Well I don't know if such a topic exists already, at least I couldn't find it, so that's why this topic is here now.
Since I really love languages I'd like to know which languages you all speak, and which you'd like to speak. Oh and tell as well where you are from!

So for me:
I'm from the Netherlands

I speak:

Dutch Native language
German Yeah this starts really to be my second language as much as I speak it..only my pronunciation could be better may be..and my vocabulary could be extended.
English My writing is good enough I guess, but my pronunciation...I've got a terrible dutch accent.
Spanish I've had that 3 years on school, and I'm pretty good at it I think..though I really should know more words.
French I used to be pretty good at it, but I've lost many of what I knew..and as well it's confusing because I know Spanish as well.
Finnish I started learning that by myself, just because I loved to learn it..Well I can only write about many things, but even then I make many mistakes, and understanding spoken finnish is so difficult. Besides I've no single idea how I speak finnish, because I guess I never really spoke it xD
Greek I've had ancient-greek on school, and I know a bit of new Greek too..I would call that "Holiday-Greek" though :D
Latin I've had it on school for five years...but can you speak that? :?

I'd love to speak:

hmm i think I know enough langauges for now...But I'd just love to be better at all of those..especially German, I want to be a native speaker haha. And I'd love my Greek to be a little more than holiday greek, and I'd love to make my Finnish a lot better as well.

So..that was it, now it's your turn :P

Nice number of languages esmee, respect

I'm from Slovakia.
I speak slovak as my native language.
I also speak czech quite fluently.
I don't now if my english could be considered as fluent but I like english and I can arrange whatever I want without any problems  I learn english for 11 years.
My german..... well :D :D That's a laugh  I learn for seven years, but I can't say nothing.... it's just... it's not my sort of language. Example of my german - "Ich bin nicht verstehen. Mein deutsch schlecht sein." :P
I've been also learning russian for two years, but I quit. :? Didn't have much time and the teacher couldn't understand it :P

I only speak English. Languages are definately not my forte, but I'd love to be able to speak/read
Welsh - fluently, purely for the sake of patriotism
Italian - The only language I was half good at in school, and its romantic
Russian - Many great pieces of literature are written in this language which are yet to be translated

I try my best to speak:

German (can you blame me? :P)

I'd like to learn:

Finnish
French
Chinese

However, I will never find time, energy or motivation to learn any of those (well, maybe motivation :P)

Finnish -Native.
Swedish -Because we have to know it.
English -WAY better than Swedish :P

I have studied

Latin -I can understand it, somewhat use it too, but since I haven't studied it in 6 years I can't really speak it anymore. I can have huge arguments about the pronunciation though :P

Japanese -It's an interesting language.

Irish, or Irish Gaelic, whichever you prefer -just because it sounds very, very cool.

Wow, you all speak a lot of languages *impressed*

I speak:
- German: native
- English: fluent
I learned:
- Latin for 5 years, bt forgot everything
- Italian for half a semester, but my knowledge is rather shaky
- Swedish: one 1 week crash course, but forgot everything except for "jag talar litte Svenska" which of course should be "Jag talar inte Svenska" now ;) (translation: I speak little Swedish; I don't speak Swedish)

Would love to know:
- Italian
- French
- Danish
- Swedish
- Catalan
- Spanish
- Dutch
- Finnish
if I knew those languages I could speak to most of my friends in their mother tongue, but I am so lazy so I don#t think I'll ever get there...

German - mother tongue
French - second mother tongue, though not as perfectly mother tongueish as German
English - obviously

I'm learning:

Finnish - I have been studying it for two years at university now, but I still suck at it :|

I'd love to know:

Latin - I always found it interesting
Spanish - I took a course in it once but not only did it not teach me much, I also forgot everything soon after
Some scandinavian language - I find Danish to be the most strange one of them, thus the most interesting
Arabic - especially cause I think the alphabet is nice
Estonian - it's kind of cute

I'll order my languages by how well I think I can speak them

I speak fluently:

English - Obviously. I even start thinking in english lately...
German - My mother tongue. Now I'm not bad at it, but I'm starting to lose words now and then.

I speak a few words of:

French - Maybe I could even come up with a whole sentece or two. That's all that's left from 3 years of French in school.
Latin - Mainly proverbs
Finnish - I'm trying to learn
Spanish - Nothing to brag about, though. And I don't know if some of it isn't actually Portugese

I would love to speak:
Gaelic or Welsh - I imagine it might be quite a challenge, but the sound and the writing is just nice
Finnish

I'm from Italy, so I speak Italian as native language.
I can speak English.. not too fluently, but I can kinda keep some conversation
I've studied German for two years... 8 years ago. I liked it, but as you can imagine I don't remember. Too bad... :(
I had to study Latin in high school: I hated it.

I'd like to learn.. well. many languages. Mostly: Swedish (I'd tried to study it by myself.. but it's impossible to learn a language that way...), Finnish, Greek..

What intrigues me most of languages is learning the "structure": the grammatic, how you "build" sentences. How they work...
In this prespective I'd like to learn about many language, specially languages that are very "far" from mine, like Chinese, Japanese, Arabic..

I speak...

Hungarian as native language. I think it's a beautiful language, when I speak from my heart, I speak Hungarian.

I started learning English some ten years ago. I love it, and it's a language I feel I understand wholly, not really as a combination of grammar and vocabulary, but more like feeling the meanings of the words and expressions myself. Sometimes I can't really translate an English word to Hungarian, but I just know the meaning, and I see it in my mind... it's a wonderful feeling. Of course I still have to learn a lot, but I think I started to love languages with English.

I'm learning German since I've entered high school, so it's two years now, and my third school year is starting in September. It was a love at first sight, just like English was. German gives less freedom to the speaker than English, but that makes its beautiful order and logic. Deutsch finde ich eine wunderschöne Sprache. I also like how they start every noun with a capital letter: it just gives a real meaning to them.

Someday I would like to learn...

Russian. Speaking English and German, I have nice chances to make myself understood on the West. However, the East is something different. It's nice to have Russian with you when you're on the East, I think. I have already experienced that when I was in Ukraine, more specifically in the old Hungarian territory of Carpathian Ruthenia, which still has some ethnic Hungarian population. When crossing through a village, we stopped to talk to an Ukrainian villager, a kind old man, and the only way to communicate with him was my father's memories of Russian, which he had to learn in school. However, during the Soviet occupation, learning Russian was obligatory, but the teaching of it was not really up to par. I think it would be easier now, and I think I'll try it when I'll have the time.

Arabic is another language I want to learn. Mainly because I'm very interested in Islam, and they say that one can only understand the true meaning of the Quran in its natural state, as it was written, in Arabic. I also like it because it sounds nicely, I love songs called nasheed which are sung in Arabic. Some people say it's way too easy, even easier than English; others say it's almost impossible to learn. Well, maybe I'll give it a try someday...

German - mother tongue

English - my favourite subject in secondary school. It was one of my advanced courses and since I always got a B+ my Eglish must be quite good, I assume. :P

French - had to learn it for four years, but my French is terrible. It#s a very complex language which so many rules of grammar, pronounciation is quite difficult, as well as writing. Besides, I've already forgotten most of the vocabulary.

I learned Latin at high school but only reading and (little) writing...no real-time speaking.

I know a little French, and I'd like to improve it.

German is definitely not for me...
