Besides working on a new game soundtrack and bringing a song in Rock Band, our beloved band tweets about recording..a demo for a new album?

A good week, we recorded the first more-than-just-guitar-and-vocals -demo for our next album. Now weekend, party hard! (or soft!)

Is anyone already excited about that? :)

I respect the amount of projects POTF have at the same time. Well, what else would keep people stimulated in general...? And I indeed am very keen on any information they share. :) But we shall (and must) be patient. It's always good to have plans.

At some point I might have to start repeating the phrase: "I'm quick to wait. I'm quick to wait. I'm quick to wait. I'm quick to wait." But now it's a bit too early for that in my opinion. :) Let us let POTF take their time and after the great effort rejoice together.

But still... A new song! OMG OMG! A new album! OMG!

I'm always surprised how fast they come up with new material given how well they always manage to make lyrics and music go together. It's such a privilege to be able to enjoy a new album by the only band I really like sooner than most people who love music I consider trivial and uninspired. :D

Such tweets make me feel so warm inside, because I know there's something happening that I'll love and that sooner or later, no matter when, I might get to see / hear.
But still, I am of course very excited! It's always great to hear that the Poets are still at their work. It makes me look forward to the future and keep holding on just because I know there will be more amazing songs by them. :)

I must say I admire their creativeness. How on earth can Marko already have new lyrical ideas not even a year after TT hit the shelves? A true poet indeed. I certainly agree with VesQ, we must let them take their time. It just seems to me that this time is running quicker than I think :)

Like they have said before, they have dozens if not hundreds of lyrical and musical ideas in storage, so making a new album doesn't mean doing everything from scratch. Of course it's still a lot of work, but I'm guessing many "new" songs are based on old ideas. Mixed with lots of fresh stuff, of course. :)

It is wonderful to listen to our beloved Poets over and over and never get tired of their music! They work so hard to produce the beautiful songs we already know and all those that will be in our ears and hearts some day in the future...

Well it sounds like they've just started constructing a song, but that's still a lot more progress than a lot of bands make. I really admire POTF's ability to keep up releases with the same standard of quality

Really wondering what they are working on. It's probably no new video yet, they said they were just brainstorming, but given that we can expect the news rather soon, it's probably something else.

Maybe the other albums will also be released as vinyls or they'll release HD-versions of other videos. Maybe the Digistore will go online-officially and feature its first piece of live-content. The last one seems to be the most plausible one to me.

Let's wait and see.

It probably ain't a new album nor single, since they said they would make something no-one has ever done before. I wonder if it's some kinda collection of songs that haven't made their way onto the albums? (Not like someone hasn't done that before. Just guessing here)

EDIT: Also Mika, nice signature lol.

They will release more info very soon, but just to make things clear: they have never said anything like that (granted, I have said a few times that they are planning to do something potentially revolutionary at some point in the future, but that's a different story :)).

Well, then I bet it's a two-parted concept album :p

Just remember it's been ten months since their last album, and during that time, they have made one album for Phoenix Effect, composed game soundtracks, and who knows what... would be the fastest POTF album ever. :P

I'll love them even more than I already do if it's that... but my guess is for some "best of" =)
(and may it be the video they were tweeting about was for a new song in the compilation? or should I stop making up ideas from profile pics? )

random thought on looking at the cover:
- Lion? because of the crown thingy
- Chinese dragon? Because of the shape of the head
- Also makes me think of "The neverending story", even though the amulet in there had snakes and two of them if I recall correctly, but they did bity each other's tails
- Alchemy makes me think of the Dire Strait's awesome live album

more seriously:
- I love the color combination
- the image looks smeared/bloody, which sends a dark vibe to me
- it is nothing like TT, RR, CoR or SoL which makes me think the music is going to be totally different too and probably surprising
- Vol 1 of course suggests there is going to be a volume 2

Anything else I won't be guessing, but I have to say that I am now eycite and curious and - as usually - impatient.

Oh and I really do not understand why so many people are asking for a new album already when I have the feeling they just made Twilight Theater. I'd rather have quality than one album each year and my guess is that takes some time.

This stuff is rolling out of the blue like a storm!

Guys, you just said everything! And I totally agree with all of you!
What else can I say? Just about the picture, it could be also something concerning ancient Finnish or Nordic culture...
Anyway, that's another "precious" of a "beautiful mind"...Poets got my heart and my mind also for such art!
Oh my! Just thinking how I'd like to have ALCHEMY also in vinyl version...such a wonder deserves a record sleeve, indeed!!! But I'm going too much out of time...

I found something. Because we all know that Marko likes all tarot stuff, so I found this:

There are a few notes about Alchemy and Dragons (too much to copy here). And there is also about salt. Isn't on this pic salt?

"Alchemy Vol. 1: our favorite tracks 2003-2011 + music videos + new song "Can You Hear Me". March 16! First tour dates: http://bit.ly/7xOEb1"

So, just one new song after all. Still, great news!

Actually the album will have a reflective and slightly grainy cover, and the picture above just tries to demonstrate that. But yeah, of course that could be salt too. :D

It may be an offtopic, but THANK you, guys, for the upcoming gig at Ukraine. We have been waiting for you here all of these years. Now there is no reason (for us) to visit Moscow again. :)

I hope you’ll be blasting the audience not only at the west side of Ukraine, but also in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhya and so on.
