it's "hall"... but the dead rat could be either in a hole or in a hall :?

for the frame vs fray:
"fray" means something like fight. So it might be something like "I won't laugh when I see you break and decay, I won't enjoy seeing you in pain for the fight you're in"

just guessing :?

Hall and hole are different from each other. Hall is like.. You extend the a there, and you go haaaall and you keep it that way. But with hole, you go like houle, roll the letter there, there is that short "u" sound in the middle.. I don't know if you understand what I mean.

Of course I know it's not exactly the same, but almost exactly... so, hole makes just as much of a perfect rhyme as hall.

And I can also add "whole". And "haul". :P

Hahaha  I know they sound so much alike, but not that much that you can't tell apart. And I'm pretty sure he says "hole" there. *persistent* :P

in theory I know the difference (and I typed the two words in the "speech synthesiser" of Windows to hear it XD), but yet I can tell which it is for sure.

I have a suggestion: comparison
since we know "all" has the same sound you'd have in "hall", and "role" the one in "hole"... in which of the two rhymes is the sound exactly the same?

I'm in love with this demos... what a band!!! It could sound like blasphemy but in my opinion they are as good as POTF. Marko's voice is perfect (it always is actually)

Can I ask any information? I looked for other threads about playground but didn't find one. In the first page of this topic, the reason of their split seems like a forbidden issue. And i didn't understand if Ollie was in the band too (i read somewhere that marko and ollie were in a band together before POTF)

As far as I know Marko and Olli were in a band together, but not in Playground.
I don't have any other information though, sorry.

Thanks... this brings more questions in my mind: the guitarist is not olly but he is good, so who is he? and where are the other band members? why didn't they publish an album? We only have demos, so i guess they never played live...

Why that guitarist can't be Marko himself? :)

why? :? Probably they used to play live shows, and have never released an album, but only recorded a demo. This is what happens to hundreds of bands

The link to that site is in this thread already, but thanks for bringing it to the front again. LastDropFalls made this site for us way back when we all tried figuring out the lyrics.

Favorite songs? Different Light, Yore, Whisper (in precisely that order)

And since, the lyrics that we figured out have spread all around the internet with no credit to us. Thanks, ungrateful *censored*.

I'll use the chance now that the topic was brought up, didn't want to dig it up by myself just for this.

Haven't been here around when you were figuring out the lyrics and I do appreciate the work, but I hear a little thing differently and I was wondering if somebody can back me up or correct me:

In "Far too far" I hear "our dreams cannot be true made about of blue" instead of "our peace cannot be through made about of glue" as it is at the lyrics blog :? That "glue" bugs me, especially as "Far too far" is my second most favourite Playground song (Under currents is the best for me :) ).

We tried our best and got this far, these are the lyrics we all agreed on. We don't claim they're the correct lyrics, but you have to admit, it's better than nothing. :)

Also, if someone is willing to invest the time and effort, feel free to revisit the lyrics, make your corrections and post them in the thread. I'll upload them to the blog and respective credit will be given.

Of course it is better than nothing, you did a great job, I didn't mean to say it's a mistake or something :) And I had just this one thing with Far too Far, so it's not like I can contribute any further :|
