Finnish - native
Swedish - I know bits of it and can read a bit but don't speak or write well
English - better than Swedish, but only studying. Understanding isn't that hard but writing and speaking sucks (only the pronunciation suffices, IMHO).

I want to learn more English, and it may be possible - at least I've no lack of motivation, not any more. :)

My mother tongue is Danish, and English is my second language. But in September I'm going to learn Chinese, and have to Study China for 4 years. Then I would like to learn Arabic because I think it's a beautiful language :)

My native language is German, second is English, that I studied in school about 6 years. All the other English 'stuff' I figured out for myself by translating a lot of English articles into my own language with the help of dictionaries (books and online). But I'm still learning what is fun for me. By that I can help my children a lot with their English study in school.

a little bit Hebrew - took about 3 semester in writing, reading and speaking at an online-school, which is in Israel, was tought in English, so I had to think outside the box. It was quit difficult, but much fun. Unfortunately I havn't time to keep learning. Its so a beautiful language.

few words in Spanish, Russian (because of many Russian friends)

Well, I'm from India.
Here, states are like countries :P each state has its own language, and you need to learn that if you want to survive in that state :P

So, basically, I know:

English: The British were here, so our school system is based on English :D so we can speak pretty well :P

Telugu: Mother tongue 8) Speak at home all the time :P

Tulu: Father (?) tongue :P So, I speak two languages at home :P

Hindi: It's the national language, so we need to know it

Kannada: The regional language.

(Now you're beginning to see what I was talking about? :P )

Sanskrit: Learnt it in school, but no one really speaks it :P

I WANNA LEARN FINNISH! :x I've begun, but I need to get muchhhh better :P

Finnish (native)
English (quite well, I think..)
Swedish (I understand it better than I speak)
German (basics)

These are enough for me, I'm sure I couldn't learn more... I don't have so good head for languages. :P

I kinda wanted to learn Japanese, but I'm lazy.
English is a necessity though (especially for a Computer Science undergraduate like me), in fact I think I type more stuff in English than in my native language.

My native language is French.
I'm fluent enough in English to hold decent conversations, I can get around in Spanish as well, and I know a little Creole from Reunion Island (which isn't crucial in international relations, I'm aware of this).

After even just glancing at these posts, I feel a little bad that the only language I can currently speak is English. Still, I'd love to learn Japanese, and maybe after that I'd try to learn at least a few others......

They say you can't, since it's a dead language, but I think enough of us should learn it and start speaking it all the time. We could bring it back from the dead....... 8)

Finnish- as my native language.
English- even though I make some mistakes with grammar I think my English is fluent and understandable.
Swedish- quite badly, but I would survive with it in everyday situations.
German- just the basics.
French- also the basics.

I would like to speak flawless French.

Polish - native.
English - I was quite good at school, now my knowledge of grammar is rusty but I can communicate.

German - learned this one at school for 6 years and I could communicate pretty easily then, but now I've forgotten almost everything cause I have no need to use it and honestly speaking, I've never liked it. I can still understand some though.
Latin - can't really speak it since it's a dead language but I learned basics in high school and during medical studies.
Japanese - can't speak that one either, I just know some words from watching anime  And I know I'd never be able to learn kanji, so...

Croatian - I've wanted to learn that quite recently but then all of sudden I got to know Poets so now it's all about Finnish :P I'm learning, but I'm realistic - I'll be happy if I'm able to understand some and have a short conversation in 5 years from now

my mother tongue is german, I speak english (ok, not very good and with a strong german accent  ), a little bit of french (it was better formerly, I live very close to the border, I should be better, but I don´t use it so often), and I started learning dutch after dating a dutch guy. I can read in dutch (books etc), but I hardly speak it. Would like to improve it, also my french.

So, I'm Brazillian! Portuguese is my native language.

The languages I speak (more or less):
English: Not fluent! I'm still learning (with the life, not even ONE class!), but my sister is fluent, so she helps me much! And at least i'm writing this without Google Translate.
Spanish: I am forced to learn in school, it's a cool language, from Latin America, but it freaks me out!

Languages i would like to speak:
German: I think is such a complex and interesting language, and it's funny to listen me singing in german!
French: One of my dreams is learn french, such a romantic language, the way that the french people talk makes me sigh!
Welsh: Well, I like difficult things, so, Welsh seems to be a great challenge!
Finnish: Ok! I Admit, i want to learn finnish because of POTF! You can kill me now!, but no!

My native language is English.

I took classes in Spanish, German, and Japanese in high school and college, but I only remember a little bit of each.

Currently, I am attempting to learn Finnish. Yes, POTF is one reason why I want to learn. The other reason is that I recently learned that I'm part Finn on my biological mother's side (I'm adopted, btw), and, well...I'm curious to know more.
