If categorization works as it supposed to, we wouldn't had this conversation at first place. It's just simple metric...

Alright, like it or not, the next single is The Lie Eternal... Let's fall in to their "The Lie "Eternal".

Hell yeah! My favourite song from Temple of Thought as a single! I wonder how the radio mix will be changed :)
And the cover from the remote music's fanpage:

Oh, I totally love the cover, especially the spiders. :D But I'm not pleased with their decision to choose that song but it's alright.

I think The Lie Eternal is a great choice for the next single. Not only do I like the song, but it's a nice contrast to both Cradled in Love and Kamikaze Love.
The cover is great! :) Now I just hope I'll like the mix too...

In my opinion, song lost something from its 'dark' energy. But that's only snippet, maybe the other part will be different. And it's still good, even if the non-mixed track is a masterpiece that shouldn't be changed ;)

Wow :D
Now, this "less darker" version I not only like better than the album one, I actually enjoy it and quite a lot
Looking forward for the full song... :)

I read somewhere yesterday that TLE will be the next single, didn't expect to hear it that quickly :) Can't really tell yet if I like it, I loved German KL, and in this case the mix again has the elements I like, but I think I prefer the more "powerful" album version. And I'm so used to full lyrics that cutting them for shorter radio edit makes listening to this a bit strange  But I just hope the edit will do great in radios :D

Found it on YouTube, with the interview (thanks, guys! And Marko's voice, mhmmm...).

Nothing special, I miss a great drum beat from original song. Here drums are simple. Too simple. The whole song reminds me Diamonds For Tears. Great for radio station, but I strongly prefer non-mixed version.

Well, the mix sounds quite nice but for me the original version just sounds better. But I'm not a fan of mixes either so the mix could be brilliant and probably then I wouldn't like it. :D

Radio kills radio stars xD
The mixed sounds like they were in a church!!
I'm a little disapointed by single's choice.. If I want to share POTF with someone who doesn't know them, I will share Late Goodbye, Carnival of Rust, Looking up the Sun, War, Lift..... Because these songs are masterpieces and clips are wonderfulls , but I won't share craddle and lie eternal.. I think those songs are just "not bad", they can't pretend to be at the same level as War or Kamikaze Love for example.
But well.. I know "every song is different" I know I know, It's just my opinion, just talking. The album still amazing.

In my opinion both versions are great. The album one is stronger and the other one is softer. The mixed version is less noisy, more simple and Marko's voice sounds to me more emphasized, clearer... or somehow turned a bit from hot to sweet. :) Yes, I love them both.

Damn! Missed the song on radio... The Lie Eternal as new single: JUST COOL!
As I am really, deeply into the album's version, guess it'll be hard for me to love any other version, more than that one (unless you make a "crazy" version of the album's version... ). And that one minute from SoundCloud strengthens my guessing, for now... ANYWAY! I just love the cover art! Btw, if there's such a cover art, I suppose there'll be a single's physical version, right? Cos you just can't put so much into a cover art, for a "simple" digital version... Or can you? Naah! If it's already specified somewhere, I still gotta check it.
Now, those spiders... I know the Guys wanna kill me, seriously! Cos of all this symbolism... Curious, the spider is one of my animal-symbols, but with so many meanings! But, sure, referred to the song, I can easily see two distinct meanings - positive&negative (nth reference to the album's cover)... Oooh and I must confess all that makes the song more&more dangerous, like I'm burning-in-Paradise.
And if there's no symbolism, but the fact that it's a very old bottle found in an old cellar, so you can justify spiders' presence... and nothing more, well, that means I'm totally into the phrase on the bottle and Marko's last one, in the interview, too... :P

WARNING WARNING WARNING

cover linked a few posts above has the POTF logo in slightly wrong X-Y proportions (not circle anymore?), somebody warn the publisher before it goes to printers and too late!

There's nothing to worry about, the cover picture in the link doesn't have 100% correct proportions to it, that's all. :)

I simply can't like the single version of TLE, because one of my favorite lines is missing. :( Besides: In my opinion, the album version is perfect, I don't think it should have been messed with.
The mix sounds OK, better than KL, but I fear this is another one for the shelf. Of course I'll buy it anyway.

Funny...

loving the album more and more, today i would rate it this way:

1. Revolution
2. Temple
3. Carnival
4. Signs
5. Twilight

I discovered the band recently, so I bought all five albums and listened to them more or less in sequence, and after a few hearings, my rating was... the exact opposite of yours!

However, as I listened to each album again and again, they all grew on me, so as of today, I can't tell which one I like most.

I have to say that this version of The Lie Eternal does not really speak to me. I love so much the album version and for me, nothing can beat that arrangement. It's strong, has power and is full of emotions, which German version doesn't have. It's too much pop for me. The same with Kamikaze Love. But I can't say it's so bad, it's just not my cup of tea

Oh, I like the cover a lot 8) But spiders... :| :P

While I appreciate that these mixes of their songs will help them gain more popularity and radio play in Germany I have to say I don't really like their songs being tampered with. I agree with the user who said Marko's voice seems to be the focus (Which on it's own isn't a bad thing). However these mixes seem to take the soul out of the song. But then maybe that's because we appreciate all the complexities of Poets' songs so to have them simplified is unthinkable :P.

There you have a point. I really love the complexities of all songs. They show life and soul to me in this way.

But I will also buy this radio edit to support the guys. :)

Just a bit of statistics info, Temple of Thought has been on Finland's official Top 50 chart for 9 weeks now, ever since it was released. The current placement is #34. :)

Also Cradled in Love single has been on the official Download chart for 8 weeks altogether. Nice!

I have a "numerical" question ^^
I noticed Twilight Theater has the number POTF-14, Alchemy has the number POTF-17 (ok, I guess that War and CYHM, even if digital only, counted as #15 and #16)... but then Temple Of Thought has the number POTF-26  Did I miss something?

I think the question came up before, but it wasn't answered yet. I've been wondering about that too. Secret projects we don't know about? ;)

In fact at first I thought this had to have come up already somewhere, but I could find no answer ^^

Secret projects? That may be it ;)

Sorry to disappoint you, but answer to the riddle isn't quite as exciting as the "secret projects" y'all came up with. I asked Admin about this and he was kind enough to reply (thanks Admin!) that the "missing numbers" in between were used for some digital releases, such as CoR and Lift instrumentals, Balance Slays the Demon and others. Admin also explained that this whole "POTF-xx" number thing is mainly needed for digital releases, not so much for physical copies of albums and singles. So I'm sure there is bound to be "skips" in numbers in the future too, when it comes to physical products. :)

Have a fun "conspiracy theory" Tuesday everybody! :D
