Ok, guess we all have some questions burning in our minds...
I started this to be a place where we can ask questions and find answers.

So mine is...
Q: How to convince someone to do something?

I fear that would depend on what that something is? :?
Your going to convince someone to do what?
but really the answer maybe ask please or pay them something that they really, really, really, want. Or most need.
But that's a maybe. Sometimes things don't go as planed. :?

I dunno if anyone knows matlab around here..
it's a programme that is used to make calculations n stuff

but I've (re)written 2 programmes for that, they answer lots of questions!
if anyone wants them, just add em on msn or something :P

programme 1: magic 8-ball xD
programme 2: an edit of the matlab-programme why. if you type 'why' in matlab it will say something like 'the excessively bald and not smart hamster told me to' but I've edited it with names of me and my friends and some offensive-ish words. it's reaaally fun xD

Easy answer! :P And that would be:

IN YOUR DREAMS!

Question: How do I find a decent job, with good health benefits, that isn't boring, yet won't drive me insane 99% of the time?

:D :?

ANSWER: Street team, street team, street team ;) And hope for the best! They will come when they will gain from it. :)

My Ultimate Question (to go frolicking):
How do I make my living now I lost my job and am too late to apply for school? It's Christmas next week and I can't afford buying anything to save money :(

I've experience too that social life and school are hard to handle at the same time.. specially because one tends to prefer the first one

You know how you dig an invisable hole and then come back five weeks later and say i remember i dug it here and you fall in it. Then your trying to find away out of it.

Well I've dug myself a deep ass hole and it's dark and cold in it.

How the heck am I going to get out of my hole?
How do I make things right?

So it was two questions I have many. :(

Sometimes you need to dig down before you dig your way out. Or perhaps you need to tunnel sideways for a while before digging up. ;)

In the video for Lift, are the guys supposed to be at a parole hearing? If so, why are they being given a Rorschach test?

Read! That's the key! Read and talk to ordinary people! History books usually give me good ideas!

I don't know what "parole hearing" means...
anyway I think they're being tested to see if they're crazy, if they're dangerous. at the end of the video you see the people there decide they are "menace to society"

Lisa, I used babelfish to translate "parole hearing" from English to Italian, and it said "udienza di parola d'onore". Does that make sense?

I know inkblot tests are used to gauge personality - especially with psychotics who refuse to admit disturbed thought patterns (my first degree was in psychology).

It's just that a parole hearing would never be used as a platform for true psychological analysis - the shrink would have done his/her evaluation long before that, and the parole board would have the results on paper. No self-respecting psychologist or psychiatrist would perform any evaluation in front of hostile witnesses...at least not more than once in a career. And no one else would ever administer a Rorschach!

So, my question was really sarcastic rather than serious. I know the video is an artistic vision, but it bugs me! The same as when people confuse schizophrenia with multiple personality disorder!

But, you're such a sweetheart for answering my question! I think your avatar is the perfect image of you! Spero che tutti i vostri sogni vengano allineare! (babelfish again, please forgive any awful translation)

XO

I hadn't understood it wasn't a "real" question. :P
first because I didn't know the meaning of "parole hearing" (now I checked it on a real dictionary: online translations sound a bit funny), second I hadn't imagined you were referring to the rules of psychological analysis :D

thankyou for your kind words, have a nice day :)

Let's bump this topic back up. :P

So my question would be what should good job application include or any tips for it? I'm writing one and I feel like I'm forgetting something important. :?

Edit: I really want this job :)

One of the few things I can remember from last year, when we had to write (fake) job applications in school, was that we had to tell why we thought we would be the right person for the job, which abilities made us stand out from others (I hated that part).

We also had to include our previous jobs, maybe hobbies if they were relevant and of course your personal information (name, address, those kinds of things).

Also, I think I remember something about adding the contact information of two or three people who could tell something about your abilities and stuff, but I'm not quite sure...

And the tip my teacher used the most: make sure your letter and your résumé are both one full page and type something like 'attachment: résumé' at the bottom of your letter.

That's all I can remember... I hope it's useful and I hope you get the job ;)

Make one front page with nothing but a giant picture of yourself on it. Hate it if you will, but it's gonna draw the attention of any employer straight away :D
