I was wondering about the meaning of the Lift-video. Why do our guys become prisoners ? What's the meaning behind it ? I can't imagine that it doesn't have a meaning, so tell me, please.

I tried, but did not come to any conclusions. So please share your wisedom with me.

Well... It is not for wide audience... In short, six members of a band are in fact just one (Mark) whose personality is splited into six parts. I don't know how to spell it in a medical way. Total number of prisoners - 1. But his mind is not ok.
Have you noticed that in this video you can find out Marko's heigh?

Yep. Watch the video veeeeery carefully.

Facts:
-There are actually 3 rooms, not 2.
-Olli(e)'s father appears in the video
-Marko had a multiple personality syndrom, which meant that the whole band was basically a one person. On the first rough cut their heads were changing in few of the frames, but this didn't worked so well and was removed from the final video.
-You can see Mark(o)'s height in the paper that the woman of the center holds.
-In the end the moth changes. Don't pay attention to what, think why...
-Stobe is very nice guy

I'd like to know who the women is in the Lift video... she's hot...!!!!! what's her name??? and is she the same lady that's on the CoR video???

She definately looks like a "Natasha Onatopov" very Ruski KGB looking

I think you can defelct a person with the music video.
i think the lyrcis from the song and the story the video tells are different.

"you lift my spirit, take me higher, make me fly. touch the moon up in the sky.." could mean
- his mind gets free, that he doesnt get totaly crazy
- the 'you' just made him crazy, his mind flew away
- he dont want to be jailed and is looking for freedom

by the way, i think, that PotF ist reading this thread and laughing about our silly ideas what the viedeo wants so say us..

I've noticed something on one of the forms she fills out.. At the end, when she crosses out "Menace to society", we see that she has also crossed out "Illusionist" and "Dreamer" aka "Illusion and dream".. It's kind of fascinating..

Well, every POTF video have a link to some song. For example all songs from the album Carnival of Rust are mentioned in the video, and in the new video there's a link to the song The Absolution. Stobe is full with crazy ideas...

I think its all about love, sometimes people feel trapped when they are in love, constantly controlled by it, like they are in a prison. Love can also blind us to the truth, as it is revealed at the end that the inkblot as seen by the others looks nothing like the moth.

i want to interpretate the videos but because the links (how I would do) i have first to interpretate the others and then start with the one at the top of the ladder, because they could all belong to each other...

So what you're saying is that the room with the moths pinned to the wall in is Marko's mind right? And in our reality he's being interrogated by this woman and the bunch of men, yeah?

So what's the photgraph of the woman meant to be? And why are they even holding him prisoner anyway?

I'm thinking: Marko is a prisoner of his own mind. He is tortured by his split personality issues, which makes his everyday life feel like a long interrogation session. The people who question him and are in control of him, is no one less than himself, that is the psychological illness that haunts him. That he sings of being lift represents that he would like to just fly away from it all, but doesn't know how to do it on his own. The moth I believe represents change - hopefully for the better The room with the pinned moths is a way to illustrate how trapped he is feeling, helplessly stuck in his situation, but still desperately trying to get away.
It could also be like this: maybe we are all prisoners in this world. Imprisoned by the human tendency to always look to your own best before others, the tendency to destroy the wonderful things that were given to us, only to make short term benefits out of it.

Or - maybe this is the closest to the real meaning I'm gonna get - everyone sometimes feel like Marko, wanting to fly away from a life that seems to have gotten out of our hands...

Despite everything that indicates our Marko doesn't get a happy ending in this video, it still leaves me with a good feeling. Perhaps the meaning of the song and video is simply that it is always possible to find hope, even in the most dark and difficult situation...
