I was born in the middle of the winter on a very snowy evening. My Mom was a bit too busy to remember the weather, but my Dad reminds me of the snow on each of my birthdays, so I've heard the story 33 times.
Also, I daydream a lot. Pretty much everyone thought I'd lose the habit as I grew up. Not only did it stay, but to this day, I've written eight novels, thirty short stories and dozens of poems and song lyrics. Some of my written material is published.

Other (ir)relevant info:
Computer engineer, married, mother of two adorable monsters, tabletop roleplayer, occasional background singer, hat and costume lover (my avatar is a photo of one of my hats). I always thought that if I ever was in a band, our first video would consist of us dressing up as other bands before finding our own style, but hey, I'm 33, still not in a band, and now too busy trying to be a writer to consider jumping on that adventure as well.
Oh, and... I'm French. Nobody's perfect.

Sois la bienvenue! :) There's nothing wrong with being French :D At least not from my point of view, one of my close friends is half French, half German. If someone is a great person with a great personality and so on, nationality/gender/sexual identity/beliefs/etc don't matter to me :) OK, that doesn't mean that if you are a bad person I'll start generalizing people from a certain country based on that one's person (or two or three) bad behaviour, belief and so on. Alright, when did this become all about me? :P I'll stop now.

Back on topic: welcome all newbies!

I'm not ashamed of my nationality, I just have a weird tongue-in-cheek humour.
Thanks for your warm welcome!

Hi ya'll, I'm a newbie here :)
Joined into Poetland just resently, song Cradled in Love invited me in. I listened to it from the radio until I found out it had done it's magic tricks for me so that I had to run to a record shop to buy them all.
So today I am hooked. And happy about it :P

Hello everyone! I feel a little dumb and bad to post as a new member just now. I guess you could call me a new fan, I've been a fan of POTF only for about a year now. I've been creeping on the forum for a while now, but finally decided to make an account and introduce myself.
I'm Alexandra, I'm 17, I'm from Romania and I enjoy writing.
Here are some odd facts about me (the only ones I can think of right now):
I'm working in a bookstore for the summer. I'm planning on getting this as soon as possible. I have recently bought my tickets for the festival in which POTF are gonna play this August.
I don't know what else to say about myself. I could never write a legitimate ''About me'' And well, hello everybody! :D

Hey Alexandra, also known as forsakingthedawn, and welcome to our Forum. That was a really nice introduction you gave. I'm glad to read you'll be going to see POTF soon, when they finally come to Romania for the first time. Have a great time! And good luck with getting yourself that dragon ear-ornament (I think it's a little more than "just" an earring). Have a great summer altogether and if you want, stop by here at the forum now and then too!

Here, have a milkshake!
*serves a variety of them to everyone* :D

Thank you!! I really want to wear it at the concert. I don't know, it sort of hit me that I'm actually going to see them, I never thought they would eventually come here. And this concert is basically what my summer will be all about. I guess I'll just have lots of time for myself. What are you doing this summer? (If you don't mind my question. God, I'm so socially awkward, I'm sorry. :? )

Hey, you're not awkward at all, you're just lovely. :)
My summer plans tend to whirl around getting better (I had a surgery a bit over a week ago), doing and trying to get some extra work (translating), and getting back to my own full-time work from August onwards. I'm hoping to go for a POTF gig or two now that they're touring, once I'm feeling better. So for the most part my summer has been and is going to be a little different than any other year, but it's not too bad, as I'm recovering a little more every day.

If you like to chat with people, we have a chat here at forum. Right now it looks like there are quite a few people there, but a lot of times it's empty, unfortunately. But if you like the chat or don't, I'm sure you'll get to know some people here in no time at all. :)

Welcome dharma, nice to see you around here.

And welcome Alexandra. I love that ear dragon, I will look out for it in Sibiu. :)
I'm still waiting for summer to begin. We haven't had much of it here in Germany. Either way, my only plans are seeing a bunch of concerts. :)

*steals a milkshake on the way out*

I hope you get better soon! Do you usually get to see them often? I'm planning on moving to Finland in a few years, and seeing them a few times a year would be an advantage.

And I'm definitely going to visit the chat. :D

Thanks! I'm definitely going to wear it, then. Oh, how I wish the weather was cooler here. I'm literally boiling everyday. It has rained a little bit on Sunday and today, but the heat is sometimes unbearable. Also, damn, I wish I had money to go to more concerts this summer. Evanescence, GN'R and RHCP are coming here this summer, and I hope I'll somehow get in, but I'm not really getting my hopes up. :(

Welcome Alexandra, fellow writer! Though older, I'm a newer fan than you. :)
I've seen similar ear-dragons on eBay and I think they look great.

Short stories, novels, poetry, a bit of everything.
Mostly in French, though. :P

Hello!
I found this forum some time ago and yesterday I registered to meet other PotF-Fans!
I´m 37 years old and I come from Germany.
I ordered a ticket for Dortmund this morning and I´m very excited because that will be my first Poets-gig!
I discovered the band 3 or 4 years ago and since that day I´m in love with their music.

Hey, welcome N8eule! I'm glad you found us! I think the German thread is going to be a little more active now that the tour was announced.
I will be at Dortmund too (and Hamburg), can't guarantee to see you there if really a lot of people come, but I hope you'll have a great time. I think you will, POTF is just amazing live!

And cold sodas for everyone! Just take one or a few if you stop by. :P

I just thought I could introduce myself in english because here are so many people from so many countries active.
Yes, I think it will be great to see my favourite band for the first time!

Hey and welcome N8eule. Cool, someone else from Dortmund. :) Hope you enjoy your stay here. I already know you will enjoy the concert. ;) Maybe I'll see you there.

*grabs a soda*
