90% of the music I like is instrumental, so I'd have a hard time here. :D

At the minute, I'm on Scotland's Shame by Mogwai..
Soon I will be listening to Electric Tears by Buckethead - One of the most beautiful albums ever made, in my opinion.

Art by Serj Tankian

Art is the way to the heart.
The hearts of man can and will change.
That change changes the world.
We can bomb you with love and you cannot resist.
We can kill you with compassion if you don't assist.
We can assassinate you ego with the knowledge and awareness
Of oneness, allness, onlyness,
Opening darkness into its vibratory reality,
The super string theory
And its resultant simplification of purity.
Explode or implode,
External is eternally internal,
And internal creates the external in eternity.
Planets arise from chaos
Into an experimentation of order,
Then are lost again to another stepping pod
In our solar system.
The universe is trying to create eternal energy,
The flesh as a part in the assembly
Of the investiture of order, balance,
Peace.

------
Believe me, it's a very complicated mood to be in.

Back Seat Driver

Right ahead is my desire
Out of reach but still in view
I know what's down that road
And I know it doesn't bode
Well for anyone except for me

Wanting is a funny master
In reach but never in view
You think you can do good
But you wonder if you should
The damage you could do in it's name

Now is this song just the boss shouting
Or is the voice in my head just telling me so
It may sound like I've gone insane
But that's the nature of his game

He's the hero for the hopeful
and the guardian of the safe
The bane of unbeneficial
and the bully of the bleak

He keeps hostage your victories
and throws doubters out the door
Is this the man you really want
to own the top floor?

Let me put this another way
Riddicule it if you like
See, he's the one telling you to doubt me
Doesn't want to lose his anonymity
But once the spell is broken you will see

At war with masochism
It's the only thing he fears
Postponed by wanting to not want
The more you try the more you fail
My brother in this jail, can you break free?

He's the hero for the hopeful
and the guardian of the safe
The bane of unbeneficial
and the bully of the bleak

He keeps hostage your victories
and throws doubters out the door
Is this the man you really want
to own the top floor?

He's the hero for the hopeful
and the guardian of the safe
The bane of unbeneficial
and the bully of the bleak

He loves control and hates to wait
He's the things that you will not debate
In his you-mobile thinks he's all it
but he'll drown if no-one gives a shit

(Sorry I'm hopeless at songwriting)

We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time

And yet I fight
And yet I fight this battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home

My gift of self is raped
My privacy is raked

And yet I find
And yet I find repeating in my head:
If I can't be my own,
I'd feel better dead.

Chorus of Amaranth - Nightwish

Caress the one, the Never-Fading rain in your heart
The tears of snow-white sorrow
Caress the one, the hiding amaranth
In a land of the daybreak

"Hero" by Skillet

I'm just a step away
I'm just a breath away
Losin' my faith today
(Fallin' off the edge today)

I am just a man
Not superhuman
(I'm not superhuman)
Someone save me from the hate

It's just another war
Just another family torn
(Falling from my faith today)
Just a step from the edge
Just another day in the world we live

[Chorus:]
I need a hero to save me now
I need a hero (save me now)
I need a hero to save my life
A hero'll save me (just in time)

I've gotta fight today
To live another day
Speakin' my mind today
(My voice will be heard today)

I've gotta make a stand
But I am just a man
(I'm not superhuman)
My voice will be heard today

It's just another war
Just another family torn
(My voice will be heard today)
It's just another kill
The countdown begins to destroy ourselves

[Chorus]

I need a hero to save my life
I need a hero just in time
Save me just in time
Save me just in time

Who's gonna fight for what's right
Who's gonna help us survive
We're in the fight of our lives
(And we're not ready to die)

Who's gonna fight for the weak
Who's gonna make 'em believe
I've got a hero (I've got a hero)
Livin' in me

I'm gonna fight for what's right
Today I'm speaking my mind
And if it kills me tonight
(I will be ready to die)

A hero's not afraid to give his life
A hero's gonna save me just in time

[Chorus]

I need a hero
Who's gonna fight for what's right
Who's gonna help us survive

I need a hero
Who's gonna fight for the weak
Who's gonna make 'em believe
I need a hero
I need a hero

A hero's gonna save me just in time

The Angel

I Dreamt a Dream! what can it mean?
And that I was a maiden Queen
Guarded by an Angel mild:
Witless woe was ne'er beguil'd!

And I wept both night and day,
And he wip'd my tears away,
And I wept both day and night
And hid from him my heart's delight.

So he took his wings and fled;
Then the morn blush'd rosy red;
I dried my tears, and arm'd my fears
With ten thousand shields and spears.

Soon my Angel came again:
I was arm'd, he came in vain;
For the time of youth was fled,
And grey hairs were on my head.

Was thinking about The Beatles today so:

The Fool on The Hill (John Lennon, Paul McCartney)

Day after day
alone on a hill
the man with the foolish grin
is keeping perfectly still
but nobody wants to know him
they can see that he's just a fool
and he never gives an answer

But the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
and the eyes in his head
see the world spinning round

Well on the way
head in a cloud
the man of a thousand voices
talking perfectly loud

But nobody ever hears him
or the sounds he appears to make
and he never seems to notice

But the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
and the eyes in his head
see the world spinning round

And nobody seems to like him
they can tell what he wants to do
and he never shows his feelings

But the fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
and the eyes in his head
see the world spinning round

He never listens to them
he knows that they're the fools
they don't like him

The fool on the hill
sees the sun going down
and the eyes in his head
see the world spinning round

Ohhh

Gli amori io non li conosco bene, però ne ho visti tanti
tutti orribili alla fine, ma all'inizio entusiasmanti.
Le passioni le conosco bene, che ancora porto i segni,
per l'abitudine sciocca che ho di credere ai sogni.
(from "Samantha" by Daniele Silvestri)

translation:
Loves, I don't know them well, but I have seen many:
all horrible at the end, but exciting in the beginning.
Passions, I know them well, and I still bear the scars
for my silly habit of believing in dreams.

I don't like the song, but I love this verse.

Shallow (Poets of the Fall)

More in my face
Than is my taste
I grow so weary I'll surrender

To what they say
Let them lead the way
Till' I can no longer remember

My darling dreams
Prewritten scenes
Whatever felt my own

So to save face
I'll take my place
Where I may safely feel alone

Glad the waters are so shallow
When the river runs so cold

I'm quick to wait
Too slow to take
They call me gracious for my patience

And I feel proud
Under that shroud
And all the while it's all evasion

Some humor here
To fend off fear
And I'm a little more lost, oh dear

So to save face
I'll hold my place
So I may safely feel alone...

Ashses by Steven Wilson

I will stay in my own world
Under the covers
I will feel safe inside

A kiss that will burn me
And cure me of dreaming
I was always returning

And my ashes find a way beyond the fog
And return to save the child that I forgot

And my ashes fade among the things unseen
And a dream plays in reverse on piano keys

More and more I seem to find I have more things in common with Steven Wilson, I mean as far as feelings.

Can You Hear Me ->

Thirsting for unity, realised harmony,
No need to hide away your life, unique, yet so alike

Can you hear me, I know I'm just a whisper

Florence and The Machine - Dog Days Are Over

Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with her drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run

Run fast for your mother, fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive

(...)

And i never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had and what was left after that too
Happiness hit her like a bullet in the head
Struck from a great height by someone who should know better than that

(...)

Run fast for your mother, fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your loving, your loving behind
You cant carry it with you if you want to survive

The Lie Eternal

You're my sweet trial
All my vestiges of hope pin wishes upon this
To prove I can be right for you and me
This whole damn controversy will shift its course
For better or for worse
In your embrace, all illusions broken in your embrace

Carry moonbeams home in a jar?

Or would you rather be a fish?

Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me
I am small
And needy
Warm me up
And breathe me

"Olé" by PJ

Oh, what you say, what you say, what you gonna say when your life ends?
What you gonna say? Olé!
Ah, what you say, what you say, what can you say of importance?
What you gonna say but “Olé!”?
Ah, what you say, what you say when there’s too much you can’t breathe in?
What you gonna say but “Olé!”?

I ain’t got words for what goes on
I ain’t got words for all that’s wrong
What do you say? Meditate
Meditate, Olé!

What you say when they give the guy the go-ahead?
What you gonna say? Olé!
What you say, what you say when your spitting up on your bed?
What you gonna say? Olé!
What you say, what you say when you’ve had enough of knuckleheads
What you gonna say? Olé!
What you say, now, what you say when you’ve seen enough bloodshed?
What you gonna say? Stop!

I still can’t help but wonder why
I’m feeling laughed at by the sky
What do you say, meditate?
Meditate, Olé!

Always locking the doors
When the night falls

Negrita - Ho Imparato A Sognare (I've learned to dream)

(attempts at translation of the last parts - not too easy: their lyrics often don't follow usual rules, it feels just like speaking from the guts)
I learnt to dream...
when you start to see that every dream takes you a little further.
Riding kites, beyond walls and limitations,
I learnt to dream from there.
When all the excuses to play are fine
when all life is a beautiful song...
there were some who were unable to dream
and some who were already dreaming.

Among a knock I get and a knock I give
Among a friend I lose and a friend I'll have
And if I fall once, once I'll fall
And from there, from the ground, I'll rise again...
there is the fact that now that I've learned to dream, I will not stop.

And.. I'm going to see them live on Saturday! ^^

I can see you through a maze
Of the words we spoke in vain

You know this will go out of hand
If we don't understand
This confusion of tongue
Feels so wrong

Yes I understand that every life must end, aw huh
As we sit alone, I know someday we must go, aw huh
I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love
Some folks just have one, Others, they got none, aw huh
Stay with me, let's just breathe.

tomorrow 5 years ago my mother died, my father died 19 years ago, in christmas time. I really should be old enough not to care about it, but I don´t like spending the christmas time on my own.

I don't even know if I have friends that would share Christmas with me, but every friend has a family to share with. Maybe I could go to my brother's family, but it's difficult because I have to work.
But I should not complain, I'm not religious at all, so Christmas isn't really important. I can see my brother on another weekend!

They never tell you truth is subjective
They only tell you not to lie
They never tell you there's strength in vulnerability
They only tell you not to cry
But I've been living underground
Sleeping on the way
And finding something else to say

Paradise by Coldplay
"When she was just a girl she expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
so she ran away in her sleep and dreamed of Para-para-paradise
Every time she closed her eyes...
When she was just a girl she expected the world
But it flew away from her reach and the bullets catch in her teeth
Life goes on, it gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear a waterfall in the night the stormy night she'll close her eyes
In the night the stormy night away she'd fly
and dreams of Para-para-paradise...
And so lying underneath those stormy skies she'd say,
'oh, I know the sun must set to rise'
This could be Para-para-paradise..."

Well a bit more than a 'right now' song, it's sorta like a life theme song of sorts...

This is why these lyrics mean a lot to me as well. I lost both my parents in 1997 and these lyrics always bring them to mind. :') I'm sorry for your loss Regina...:(
