btw. CYHM is definitely a song which is getting better and better the more often you listen to it. :)

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's going to be Given and Denied. Just my woman's intuition

I'll go for CYHM too because they've never done more than 2 videos per album.....

Could it be an in-studio rehearsal video? Has this band done that before?

So, not really.

Finally listened it today, and i can't believe it's by Poets.
though it's understandable, just a game soundtrack after all
but at the same time songs from Alan Wake are way more interesting.
Buying Alchemy becomes a hard decision :(

You can still get it for the DVD and awesome booklet. That's my reason anyway, I played CYHM twice and deleted it off my playlist forever.

With every song, POTF touches a new peak and it keeps raising my bars of expectations. Had this song come from any other band, I would have volleyed hyperbolic adjectives. I would have been all praises about the band.

As far as POTF's exemplary quality is concerned, this song doesn't match that level. POTF has now attained a cult status wherein, it itself poses threat to itself. It has to compete with itself. The song is very good but not as per POTF standards.
Though I have been listening to it eversince I downloaded it and it has kinda grown on me! :P
Lovely lyrics, so peaceful!
I would like to quote a verse from 15 minute flame (Twilight Theater) :-
"When love alone, is enough to set you free."
The song "Can you hear me" elevates the power of a magic word called "LOVE" and the way Marko addresses everyone as his "brothers and sisters" takes my heart away! :)

It took a while for the song to grow on me, but when it did, it became a song that I had to have on repeat for a whole day before I got over it, and was able to explore the rest of my music collection again.

Admittedly, I listen to it for the chorus. That wonderful rush and uplifting feeling; it makes me smile. I do enjoy it, but, as many others have said here, it's not my favourite. The lyrics tend to just wash over me, and instead I ride the waves of the music. I don't find it to be much of a sing-along song either - I much prefer songs like Roses and Given and Denied for that. But I do still very much enjoy the song, and I'm really damn curious to hear No End, No Beginning. D8

However... the cover art bothers me, too. .__. Being an art and animation student, it kind of bugs me that I can look at that cover and honestly say to myself "I could have made better." Doesn't stop me from enjoying the songs by any means, but... Poets' music deserve better art than that. D:

I don't understand how anyone could not like this...

I was kind of taken aback when I first heard it. Then I listened again and I liked it. Then again and I loved it. Then again and it got to me. Then again and I was amazed.

Incredible song dearest POTF. Love it. I love the electronic influences.

It's like Twilight Theater meets Signs of Life and something else. 8)

Me too. As far as I understand after watching the video (and especially after the final words), it’s about the compassion and about the peace all over the world. Seems like Poets urge us to be polite and tolerant to all.

P.S. Oh, forgot to say: director’s work is superb. Nice backlight, great compositions, interesting montage.

video was awesome:
The humane interpretation of beauty and joy of existence in every single tiniest movement of all. Poets of the Fall's most appealing quality always been... at least to me.

The video was beautiful and meaningful. I consider myself to be a "live and let live" type of a person, rather accepting and open (because I can be such a weirdo myself), but still this video had an impact on me and changed, or rather improved, my perspective of the song. It opened my eyes once again to the fact that there's so much unique, yet alike life out there. I liked the simplicity of it too, it didn't point fingers at all the different people in it (which I think Christina Aguilera's Beautiful did in some ways...), it just allowed them to be who they are in front of the camera instead of "performing tricks".

And talking about performing tricks, Marko did his part very well. He has an expressive body language and he's not afraid of doing his thing, which seems rather amazing to someone as shy as I sometimes am. Is it just me, or when Marko was wearing white, the "smoke" in the upper background almost looked like clouds.

I'm sorry the video doesn't allow commenting, but I can see how someone could bash it. But it would have a lot of defenders as well. I would have commented: Marko, I'm having a little trouble understanding your contemporary dance (in a humorous reference to a recent interview) ;)

The video is full of life and harmony. All those faces are wonderful to watch and in the end the smile on their faces ..... beautiful.

The three Markos in the video are amazing too. Black/white and some kind of "artwork" Marko. Really breathtaking :)

Just watched the video! it awesome!!

just love the part where the people smile, and hug/kiss each other. now i can see what
"your life, unique, yet so alike" part mean.
it's all about acceptance, for any kind of people, any races, human, animal to accept and love each other as fellow living, breathing creature. the video itself is simple, yet so heartwarming. i nearly cried the first time i watched it. they're addressing everyone as brothers and sisters.
so sweet <3

EDIT: watched it the second and third time ,and cried ;_;. been a long time since i shed tears of happiness :D

I love the new video! I think it will be one of my favourites right next to COR and Lift.
Going through:
At the beginning I like the scene where Olli's playing his guitar, he can does the magic with his hands on it (and personally this is my favoutire one). He's definitely my guitar hero
Then Marko's "dance" like DSoL said:

I have the same point of view. And I love his 'crying' make up. Really touching.
I love plays of the light on the plan, it makes the video more interesting and emotional.
Marko in white - he looks like an angel, really  Apocalypse came! Marko is wearing white! That was so unexpected from my side^^. And the light again - GREAT!
People showing their real faces like taking of the masks - hugs/kisses, that's so nice. I like the point of view of the Poets and the directors.
The sentence at the end - short, but giving so much.

There's one thing I would like to change - when we see Marko, Olli and Captain at the end, instead of looking at the camera they should do a group hug  That would be so nice!

Another stuff - I like also the scenes when the Poets are playing. I can see on their faces how they love the music.
Oh, and Marko, you've got great trousers! (the black ones especially and the white ones are great too, so white, probably I haven't seen jeans like those^^)
Did I mention some day that I love style of Marko? No? Even if yes, I can repeat this :P

I agree with what everyone has said about this video so far. Mahoniara, apollooo, Porthos 13... If one had to write down all one's opinions of this video, it would make for a very long post.

I have to make one more remark. Marko's self hug was cute, and the expression on his face was great. To me it relayed a self acceptance and appreciation and love for one self as well as literally embracing who you are. And sometimes it's not the easiest thing to do but that's what everyone should strive for.

@ Dark Side of Light

Yes, this selfhug was sweet and touching. And you are absolutly right our comments all put together would be a very long comment and an intersting read too.

This video is remarkable and has got at once a special place in my heart

Yeah, the video surely is pure in simplicity. I really like the gloomy colors, the shades of grey in it and the bandmembers indeed look cool when they're playing. And maybe the black and white Marko were what became of the fool and his majesty etc., I just wanna find some symbols in it to make watching it more interesting.....

If I had to come up with something negative, I would say the idea of using flashes of different people is somewhat old. And then there could have been a bit more themes of Alchemy. Maybe it's all about the money.... :P Anyway, nice job, guys! :)

I just have to spam a little more. But it's a question. In the end when Marko is holding some kind of a cup in his hand, his fingers are in a funny way. And the thought just popped into my head: could it be a sign language gesture, even if it's not intentional? :D And if yes, what does it mean?

First of all - the video is absolutely great.(in my opinion better than clips for DWA and War(but that was good works too))
Great art-work and light... That's why video is a little scary at first glimpse :D
The part with the people reminds me of LutS video where people took off the masks too.
And I also love Marco's crying image which reminds me about him in CoR video.

Great job, Poets :)

I think this is a great video. Is different from their previous work, but every song(video) has a different story and meaning. I completely fell in love with Marko's acting while wearing that hat, his make-up as he would have cried.
Those moments of him wearing only white and the background show another Marko, he's sort of an angel. Even if life has its gray, black moments there is still some light we can find in it.
I completely agree that we should act the way we really are, be ourselves and don't be afraid of what others may say about us. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. Even though this doesn't always happen, we should be nice to each other and don't care if somebody is rich or poor, beautiful or ugly, because in the end is the little things that bring us together.
