From what I've seen so far... definitely Poets of the Fall. They're amazing. I appreciate them even more after I saw them live. Excellent performance and what awesome guys they are. I'd like to see them again, but I bet there will be another tour for the third album :)

Nothing beats PotF's energic and amazing performances...

The 69 eyes is great live, i mean they are true rockers. 8)

Sonata Arctica was also awesome, and not only because all the guys are so damn good looking... ^^ Their music is unbelievable.

And then there's also this local band, Machine Men, who i've only seen live once but the gig was awesome. But it was maybe also because of the audience.

at the rock am ring festival they made my best musical experience in this year

here in germany, we have a band called "die Ärzte" who are maybe the funniest live band ever
so even if i stopped listening to their music, i love to see them live

placebo are really great live too

Out of the bands I've seen.. Iron Maiden and Bloodhound Gang (They gave away free alcohol).

Poets were good too, even though I only saw half of their performance.

I haven't been to any live gigs for several reasons

1. Except POTF there's no band I like enough to visit a concert. There are dozens of artists who have one or two songs I like, but that's it.

2. You have to have a place in one of the front rows otherwise you won't see a thing.

3. Most concerts are simply too expensive

4. You can't make one step since everywhere you look are other people.

5. I'm afraid that chaos breaks out when the concert's over and people leave.

But I'm really amazed by the Poets' live gigs. They always seem to have such a great time performing, especially Mark. I love the way he interacts with the audience and jumps around. It's so refreshing to see that they enjoy touring so much although it's so stressful.

Well, I hope to some day get the chance to add PotF to this list.. But here's my list of favorite live bands:

Lithic (an unsigned band from Milwaukee, WI)
Godsmack
Dream Theater
and Metallica

All of those bands put on a helluva live show.

Less Than Jake were awesome to see live I think :) Some bands got this way with the audience which appeals to me, while others like, hit the stage, sing their songs, ending the concert with "thank you" and get off. Boring...

It's true. Maybe it's just me but i can't help thinking that kind of bands and artists as a bit buffed-up... like they were too special to have some fun with the audience.

I've seen the Beatsteaks live yesterday, and maan they're good!!! :D
And everybody was like moshpitting and stagediving, it was so great. Really the atmosphere was great, and it just sounded very good, 100 times better than on the cd.

I'll have to go with Stone Sour.

Corey is a hottie! That energy, contact with the audience and his amazing charisma. My knees get weak just thinking about it.

Ooooh....is it hot in here?

Iron Maiden, Scorpions & Aerosmith...

These three of my fav. bands have done gigs in India. Really they were so energetic.

I also loved Linkin Park. They haven't come to India yet..but as a member of LP Underground fan club, I got chance to attain their LA concert in 2004.

I love LP bcoz they have two singers on front. The way they perform live with combination of vocals & rap...its awesome...combining guitars & scratching of Mr. Hahn.

Linkin Park is one the greatest modern rock bands. Do watch them live at least once in a life...

I saw Coheed and Cambria not long time ago live at Holland, they were okay. Though Tori Amos last summer at Provinssirock was awesome. I liked Poets of the Fall at Provinssirock few years ago.

All of them are great, just different styles. Hard to decide.

Evanescence first. There's no such thing as Amy's energy, it's so contagious. And the lights and effects, and her voice over it all... nothing like Evanescence.
And of course - Poets Of The Fall. Do I have to say why??? ;]
