theres the money making machine again. its just, they look and wait if a series works, and if so and they have enough watchers, they just try to make as much money with it by making season after season after season.

yeah me too. we just have to search a bit harder for good movies. but those money making movies are kinda fun to watch too. for example i just watched final destination 3. its supposed to be a dark horror movie kidna thing, but it made me laugh all the time, its just so stereotypical and so damn american. was damn funny ;)

Here are my fav movies : (not in any specific order of fav)

1. La Belle et la bête - This movie was made in 1946 and is amazing.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038348/

2. A Clockwork Orange - One of the best films of all times.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066921/

3. Caligula - another great Malcolm McDowell film!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080491/

4. Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma - This movie was banned in so many countries. The movie was based on the book "120 Days of Sodom" by the Marquis De'Sade. Beware! It's a very extreme movie!!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073650/

5. Gladiator - I love historical films, especially about Rome. :)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0172495/

6. Fall of the Roman Empire - Another film about Rome :)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058085/

7. El Laberinto del fauno - This movie is amazing also. :) A must see! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457430/

8. El Orfanato - as with El Labrinto del fauno, a great spanish film. :)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0464141/

9. Logan's Run - Great movie for its time.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074812/

10. The Count of Monte Cristo - Great revenge movie. :)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245844/

11. Equilibrium - Great movie. Better than the Matrix and you get the joy of seeing the handsome actor Christian Bale kick some ass!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238380/

I didn't really like The Orphanage myself. Pan's Labyrinth was fabulous, but with Orphanage I didn't like the pacing (can't remember what was wrong with it anymore, too fast in the beginning or something like that lol), and in the end it was that solid. But it had a lot of potential, I really like the plot and the whole idea.

Pan's Labyrinth was one of those movies where I expected more than I received. I heard that it is brilliant and had too high expectations. I liked it, but it left me a little diappointed. I think I'll give it another try some time :)

The Count of Monte Christo. I loved the old Tv movie version when I was younger. imdbHave not seen it in years though. :D

Most people thought Pan's Labyrinth was about a fairytale when it was actually about the war.

The underlying meaning was the story not what was exposed on the outside.. simliar with "The Orphanage".

They are still 2 movies I can watch over and over and enjoy it the same as the first time.

Where The Heart Is- the book was wonderful, and I just adore the movie. It's just a good story to me.

Welcome to The Dollhouse- Unfortunately I can relate to the main character in the not fitting in in school and with peers, etc. I just love this movie.

Twister- I can't explain it, I just love it!

Friday the 13th Series- Yeah they are bad, cheesy, horror movies, but they are great. lol

Disney's Sleeping Beauty, Lion King, Toy Story, Monsters Inc .. I don't care how old I am I just love them.

Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil- a story about my favorite city in America, Savannah. If you haven't seen or read the book, I suggest it.. It's just wonderful and based on a true story. Interesting mystery/crime stuff.

And I am sure I will think of more.. And will have to come back.

I finally saw 1408 and all I can say is wow. It did scare the living daylights out of me, but it was well worth it. THe suspense was much worse than what actually happened. Always the sense of foreboding and the feeling "it is not over yet". The ending is brilliant. Loved it!

oh that's cool, but I think you just spoiled the ending for anyone who has not seen it yet. I saw the john cusck ending - does that mean I have to hunt down the other version?

where they actually both realeased to the cinema? Interesting that the DVD version only has one end then. So does the S.L. Jackson character do the thing at the hotel or does he meet Mike Enslin's wife?

nope samuel l. jackson is doing it somewhere else. and yes he meets his wife at that "happening". the samuel l. jackson version is the non-cinema version. they only showed the cusack version in the cinema

So one of those alternate ending things. I yet have to see one of those where I like the alternate better than the one that was screened. I#ve seen a few alternate endings (of movies and maily TV series) and I have always liked the "original" better. Well, if I plan to watch it again, I'll look for the other one. But not soon, my poor heart needs a rest now ;)

I googled it and Wikipedia told me that the Samual l. Jackson ending is the original as it is the ending of the director's cut. Oh well.

The movie is still with me. Did I mention how much I loved the filming and the acting? The way the camara changed perspective was great and John Cusack did one hell of a job - I could literally feel how terrified his character was.

A few selected favorites (SPOILERS, don't read if you are planning to still watch the movie):

The whole bit when Mike looks at the fire escape plan and sees "You are here", then tries to get out of the room over the windowsill just to find out there are no windows to the other rooms. When he's back in the room, the window is suddnly blocked and on the fire escape plan only his room is left and everything around it is black.

The part when he is back in LA and goes to the post office and the moment when he realized he is still in that room while people tear down he walls of the "post office" and the room shows again.

The moment when the countdown on the alarm clock is up and everything returns to normal for a moment, then the countdown starts again and you just know it's not over.

I knew something was wrong when the second mentioned scene happened, I knew that freedom was far out of the way.

My favorite part by far had to be when the little girl came back and died in his arms, it was so cruelly devastating to him, and I loved the display of emotion

:P, I was actually hoping for it, happy endings bore me. Also its seemed to cut and paste for Stephen King, and Stephen King is god to my writing world . 8)

I cheated. I checked the counter and knew there were 30 minutes to go so it could not possibly be the end. Just seemed too nice ;)

and Raven, that part was great too.

Edward Scissorhands: The complete absence of belonging into someplace no matter how harmless or nice the place would seem to be. Misleading visual signs that people take for granted. If you cannot change the entire world to your liking, and ofcourse you don't have to its not the purpose, but you can always draw the line and make a corner of it entirely your own. There aren't many movies or short-movies that really make me cry, but I have seen this I think 11 times and every single time I cry, just can't help it. And ofcourse the ever alternating answer to the question of where does the true evil of human soul lurk  makes it all even more interesting.
:D What I feed on are crazy comedies of the 70s, 80s and 90s like "Airplane!" "AirplaneII the sequel" that just try to explode your mind with constant layering of jokes. :P

Yep, Royal-Nightmare! For me it is the snow flakes falling that usually gets me, during the credits if nowhere else. There are relationships where you are just happy and content that you both know you two exist simultaniously in the Universe :? but that one I guess goes into the category of to love someone you have to let them go.

One movie I absolutely love is Haunted Castle. It's a 3 D movie I saw at the IMAX theater a couple years ago.

It's about a son who inherits his mother's castle. In going to the castle he discovers his mother made a deal with the devil to have the success in music that she had. And he then goes through hell and sees everyone else that sold their souls. It's just wonderful and introduced me to one of my favorite bands, Arid.
