Yes, in fact there is, but 'football' is supposedly the internationally used word for 'soccer'. And soccer is just the way Americans say it.
But I find it weird that American football is actually called football when the ball barely touches their feet (except in kickoffs).

Because, as already mentioned shows to what limits can the human body go and because, in a way, it's a very beautiful and "flowing" sport. I wish I had the time to continue doing it... :(

Depends - although I'm not a lady it's just a fact that it doesn't attract all women by far. People are different.

And about bringing nations together.... unfortunately many sports do the opposite - people of one country don't like other country for some time.

And about the "coolest" sport - I think it would be something with spending the most time in some freezer or so :P

Now seriously - I love pool, snooker and bowling and consider them "cool" :)

If I jump out to Slovakia someday, I call you out for an 8-ball... :P

Maybe we could have a Carpathian PotF forum meeting or what... :D In Komárom/Komárno, or somewhere around...

Football > *

American Football would be watchable if there wouldn't be a break in every 2 (?) minutes.

You're right! Saying 'soccer' instead of 'football' should be a crime.

Fawkes,

I agree.. (and Im American :D). American Football is made up of 4 15 minute segments... with 15 minutes of Half-time... However with all the 'breaks'.. the game last 3 hrs sometimes.

However, American Football fans are very dedicated to their hometeams. Both Professional and College.

If "Ruby" is "Rugby", this is the coolest!
I've started playing it in November.
I'm Italian, the national sport is soccer.. but people are crazy about it, and with "crazy" I mean "insane"...
so I started to play the "beastly game played by gentlemen" :)

(Soccer is the american name, football is the european)

Heh.. Super Bowl took around 4 hours. That's tooooo long for a game that lasts 60 minutes. It was pretty good though.

Haven't watched College Football, but I like College Basketball more than NBA.

Well, I like many sports but about those I say football, because I play it myself and I like to watch it etc. And I think ice hockey is one of the coolest sports too.
