Nope, you don't, I think. If you delete "mithology" from the Wikipedia link, you'll get the article about "Death". It seems it's the same word as in ancient Greek.

It is, yes, but in case you haven't noticed, I'm Greek! Hehe...:P So it's a bit embarrasing...

My contradiction was that the word "thanatos" would be spelled/written diffirently in ancient greek. Apparently, I was wrong

:D Okay, sorry. Yes, you're right, I didn't notice, I thought you just have a Greek-sounding nickname and that's all.

No problem, not like it's obligatory for Greek people to be perfect in ancient Greek...

I think the perfect death is by an electric shock.. it only takes a few milliamperes through your heart and you're dead :D

yeah, if the timing's right it can seriously mess up your heart rhythm, which results in death :P

in case you didn't know, your heart is controlled by small electric currents, so another current, even though it's pretty weak, is enough to distort your heart... correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm a wreck at explaining things

weird... but that's if it's through the heart; which is not the same as... er.. I don't know.... it's not like if you just touch an electric wire with fingers... or is it the same?
does this question make sense? :|

I'm not sure.. I understand your question, but I think an electric current follows a random path (or the one with the least resistance on it's way) so there's a chance of it NOT going trough your heart if you touch an electric wire with your fingers, but since the current follows random paths I think it's possibe if you hold on for a while the path follows lots of different paths while you're 'connected'....

I sound smart but I'm not sure if I make any sense xD

it can follow various paths like a river, but it's stronger where there is less resistence.

anyway I think electricity can be fatal also if it doesn't go to the heart.. or maybe it also depends on the potential

weird topic to discuss
but, well: looking at the title of the thread... :D

Simply, two letters:
CN

It's quick, painless and clean in a sufficent dose, which -among other things- depands on your bodily weigh, age, conditions, and the type of salts you take . (KCN is, for example more effective than NaCN)

I'd prefer drinking something that contains C2H5OH, but that's just me. On the other hand, I don't like drinking so much of it that it fits the topic.

another likeable death: Getting hit in the head by a piano falling from several floors above you :D
or how about being eaten alive by piranhas? :D
being electrocuted (electric chair, preferably) :D

So many nice deaths to choose from :)

Or my personal favourite: Be killed by a mysterious cone of black smoke! 8)

Well I don't want to sound like anyone's mom, but case anyone wants to die, there ARE better ways than C21H30O2

Fellow gamer :) "*Amaranthos*". I don't think that "Valve" is a good company for making some kinds of deaths. I think " id Software" is better. you know, for example in DoomIII, those guys(Zombies) with saw can turn you to pieces. or "The Hell Knight" :P and in QuakeIV, in one of the levels the Stroggs try to make you like them. they cut the poor M.Cane's foots. and in QuakeIII, you and your enemies smash each other. 8)

and in Gears of War we have these deaths too.

but in "Call of Cthulhu" you can't smash but the others do it to you.

if you know some games like these tell me.

Um.. Did you even watch the video? :? Mine was about funny deaths, not violent :P

Well you don't actually turn to pieces... And neither can you maim your opponents in any way...

Ooh yeah... Chainsaw add-on for teh win! :D

You're talking about violent deaths... Well i'm pretty sure Soldier of Fortune 2 and SoF: Payback can be pointed out like violent games... Grab a shotgun and turn the other guy into mince pie... Or grab a sniper rifle and crack some heads open...

Manhunt, God of War and Condemned: Criminal Origins... Nice :P

yeah. the enemies burn.

and about the deaths:
but aren't they funny? I think in games they're funny. but in reality they're....

and sorry again for my inaccuracy

Not so true... Well ok they're not funny but they're very "interesting"

That's why, when there's a car crash, everyone stops to watch, in hope that they see something "juicy"...

As long as it doesn't happen to someone you care about, you don't actually get bothered by it... :(

Then again that's not how every person feels about deaths.
