So finally the Poets come once again to India :) . This time the rock capital... Suggest a set list of songs that you would like them to perform..I hope the band is listening

I would love 'Psychosis' and 'Dont Mess With Me' coming in for sure. Apart from Lift and maybe Roses as well. CoR, Illusion and dreams, locking up the sun and others are the usual suspects

What would you like to sing out loud on Sunday Evening?

Just to give you an idea, these are the Alchemy tour setlists so far.

As you can see they consisted mostly of the same songs, just some (the festival gigs) were shorter. The acoustic gig was a special one, so I'd say that does not really count as tour setlist.
I'm not saying that it's going to be the same setlist in India, but I assume it's a safe bet to expect songs from Alchemy and none that can't be found on there. Just my opinion of course, I can't speak for the Poets and maybe you are in for a surprise.

So you only get one gig every 4 years in India, but it's longer than any gig they have ever played elsewhere (or at least longer than any gig I have ever been to). Happy for everyone who was there than you got more than the regular festival set.
Now that explains the song selection at the acoustic gig - practice. ;)

Was it the bossa-nova version?

An amazing piece of 30Mins of POTF interview for India and bits and pieces of the show from India coming soon.... Stay tuned;)

VOTE OF THANKS:-
Thank you POTS once again for the wonderful gig. I would like to thank Juha Juoni for all the arrangements and cordinating with me and being patient in responding to every MSG, Mails and Calls. And getting the band togeather for the photoshoot at the backstage.

I would like to thank Marko and Olli for their precious time and being so graceful and down to earth in having the conversation. Your attitude towards people being 'Rock Stars' is much appreciated and infact a lesson to others who are'nt you guys yet. I had a lovely time to get to know you guys, and it is a life time experience for me. You guys will go places and keep rocking.

Thank you for the most amazing Oktober Fest that Bangalore has ever seen. Gets me goosebumps when i think of the time before you came on the stage. We had 15,000 + ppl screaming 'POETS POETS'!!!!!!!!! Cant ask for more what you have given to the world with your Poems and Music.

Thank you once again.

Keep Rocking,
Roy C Thomas

@Roy C Thomas, it's really great to hear you talking this way! :D
I never saw the Poets "live", but I'm used to steal every videos and photos and fans' comments I can (thanks mostly to my sweet sisters  ), so to have a bit of "that feeling". That's why I really thank you for sharing all that with us. I read something about the previous gig in India and heard the rumors of a great wish/desire for a new one, from you, Indian fans, on POTF Fb wall, mostly... That's why I was quite sure this gig would have been a huge success (the number of fans attending the gig doesn't surprise me, either, as you already were thousands in 2007...) and you and the other Indian fans are confirming me that. I'm sure there's any single Poets' fan not thinking the world's really missing... it's hard to find the right words when it comes to POTF... such pure "Music Stallions", I'd venture to say... don't know if you get what I mean... :| :P
Anyway, I'm just sooo happy for fans, for getting the proof of what Poets of the Fall are, once again, and for the Poets also, for getting such a huge demonstration that they are doing very, very well... once again.. again!
*Staying tuned* for news!

@ Roy C Thomas:

I was there. I heard the screams and I was at the left flank and got to see Marko's pre stage craziness for a few seconds as he came close to the front rows and displayed his face paint.

PS: Where did you interview him? If it was at the hotel they were staying at, I was there too and thanks to you, i got to meet him and take a pic with him and Olli ;)

and a big thanks to to Juha for giving me the opportunity to do so.

I'm soooo tempted to but I can't cuz I feel i look like a dolt in it, like a dear caught in front of headlights... of course you can't blame me, not in my wildest dreams would have I dreamt of meeting Marko, shake hands with him and later watch him (at a distance of course) at at the restaurant. I will put that pic of mine on Facebook and let you guys know. Took no other pics though, I value their privacy.

And after that super gig, I saw him sitting holding his face at the restaurant.. poor chap must have been dead tired with all that performing but seemed like he was in high spirits. Wish one could see the real Marko behind the face paint, the hat and the feathers.

Then I bumped into the band members again the next morning at the airport! Saw Olli and others but no sign of Marko. My GF joked that the band might get a restraining order on me if I didn't stop bumping into them :P

If any Poet is reading this, I'm not sorry.... bumping into you guys every now and then was the best birthday gift I have received so far!

@Roy C Thomas

You are one lucky man you know, getting to click your pics with those legends !!!   I am like super jealous !!

I am from Pune and i travelled all the way from here to Blore so that i could catch em live cause i dont know when again they are gonna be so close..didnt want to miss...i was nowhere close to the dias :( but nevermind, i covered 500 miles so i dont really mind those 100 yards between me and MAARKO !!!! :D

It was awesome... in fact the feeling of watching them perform live is something that cant be easily described, surreal at the best !!! I was always a big big fan since the day i heard them, also marveled at their stage presence upon watching the YTube vids from other live gigs... but you have to be there to actually feel the electricity of their perf !!! They set the fall sky on fire !!! Salute!!! True Gods of the stage !!!!

and a big bunch of thanks to Blore and the crowd !!! they were awesome too... no wonder every band that actually wants to perform heads that way !!!

THEY CAME, WE SAW, THEY CONQUERED !!!!
\m/ PEACE !!!

Reading all of your impressions and brief reports makes me really happy. It truly sounds like an unforgettable gig and I agree with all of you: Three is nothing like seeing Poets of teh Fall live. The descriptions alone are giving me goosebumps!
I'm hoping for more pictures and some full reports in the coming days. It would really enjoy reading more about all of it.

@black_dahlia: Wow, what a long trip! I'm glad you made it and it was worth it.

@spacemonkey: happy that you got to meet them.

@Roy C Thomas: And an interview. Lucky you, you must have been psyched. Looking at your vote of thanks picture I can hardly wait to see the other pictures you took. The two you used there look great. Take your time though, I know sorting isn't done in a day. :)

@black_dahlia: I hear ya, I am from Bombay and travelled those 620+ miles just to see them perform live.

The trip burned a hole in my pocket but it was all worth it and for that I'm thankful to the band and lady Fortuna :)
