Since I'm not wondering about anything any more I would not be surprised if after tweeting some 15 titles to read a tweet like "and five of the titles we tweeted to you were completely made up" :D

we'll see, but I have to say it sounds promising so far and I agree with DSoL regarding The Happy Song.

"Kamikaze love"... well, it's not Fool's Day today... but... I'm not sure it's a real title, either. Besides, it would be the second title with "love" in it... sounds weird to me!
(I think the guys are still in the mood of Valentine's day :P )

Anyways, the title of which we can be sure is Cradled in Love! :D

I don't know. If this was an actual song title, for some reason I'm thinking the song would sound like Miss Impossible. I feel like I'm wrong but that's my first impression vibe.

Well, guessing what track titles might be right or wrong... We're all in the Temple of Thought ^^

Really does this title sound as weird for you, guys, as it makes you suspect it's a made up one?? Well, not the same here... I find it so damned plausible! And it's just a great title! Got the same reaction to album title, "a revelation-no revelation", referring to the Poets... KAMIKAZE LOVE might be just a WILD song in its all! At least for me, a usual kamikaze lover, indeed!    ... There's nothing to laugh, actually... it's so hard. :|

@Benjamin, that's just a so very good statement, indeed!

And obviously, as it comes to the Guys, it might be all another story... unpredictable :P

EDIT: Aaah! Forgot about CiL video!
I don't know why, but something tells me it's going to reach the first place in my fav POTF videos charts... All that only by the location... I can see that cold castle, but still a fire burning in some room: that so warming light... The Opposites' Theory again... Don't know...

The Lie Eternal!

Ooooo.

They say it gets darker from here.

Hmmm...

While reading the tweet I imagined Marko talking in a very deep/scary voice saying "and it only gets darker from here"

It'll probably have nothing to do with the song, but I get a bit of a "goth" feeling to this (kinda Evanescence-like)

This whole thing intrigues me: weird to know titles to POTF song that you have never heard and have no idea how they may sound like

Am I the only one that finds this wrong:
CiL video was shot in a castle, Temple of Though sounds as much better candidate for castle shots...

Marko too gets darker on the cover. So maybe the first part of album will be more lightly, happy (with a little touch of grief), and the other songs will be more sad.

Why Marko is the first person of all this?

The Lie Eternal... it sounds perfectly compatible with my common mood... :|

Not The Happy Song then. The Lie Eternal instead. I get an image of a rather gloomy, melancholy slow song with this one. I'm probably going to be wrong again.

@Arvigeus, it's possible that Temple of Thought isn't going to be a single and there will be no video for it. Anyway, with only the track title as information, it's difficult to predict what the song will really be about and if an actual temple would represent it well visually. It may not be something literal at all, Marko is such a "candy man" when it comes to lyrics. :P
(I wanted to write "magic man" but this forum didn't let me. It kept changing it into "candy man" instead. Try it, you'll see. Just kidding.)

:?: I just have not understood what you mean :|

I said Marko just because.. you know: on stage it's him who talk, I was imagining him like introducing a song

You got it right, and you're also right. I just feel it's a little bit unfair just to imagine only Marko everytime. He's the frontman and it should be like this but... :?

I know: I myself find it annoying when people refer to POTF like there is only Marko.
Ok, he's the frontman - and one of the best singers and lyricists ever - but the band consists of other people too: it wouldn't be POTF if it weren't each of them.

But it's Marko the one doing the "theatrical talking": that's why, this time, I just had to mention him. Didn't mean that I assumed it was him who wrote tweet, or that the band is only him :)

^^ I can totally hear Marko say "it onl gets darker from here", but when I think about it, I can hear each of the others say it too.

And I agree razor, it is a bit unfair at times.

As for the songtitle, it makes me imagine all kind of music, but I'm sure whatever I say I'll be wrong. I'll just wait to be surprised. This tracklist is getting more interesting every day.

For me it was Captain and, for some odd reason, I just can't imagine Marko saying that! Although I've heard him talking in that deep and scary voice :|

Just want to show my thoughts and feelings about the whole.

First, I really enjoy not only the music but also to watch closely at every single of the boys (so to speak 8) ) during their performances, so I'd love to watch the offical clips as well as the live performances. I love to see their fun, their commitment to what they do on stage. Everyone is part of the whole and only together they can do this thing. My impression is that this very good can be seen on several pictures of their concerts, when they all put their hands on top of another before they go up at stage (OMG - hopefully you can understand what I mean  )

Furthermore every listening person has its own background an thats why everyone sees things different and so the songs of them and this I consider also to be good. But...

always I try to understand the feelings and perception of another person and it's Marko who puts his heart, his feelings, his kind of thoughts in the lyrics to make us understand something.? (just my opinion :? )

I think it's a good thing to put all pieces of the how-we-see-things-puzzle together and try to make one whole picture. :) It would be an enrichment.

Well said, Unity :)

This especially, is true for me. I always make it a point to watch all of them and also take pictures of all of them during a show. There is so much going on on stage that I would miss if I was not doing that. :)

As far as the lyrics go, I agree, but I also think the lyrics would be nowhere near as powerful as they are without the music to underline and support the message. When I close my eyes and listen to the music as well as the lyrics, I can feel the song, i.e I get an understanding of it with my heart and soul. This is not always something I can put into words and it may be a totally different meaning than someone else get from the same song (that's where people's different backgrounds come in), but it works, in my opinion, because the combination of lyrics and music is so strong, the whole song is always more than the sum of its parts. Am I making any sense at all?

I actually feel like I do miss most of what's going on with the guys on stage: I have to take turns looking at them. I wish I could watch all of them at the same time, the whole time. That's not possible though, how unfortunate.

And what comes to the listening experience... Even though Marko's lovely voice sometimes "steals the show" a little bit, along with his lyrics, it certainly isn't the only thing I listen to or pay attention to. Drums usually play a big role for me: I don't like hearing just a monotonous basic beat, something like that can totally ruin a song for me. I like it so much how versatile POTF is in this area. (More has the funkiest drums so far imo.) And some guitar solos, guitar riffs or piano bits seem to express more than I could ever put to words (/lyrics). I wouldn't even want it put to words, it's so beautiful in itself.

I think I've said this before but I enjoy the instrumentals a great deal cos it allows the music to come out better without dear Marko "stealing the show". I do love the originals too, but still. Instrumental version allows a different viewpoint to a song.

I'm not quite sure of the meaning of "Lie Eternal". Does it refer to "resting in peace forever" or "never telling the truth" :?

*Insert swear word* finally!! :P
It's so annoying when addressing the band people use only his name. Its a band...a group of guys making music together!! The songs we hear is not just the product of one guy's work... Everyone single one of them puts in so much into the songs we hear...feels unfair to credit it all to one guy, no matter how great he is...

Phew... Yeah, done with that... :P

The songs? I don't/can't guess when it comes to these guys. The song I think will be a total rock out song can end being a 'Sleep'.. Who knows? But me likey the names...
And again not guessing...but "things get darker" so The Lie Eternal will be a heavy one, right??
RIGHT??? :P

RIGHT??

I wonder if it could be a song about lying to ones own self. When you're lying to yourself about something because you want it so bad, you just believe it no matter what. Hmmm.....I just want to hear it....

That is true, Marko is not the only person in the band. Poets of the Fall is awesome not only because of him. There are songs by the band Marko was previously in, Playground. The songs are not as awesome as songs are by Poets of the Fall.

I wonder if they have fights because Marko gets to be on the album covers and music videos. :P

@razor: Where did you get the quote in your signature? I googled it but couldn't find it. It's a good one. :)

I won't say I miss most, but I know I still miss a lot, because it is impossible tow atch all of them all the time. Pitty. :D Then again, if that was possible I would not want to be in their shoes. ;)

There's a lot of truth in waht you say about the listening experience. I am a lyrics person myself, but sometimes it's good to just hear the music and the different instruments, a certain motif repeated, a great bass line, guitar riff, piano piece or drum beat. All these make the songs and without the music there'd still be great poetry, but it would not mean as much orr touch me as deeply as it does.

@theepicevilpotato: we already have an entire thread about Playground - if you want to discuss them in more detail, that's the place to go. :)

@redbossfan Nah I was just trying to point out that the band as a whole makes it awesome, not only Marko. I'll remove the link to the songs from the post. :P Sorry. Should search before posting. -makes mental note-
